Shannon left after the police officer inside returned Aland's phone to her. Smiling tearfully, she took her husband by the hand to walk home together.

"What do you want to do after it's all over, Aland?"

Shannon's brief question made Aland think hard. Occasionally, he would kiss Shannon's head that rested on his shoulder, even if it was only for a moment.

"I want to continue a happy life with you. Without any enemies. Without anyone else trying to bring us both down."

Aland's ambiguous answer made Shannon squint sharply. Her head snapped up as she continued to think about things.

"How could we possibly live without enemies? Even God, who is known to love his people, still gets hate from time to time. How can we live without enemies when we have made mistakes, hmm?"

Aland stopped walking for a moment. Then he grasped Shannon's hand that had just let go of his arm.
