Davis' mood and countenance saddened thinking about it. He started to remember what had happened, the humiliation. Him delivering condom to his wife and her lover.

Several times, he tried to convince himself that it wasn't true, maybe it was a dream or Scarlet went there to do something else but no matter what he thought, he knew the truth was she cheated on him and even had no form of remorse whatsoever.

He wanted to confront Scarlet again and really understood why she did what she did. Though she claimed not to have any feelings for him, he wondered, could it really be true.

Getting home, Davis clenched his fist and took a deep breath before entering into the house.

Just as he entered the house, he was greeted with scolding by his mother in-law, Sophia Logan. It was not wrong to say Sophia hated him more than any other person in the Logan family. She always blamed him for being the reason why her daughter could not get married to a wealthy man.

"You worthless loser, are you back from whiling away your time doing nothing all day. Look at other young men, even if they don't have a big background, they are doing well with their own hard work but look at you, so useless, you don't have any skills, you can't even do anything rather you stay home all day feeding and munching of my family. You are a disgrace."

Even though Davis was used to her scolding, he couldn't help feeling very angry this time especially when thinking of what Scarlet had done.

He took a deep breath and held his anger in before saying," Mom.... "

But he had not finished his words before his mother in-law attacked him again.

"Don't call me mom, I can't give birth to such a useless loser who does nothing but eat all day. Look at all my friends, their son in-laws are hardworking, they have good jobs, good cars, luxury houses. If my daughter had married a rich man, I would be able to hold my head high in front of my friends but because of you, I feel ashamed everywhere."

" Mom, you may not know but I am.... " However before Davis could finish his words, he was interrupted by Sophia," How dare you talk when I'm talking. You animal. Ah, I must have offended somebody or done something bad in my past life to have a son in-law like you."

She spat.

That wasn't even done when Scarlet's younger brother, Malik walked into the living room. He had been hearing his mother shouting which provoked him to leave his room.

He immediately pointed his finger at Davis," You loser, I've been trying to play a game but you've been letting my mom shout and distract me, why don't you go die? I feel ashamed to call you my brother in-law. Where were you when other young men were working hard?"

Malik was also one of the people who enjoyed humiliating Davis at any point he had, he always denied knowing Davis and told his friends he was just their housekeeper even though they all knew Davis was a live in son in-law.

Malik was a lazy young man, despite calling Davis a loser, he didn't know how to do anything, always gambled and was a thorn to the family, however, none of his family members saw those flaws of his as they just focused on Davis own lack of money.

"Davis, do you know the reason I remained with you all this while, it was not because I loved you. It was because my great aunt left some money in her will. She said, if we were to get divorce before the end of three years, the money will be given to the orphanage, but after three years, it doesn't matter, so i can get access to her will now. So let's get a divorce tomorrow."

Just as Sophia was about to resume her humiliation towards Davis, Scarlet's voice sounded making her pause.

Sophia hearing this immediately felt ecstatic, "I knew I was not destined to suffer, daughter, you've made the right choice. Tomorrow is too far, let's go get the divorce today."

It was at this moment Davis realised that he had indeed been too foolish in expecting Scarlet to be remorseful and apologize. She didn't even treat him as a thing but rather as a tool.

Under Sophia's urging, they went to the marriage registry department where their divorce was processed.

Looking at the divorce certificate, Davis sighed and wondered if Scarlet knew his current identity now, how would she treat him. It was her loss.

Meanwhile, Scarlet who felt like she was free was so excited as if she was free from bondage. Just the a luxurious car zoomed over stopping right in front of them as a young man got out. He was none other than John Morgan, as he got out, he hugged Scarlet, kissing her as they tried to act all lovey-dovey with the intention of humiliating Davis more.

Seeing John, Davis clenched his fist, he could vividly remember that day. It was a day he would never forget. He would surely seek revenge of John. Besides that, he was also happy, the whole incident had revealed Scarlet's true character.

In the past, she always pretended to be weak, virtuous and kind but all that were a means to an end. She was no different from a devil at heart.

Scarlet and John got into their car while continuously mocking Davis as they zoomed off.

Davis didn't feel bothered, as someone who had always been humiliated before, he had grown used to it, he simply gave a chilling smile as he murmured to himself.

"I shouldn't worry myself too much about them. The Davis of the past is dead, this is a new Davis, Davis Gardner, the heir of the Gardner family, that's enough consolation for all I've gone through. Ifs it's not about the money, it's about the power."

With that, he got on his scooter which he had rode here while Scarlet had taken a taxi earlier.
