Shiro lay in bed, still dazed from sleep. The little power he displayed in the training ground made him so tired and he couldn't understand why.
“Shiro?” Korin murmured,as his small hands tapped Shiro's arms. “Wake up, sleepyhead! Come and see!” Korin said, excitement in his voice. He then climbed curtains and pulled on them letting in bright sunlight. Shiro squinted as he stood up and looked outside the window. His eyes widened in surprise. The streets of Serevaal were filled with supernaturals. Colorful decorations adorned every corner, and laughter echoed in the air, the sky as purple as ever signaling it was a bright day. “What’s happening?” Shiro asked, rubbing his eyes. “It’s the Elemental Festival! It happens once every month. All the protectors, helpers, and guardians are here to celebrate our powers!” Korin exclaimed, grinning widely. “And you didn't tell me?” Shiro smiled, adrenaline coursing through him. “Come on, let’s go!” Korin said, heading for the door. As they stepped outside, Shiro was amazed by the sights and sounds. Brightly colored stalls lined the streets, showcasing their food, crafts, and performances. The excitement was contagious. Shiro felt his heart race. He's not seen so much togetherness. “I’m going to find my people,” Korin said, glancing around. “I don't want you to go far, okay? If possible, don't go anywhere!” “Okay,” Shiro replied, chuckling. Korin's tiny body disappeared into the crowd, and Shiro stood there, taking everything in. Suddenly, he heard a noise nearby. He turned to see a crowd gathered around a stage where a boy with striking blue skin was performing. The boy was demonstrating his water abilities, manipulating the water into different shapes. He made it swirl and move in the air, creating beautiful fountains. The audience clapped and cheered, and Shiro found himself captivated. He couldn’t take his eyes off the display. But as soon as the boy glanced in his direction, Shiro quickly looked away, embarrassed to be caught staring. After the boy finished, he stepped off the stage, a confident smile on his face. He spotted Shiro standing alone and walked over, his blue skin complementing his bright blue eyes. “You look different,” the boy said, his deep voice smooth. “You’re not from here, are you?” Shiro felt a mix of shyness and excitement. “No, I’m human. Elro's reborn.....” “... oh I heard about you” the boy replied, tilting his head slightly. “You seem a bit lost. Enjoying the festival?” “I think its amazing! I've never seen anything like this” Shiro said, his eyes lighting up. “I didn’t know it would be this lively. I’m just trying to take it all in.” “I’m Yuki, by the way,” he introduced himself. “Nice to meet you, I’m Shiro. Your water skills are awesome,” Shiro complimented him. “It’s nothing, Shiro. I bet you can do better. I heard you can control all four elements. Isn’t that cool?” Shiro chuckled, not sure of what to say. “I… I really can’t control my elements,” Shiro admitted. “But I’m learning at the Elemental School.” Yuki nodded, intrigued. “I didn’t learn how to control my elements in school. My father taught me, but he passed away some years ago. His lessons are still with me, though.” “Sorry about that,” Shiro said. “Its okay, what about your family?” Yuki asked Shiro. Shiro's smile faded slowly. “They... they are back in the human world,” he said, not wanting to tell him much. “ Complicated” he added. “I get it,” Yuki said softly, his tone understanding. “Sometimes it’s hard to talk about family. You know, when my dad died, i didn't come out for a long time, I shut down my powers, it was hard for me” “I’m sorry to hear that,” Shiro replied, feeling a connection with Yuki. “It sounds like he was important to you.” “Yeah, he was,” Yuki said, his smile returning slightly. “ Uhmm, want to check out the festival together?” Yuki suggested. “I can show you the best food stalls!” “My guardian…” Shiro replied but was cut off. “We not going too far, Shiro" Yuki said. “Okay then” he said as he followed Yuki. As they walked through the festival, Shiro felt a warmth growing in his chest, he was glad to have made a new friend. ****************************** The night was drawing near, so Shiro and Korin after saying bye to Yuki were heading back to the council quarters when they heard the first scream. It wasn’t a scream of fear—it was something primal, raw with power. The air shifted unnaturally, as if the elements themselves had taken offense. "Did you hear that?" Shiro asked, his heart pounding. Before Korin could respond, a figure rushed past them—a supernatural boy, wide-eyed and out of breath. "Get inside! Something’s wrong—someone is losing it!" A woman shouted to them before running into the shadows. Korin and Shiro exchanged a glance. "We need to see what’s going on," Korin said, already moving towards the source of the commotion. Shiro wasn't sure but followed anyway. When they arrived at the courtyard, the scene was pure chaos. In the center stood a male student, barely older than Shiro, his body trembling with unstable power. His eyes glowed with a strange mix of silver and green as wind and earth elements swirled violently around him. Debris and dust spun in a whirlpool, and stones shot from the ground, threatening to hit anyone too close. “Help!” someone shouted from the sidelines—a girl with a streak of white in her dark hair, she was paralyzed by the storm-like energy surrounding the boy. Shiro and Korin ducked as a chunk of stone crashed against a nearby statue, splitting it in half. Someone then tapped Shiro at his back, it was Miss Rena “What are you doing here??, You should be inside, this is dangerous for you, Shiro” Shiro was scared but didn't say anything. "This is getting out of hand," Rena muttered, his voice sharp. "He’s lost control of his elements” “Help me!!” The girl shouted again. No one could get close to her, the force was strong. Next to Rena, a man appeared as well, his skin red and his golden eyes narrowing. "He’s channeling too much power at once. We have to stop him, or he’ll cause harm here." Shiro wanted to save the girl, he didn't know how but he needed to. Korin quickly grabbed Shiro with his little hands "Stay here," he warned. "This isn’t your fight." But Shiro shook his head. He couldn’t look away from the chaos. The girl was clearly hurting and the boy at the center of it all—a stranger to Shiro but somehow familiar—was clearly suffering, trapped inside the raging storm of his own power. The man raised his hand, summoning his fire but the boy’s elements resisted, exploding in waves of dirt and wind that sent several students flying. Rena swore under her breath as she summoned a wall to block and shield people around, Rena was an Air Mage. And then, just when it seemed like the boy would be consumed by his own magic, his gaze locked with Shiro’s. For a moment, everything slowed. Shiro felt something—a connection, a sense that this wasn’t just an accident. The boy knew him. Before anyone could react, the storm surged again. Rena staggered, the wall unraveling. "He’s going to break through!"Related Chapters
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO FESTIVAL FIASCO 2
Shiro knew he had to act, but Korin yanked him back just as another figure stepped forward— Yuki stood there trembling but determined. "I can help!" He shouted. “I'll help too” , Shiro said standing up "You’re not ready!" Rena and Korin shouted at the same time. "I have to try!" Shiro said as his hands glowed with weak Air energy, and he struggled to contain the storm, his power barely doing anything. The man's cold voice cut through the storm. "We don’t have time for this. If we don’t stop him now, he’ll destroy this place." Shiro continued and didn't give up. "I won’t let him hurt anyone," Shiro said, his voice steady. Rena’s eyes widened, realizing Shiro’s intent. “If you’re going to do this, be careful! Focus on your air element; use it to calm the storm!” she shouted loudly so he could hear. Taking a deep breath, Shiro summoned all his willpower, channeling his air energy. “Breathe! You can control it!” he said to himself. The winds howled around them, but Shiro
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO ELEMENTAL TRAINING: WATER
The forest was cloaked in silence, the only sound being the occasional rustle of leaves in the cold night breeze. The sky was so dark, everything in it seemed invisible. A hooded figure stepped into a hidden clearing, where the moonlight barely touched the ground. He moved with purpose, his dark cloak brushing the earth like a shadow given life. At the center of the clearing lay an ancient stone seal, cracked and weathered by time. Faint symbols glimmered weakly along its surface, pulsing in and out, as though something beneath it was alive—waiting. '命运交织' was written on the Stone. The air around the seal felt thick, heavy with restrained power. The figure stood before it. The ground trembled slightly, responding to his presence. Streams of faint energy—both earth and air—curled from the edges of the cracked seal as they drew to him like threads of a incomplete web. He tilted his head, muttering under his breath, “Though the distraction failed,... the orb weakened more.” His w
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO IN THE DUNGEON
The cold dungeon walls felt heavy with silence, broken only by the distant drip of water. A small boy sat huddled on the cold floor, his arms wrapped tightly around his knees. His clothes were torn, his hair dirty, and his thin frame shook with cold. He stayed hidden from the flickering light, keeping his head buried in his arms. Footsteps echoed down the stone corridor. Two figures emerged out from the shadows—It was Rexar, sharp-eyed and restless, and Zerix, whose expression was calm but watchful. They stopped just outside the cell, the heavy iron door creaked open as Rexar stepped in first, arms crossed. The boy didn’t move. "Get up," Rexar ordered, his voice sharp, but the boy didn’t respond. His thin shoulders remained unmoved, as if the world was too much to face. Zerix stepped in beside Rexar, his tone more measured. "We need answers, boy. Who’s behind what happened that night? Tell us, and maybe we can help you." A faint whisper slipped from the boy’s lips. "Him….."
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO ALL OF A SUDDEN...
As Shiro and Korin walked along the training ground path, Shiro tried to practice his water abilities. There was no formal training today, so they walked round the grounds, students and instructors moving around too. Shiro focused hard, attempting to form a steady stream of water as they moved. But it wasn’t working. The water kept slipping from his control, and frustration bubbled inside him. Korin chuckled softly, his small antennae twitching with amusement. Shiro gave him a curious glance. "What’s so funny?" "You remind me of him," Korin said with a grin. "Elro?" Shiro asked, tilting his head. "Yeah," Korin replied, nodding. "He was just like you—impatient, always eager to master his elements." “But he did learn eventually," Shiro said, “and saved Serevaal” "Oh, he did. And fast, too, but you'll learn too, Shiro and save both Serevaal and Earth" Korin said with a small smile. Shiro’s shoulders slumped slightly. " I am still struggling to make even a single drop,"
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO 命运交织 BOUND BY FATE
Cora sat at the head of the council table as usual, her face quite unreadable as she tapped her fingers rhythmically on the surface. The rest of the council sat at both sides of the room, tension thick in the air. “This is the second time we've had unknown attacks in the space of about two days,” Rexar began, frustration seeping into his voice. “And it’s only happening where 'The so called Chosen One' is.” He made air quotes Zerix leaned forward, arms folded. “What are you trying to imply Rexar??” Zerix questioned, equally frustrated with Rexar’s baseless accusations “I’m not saying he’s the cause, but the connection is undeniable.” Rexar defended. “He's the Reborn, we should expect something like this, The Dark one is after him” Alaric stated. Cora, silent for a moment, finally spoke. “The training is no longer safe as long as he trains there—not for students.” “We can’t just pull him out in the middle of his training,” Zerix protested. “He needs structure, guidance, foun
RISE OF THE ELEMENTAL HERO ELEMENTAL TRAINING: FIRE
Shiro stepped onto the training grounds, where the Fire Training ground stretched out before him—a vast, open space enclosed by a high stone wall, with a structure that seemed to reach toward the sky. The air here had a distinct heat, even before the fires began. Burnt soil stretched across the field, while scattered fire pits and practice targets dotted the area, waiting for the day's training. Around him, other students were getting ready for the session, murmuring in low voices. They were here for a challenge, yet they couldn't mask their enthusiasm . Shiro’s eyes swept over the place, noting the energy in the air. Korin was somewhere waiting for him to finish his Fire training. The Fire training had a different feel from the others; it felt raw, powerful, and alive. He took a deep breath, the air warm and thick with the scent of smoke. A loud, clear voice interrupted the buzz. “Alright, everyone!” It was their instructor, a tall, sturdy woman with a red cherry like skin a

Did you hear?? They say the possessed boy that attacked the school a few weeks ago is dead." Mei said with a sad tone.Shiro halted immediately and then blinked. "Dead ? How ?!" He said, startled as he looked at Korin."Well, the council is yet to release an official statement about what happened but rumors have it that he killed himself ...." Mei replied, her tone hushed. ".... last night, right in his cell"Korin frowned, his antennas twitching. "That po

COUNCIL MEETING
Alaric cleared his throat, breaking the heavy silence. “We need to address the orb’s instability. Liora’s condition is proof that we are wasting so much time in stopping the Dark One.”Rexar leaned back in his chair, his large arms crossed. “We’ve been quite lenient on this matter for a while. Don't you think? That's why the orb keeps getting unstable, this is nothing different. The Dark One’s influence is seeping through already. I can feel it. Or maybe someone within the council, tampered with the orb.”“You know that can't happen, this council is guarded.” Alaric replied sharply, “This is an anomaly, it's the Dark One.”“An anomaly or not, the orb almost killed one of us! How many more anomalies are you willing to accept before we act, Protectors”“Enough,” Zerix said firmly, his voice cutting through their budding argument. “We’re not here to argue. We’re here to find a solution.”Cora, who had been quietly observing the exchange, leaned forward slightly. Her tone was fierce but
DANCE OF FIRE AND EARTH
He wiped the sweat from his brow, casting a sideways glance at Yeuhan. “What now?” he asked, his voice strained but determined. Yeuhan watched him for a long moment, his expression still unreadable. "Now?.” Shiro wiped his forehead, his body trembling slightly from the exertion. “I thought you were going to kill me,” he muttered under his breath. Yeuhan’s laugh was low and dark. “I could, but where’s the fun in that? You’re still too weak, Shiro. The real challenge comes when you stop relying on physical force and start listening to your elements.” Shiro frowned, trying to make sense of what Yeuhan was saying. “So… control?” Yeuhan's eyes sparkled with an edge of amusement. “More than that. It’s about connection, I'm sure you've been told. You can’t force your elements to obey. You have to ask them, listen to them, guide them with your will.” Shiro didn’t fully understand, but he nodded anyway. He was learning—although at a pace he never thought possible. Before he could say an
THE OLD MASTER'S TEST
The soft glow of the new day painted streaks of amber across the waypaths of Serevaal. Shiro walked briskly, his mind swirling with Cora’s words. " It requires someone capable of wielding all four elements in harmony. Someone… like you.” Her voice echoed in his head, refusing to let him rest. But how could he possibly break the seal if he hadn’t even mastered one element fully? His abilities were raw, unrefined, and the weight of expectations felt heavier than ever.Shiro hesitated at the threshold of Yeuhan’s secluded house. He had found himself there after long consideration of visiting. The place emanated a quiet power, its wooden walls lined with intricate carvings of elements. It was a silent testament to the Old man that lived there.Shiro knocked. No answer. Again. No answer.“Yeuhan?” Shiro called, now pushing the door slightly ajar. The room inside was dimly lit by shafts of sunlight breaking through the wooden shutters. Shiro moved further, finding another door. Curiosity g
THREAD OF DECEPTION
Shiro sat on the edge of his bed, the weight of the past few days pressing on his chest. His thoughts kept circling back to what had happened back at the council—just like everyone, he wanted answers. And he also felt bad for Protector Liora. The air in his room felt heavy, suffocating. He couldn’t stay there any longer. He looked over at Korin who made faint sleep noises before leaving. Stepping out into the stillness of the area, Shiro moved toward a quiet corner where he often found peace. The training grounds had been eerily quiet since the council’s decision to pause all sessions due to what happened. Two days of restless waiting had done little to calm his nerves and his elements. As he sat on the stone bench, a prickling sensation ran down his spine. Someone was watching him. He stood abruptly, spinning around, his eyes scanning the shadows. “Who’s there?” His voice was firm, though his heart raced. No answer. He exhaled sharply, turning back to his seat—only to find hims
HEALING, SECRETS...
Shiro and Korin made their way to the council’s healing chamber, their steps brisk with concern. The air was heavy with tension, whispers of what had happened already spreading through the grounds and quarters.“Do you think she’s okay?” Korin asked, his small voice laced with worry.“She has to be,” Shiro replied, though his tone lacked certainty. As they approached the healing chamber, two council guards stepped aside, allowing them in. Inside, the room was filled with an eerie glow. Liora lay on a raised platform, her usually vibrant aura dimmed. A HELPER stood over her, hands glowing faintly as they worked to draw the orb's energy from her body.Alaric, Zerix, and Rexar stood nearby, their faces in dismal.“Shiro, Korin,” Zerix acknowledged, his voice soft but strained. “You’re here.”“How is she?” Shiro asked immediately, his eyes darting to Liora.“She’s stable,” Alaric replied, his usual calm voice filled with unease now. “But the energy from the orb… it’s taking time to
SIGNS OF THE UNSEEN
Rexar leaned back in his chair, his earthy green skin catching the orb's light. His sharp features betrayed his frustration, though he masked it with an air of indifference.“So,” he began casually, crossing his arms, “has anyone come across... anything unusual lately?”The other protectors exchanged glances at each other.“Something like what, Rexar??” Zerix asked.“I don't know, perhaps something left behind by Elro?” Cora, seated at the head of the table, raised a sharp brow. Her fiery aura flared faintly, “Why would Elro leave something behind without informing the council?”“ I don't know, it just came to mind, it's nothing serious” “Do you know something we don't know?”Cora questioned, her eyebrows squinting slightly. Rexar scoffed. “Trust me, Cora. You all know more than I do. It was just a harmless question.” Alaric tilted his head, his silver hair gleaming. His cool, composed demeanor remained unchanged as he spoke. “You seem unusually concerned about this, Rexar. I
ABOVE THE WATERS
The river flowed gently, its clear waters sparkling under the light as it flowed into a serene waterfall nearby. Shiro and Yuki sat on a smooth rock by the riverside, the sound of rushing water filling the air around them. The calm atmosphere seemed to draw them into a conversation that was quite relaxing."You know, forming a flying mage is not hard," Yuki said, responding to Shiro.Shiro sighed, resting his chin on his knees. "It's really hard. I just want Yeuhan to have some hope in me."Yuki blinked in surprise, turning to face Shiro. "Yeuhan? That's your instructor?"Shiro nodded.Yuki let out a low whistle, his expression shifting to one of admiration. "Yeuhan is a legend in Serevaal. He's been here for decades, maybe longer. He was here before my dad was even born. Did you know he taught Elro how to use his four elements?"Shiro's eyes widened in astonishment. "Elro? He taught Elro?"Yuki nodded again, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah. He's one of the best. Honestly, I
THE FIRE WITHIN
"Couple of days ago, we learnt how to form a mage," Yeuhan began, his commanding voice spreading across the training ground. "It was really simple. Now, I need you all to know..." His gaze swept over the students like a stormcloud ready to break. "...the easy stage has passed."Shiro swallowed hard, exchanging a nervous glance with Mei, who stood beside him. Mei's usual confidence seemed to flicker as she gulped silently, and Shiro couldn't help but do the same."Get into your runes, everyone!" Yeuhan commanded, his tone unchanged. The students scrambled to obey, rushing to their elemental circles etched into the ground. Shiro hesitated for a moment not knowing where to go but ended up in the fire rune. The fiery red circle beneath his feet glowed faintly as he stood still, trying to control his breathing. He felt the heat rise around him, though it wasn't enough to burn.Yeuhan moved to the center of the training ground, his staff tapping softly against the stone. His steps were meas
FURY AND SHADOWS
Rexar stormed into his study, his earthy green skin almost shining in the dim light from the fire lamps mounted on the walls. His sharp features were hardened with frustration, his deep voice vibrating through the room as he muttered curses under his breath. Books, scrolls, and artifacts were scattered across the polished stone floor, a sign showing his fruitless search. He opened yet another drawer, pulling out old papers and slamming them onto the desk. His tall, imposing frame seemed to make the room smaller, the air heavy with his growing anger."It has to be here," he growled, his voice low but sharp. "It can't just vanish."Rexar's sharp eyes darted to the shelves lining the walls. They were overflowing with neatly stacked books and scrolls-except for the one he desperately needed. Except for the scroll he was looking for.His hands clenched into fists, and with a sharp gesture, twigs and branches began to form from the floor, twisting together into jagged shapes. With a frustra
