Regina sharply turned to Anita with an incredulous and disappointed expression. “You’re letting him stay?! After everything he did to you?” Anita didn’t even have any time to reply to her mother as Nathan, whose face had reddened with rage, sharply stood up from where he was kneeling and glowered at Anita. “How dare you do that?!” He shouted, his voice trembling. “You can’t demote me from my position at the company. I refuse to accept it!” Anita stepped backwards away from Nathan, to prevent him from invading her personal space, then she met his gaze squarely. “If you refuse to accept my decision, then you’re free to turn in your resignation and leave the company,” her tone was straightforward. “Your decision is trash!” Nathan bristled as his fists clenched by his sides.
