The triangular shaped garden on the back echoed with voices. The number of people cutting overgrown branches and pulling out weeds was like an army of ants. Esther stood on the front lawn, her heart had never felt so full.
The night before, she miraculously slept without a tightening on her chest and awoke without a damp pillow from her tears.
She is coming home.
The old house keeper stood shaking, even under the heat of a blazing sun. But her seventy one year old heart and body shook no longer because of longing or pain, but that of excitement.
How long had she dreamt, how many prayers had she offered to the divine just to see Gen walk the halls of the Calderon mansion once again, to hear her voice, to have her laughter echo on the walls of the house which had long missed her presence.
