The next day arrived in the blink of an eye, and Adrian, Anita, and Regina wasted no time in getting ready and heading over to Grandpa Lloyd’s mansion.

While they were in the car, Regina who had been bobbing her knees impatiently for a while, blurted out as she couldn’t hold in her question any longer.

“Hey you,” she called out to Adrian without bothering to acknowledge him by his name. “Was your friend able to get a confession out of that dispatch rider?”

Adrian, who was driving, met her gaze through the rearview mirror, and shook his head, but the corner of his mouth twitched mischievously as he decided to rile Regina up.

“No, he wasn’t able to get any confession out of the dispatch rider.” Adrian replied, his expression feigning somberness.

Anita turned to him, her brows raised as if to ask him why he was withholding the truth from her mother. Adrian threw a playful wink at her, before his expression turned serious again.
