Rose adjusted her blazer in the mirror, preparing for her first day as the project leader. She glanced at the time and muttered to herself, “Where is Julian? He was supposed to drop me off.”

The sound of a powerful engine rumbled outside. Curious, she peeked out the window and froze. A sleek black Rolls-Royce Phantom gleamed in the morning light, parked right outside their modest home.

“What on earth?” she whispered, hurrying out the door.

Julian leaned casually against the car, dressed sharply in a tailored black suit. His nonchalant demeanor was a stark contrast to the car’s grandeur.

“Good morning,” he said with a slight smirk.

“Julian,” she began, her voice full of disbelief. “Where did you get this car? Don’t tell me you bought it!”

He chuckled, opening the passenger door for her. “Relax, it’s second-hand. Nothing too extravagant.”

“Second-hand?” Rose’s voice pitched higher. “Julian, this is a Rolls-Royce! Even second-hand, it’s still insanely expensive!”
