As soon as the car door closed, the sound of gunfire echoed through the air. Erica's eyes widened in terror as she clung to Sullivan.

This was not supposed to happen, Sullivan thought.

John assured him that the road was secured but it seems that they must have slipped his eyes.

"What's happening?" she screamed.

Sullivan's face was set in a grim mask as he pulled her closer.

"Don't worry, I've got you," he said, his voice calm and reassuring.

He could tell she was frightened as the bullets threatened to break through the glass, but thankfully they were bulletproof.

The car sped away, bullets whizzing past them.

John's face was focused on the road, his eyes darting back and forth as he navigated through the traffic.

The General was counting on him to save them from this situation and he was not going to let him down.

"John, get us out of here!" Sullivan yelled.

"I'm trying, General!" John replied, his voice tense.

His heart was beating fast.
