CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

“Leo, we are family now. There is no need to give me anything really.”

Irene said with a hideous smile on her face.

While she said, she took the gift from Leo acting reluctant.

Her friends begged her to open the present and as they all watched enviously, Irene happily opened the package.

When she pulled out the gift, everyone immediately gasped in surprise.

Inside the box was a bright sparkling bracelet, decorated with precious gems.

They couldn’t believe their eyes.

One of her friends exclaimed,

“Irene, your son in-law is so generous!”

Irene was also very surprised and asked Leo,

“This bracelet is beautiful, Leo. I hope it didn’t cost you too much?”

Irene deliberately asked this question.

She knew Leo was quite rich but she did it to taunt Martha even more.

“It didn’t cost that much, mom. Just about thirty thousand dollars.”

Leon smiled and said.

“But the price is not important. What matters is whether you like it.”
