Based on the instructions in his books, he set the flame and started to refine his pill. Time seemed to stand still, but after about a half an hour, the cauldron began to bubble.

At the same time, a rich medicinal fragrance wafted out of it. Suddenly, there was a flash of light. There was a flash of lightning from the storm outside. Since Kevin was at the highest point of one of the tallest buildings in Chicago, he could see the city's skyline light up.
