Gini Benson stood close to the company's entrance, her heart racing with excitement. As she waited for Rowland to arrive, her eyes darted to the main door every few seconds.

She had carefully examined his schedule: he consistently arrived at 9:15 a.m. and departed at 5:30 p.m. She needed every aspect of her plan to go perfectly because today would be no different.

Amaya's leather bag fit comfortably in her large tote, its weight serving as a continual reminder of the work at hand. Gini's thoughts were racing with a mix of doubt and ambition.

For a moment she considered that she could still back out. However, the promise of a position on the top management board overcame her reluctance. This was her opportunity to prove herself and take ownership of a future she had only dared to imagine.

The company's glass doors opened at precisely 9:15 a.m., and Rowland entered with his customary demeanor of subdued authority. With his briefcase securely grasped in one hand, he wore a perfectly fi

Two uniformed police officers strode through the main entrance, disrupting the morning atmosphere at Fence Emerald Company. Staff members noticed them right away; some whispered in low voices, while others exchanged interested looks. Clara, the receptionist, sat up straight in her chair as they came closer, her professional manner unfazed."Good morning," one officer said in a firm but courteous tone. "We are here for official purposes. We need to talk with Mr. Rowland."Clara scowled a little, knowing that she should proceed with caution. "I apologize, but I can not simply let you in. What is this all about?"The second officer, who was holding a small notebook, spoke up. "We received a call from someone within the company reporting illegal activity involving Mr. Rowland. It is critical that we speak with him and launch an investigation."Clara's frown became more intense. "I know, but according to company policy, I have to alert senior management before permitting anyone to interfe

Bennett felt his heart sink. The room became quieter, as if everyone had sensed the importance of the conversation. "Sir, we got a report—""I do not care what you got," Mr. Silva snapped. "You are required to release him immediately. If there is any suspicion, it will be investigated. Understood?""Yes, sir," Bennett responded, sweat forming on his brow."And Bennett," Mr. Silva continued, his voice falling even lower, "I expect a full report on this matter by the end of the day. If I find that you have overstepped, you will have to answer directly to me."The officer swallowed forcefully. "I understand, sir."The line went dead. With a pale face, Bennett turned to his partner and returned the phone to Fatima. They both took Rowland's handcuffs off his wrists without saying a word."You are free to go, Mr. Rowland," Bennett said, his voice low. "We apologize for the misunderstanding."Rowland rubbed his wrists, his face a mix of bewilderment and relief. "You have made an enormous mis

The room was tense as Gini's words hung in the air like an accusation. Mrs. Amaya's face hardened, and her usual air of superiority returned in full force. She took a slow, deliberate step towards Gini, speaking in an icy tone."You will not do such a thing, Gini," Amaya stated, her words sharp and cutting. "You will be sorry if you even consider confessing anything to Rowland. Not only will I ensure that the promise I made to you is no longer valid, but I will also fire you. Do you understand what I am saying? Fired and blacklisted.”The threat remained, but Gini did not flinch. Rather, she squared her shoulders and spoke firmly as she confronted Amaya's glare. "Mrs. Amaya, do you think I am concerned about the promise now? You have thrown me into a situation I did not want to be in. I will be the one behind bars for planting that bag if this blows up, which it will. The idea of my life being destroyed for something I was unaware of is too much for me to handle. As Fatima leaned against the desk, her arms folded, her gaze fixed on Rowland, the tension in his office was evident. Rowland was sitting in his chair with his brows knitted, as though he was mentally assembling a jigsaw puzzle. He was completely shaken by the police incident, and now Fatima's incessant questions felt like a spotlight on a stage he was not ready to stand on."Rowland," Fatima demanded in a firm but kind voice. "How on earth did that bag end up in your briefcase? You have to think carefully. It is serious."Rowland rubbed his temples in exasperation and sighed. "Fatima, I have no idea. I swear I do not. I have never touched drugs, much less carried them in my bag. This must be some sort of setup, but I can not figure out how or why."Fatima examined him intently, her own thoughts whirling with potential. Although the evidence was incriminating, she needed to believe him. She spoke again after a pause, her voice becoming softer."Okay," she replied. "I called Khalid as

He was about to think about it when his phone buzzed on the desk. The screen displayed a well-known name, Mr. Fence.Rowland sighed before answering the phone. "Dad," he said, his voice full of exhaustion and frustration."Rowland," Mr. Fence's deep, authoritative voice rang throughout the room. "I just heard from Khalid about the police encounter. What in the world happened? Are you alright?""I am fine now," Rowland responded, his tone clipped. "It is a disaster, though. Someone put a bag of drugs in my briefcase. When the cops arrived in my office, I assumed my career was over."Mr. Fence's stern and measured voice returned after a brief silence on the line. "Do you have any idea who
