Chapter 7: Mystery behind the school

Wooooosh~

An ear-piercing sound made Noah roll away as a sharp claw slice where his head was supposed to be.

Not wasting time he propelled himself upward and stomp the floor, borrowing the momentum to reach the abdomen of the dog.

Striking his axe once more at the exact point which now reveals his ribcage.

The beast roared in pain as it jumped forward and used its back foot to kick Noah tumbling a metre back.

_Shut the fuck up!_ Noah closed the message and force himself up.

He could feel some broken bones in his chest which affect his breath and movements.

His left foot was twisted, probably from being kicked.

_I have to be careful_ Thinking so, he looked at the dog which was limping towards him with a ferocious look.

_It seems like I am not the only injured one_

_How will I kill this dog? Wish I had some skill related to the foot. The fist own might be useful if I was stronger._ He thought as he bend down slowly and picked up his axe which was a little bent.

Just then inspiration struck as he look at the spot with heavy damage.

_What if I gather the momentum in my foot and dash forwards and use all my strength on that certain spot he thought_ Not wasting any more time, he steadied his breath and concentrated on the beast.

The dog was wary now as he knew this will decide the outcome of the fight.

Standing some meters apart with winds blowing.

The duo's locked gaze.

A human or should I say, an Unknown race's purple eyes against a dog's red eyes.

The killing intent from both engulfs the surrounding.

Stimulating all energies in its body. The dog uses its back foot to hurl its body forwards.

Noah stood calmly outwardly while inwardly his heart was thumbing furiously.

In a blink of an eye, the dog has already reached its front with its mouth wide open exposing the sharp razor teeth.

Noah grits his teeth hard as his arm muscles tense up. He twists his feet and barely dodges the teeth. Not wasting time, he let out a roar as he slammed the axe right to the ribcage.

The sound of bones breaking resounded and that wasn't the end as the axe hit right into the heart side.

Whimper~

The dog crashed right into the floor and slide some metres before coming to a stop.

After some seconds of waiting nervously for it to stand up.

"Finally!" Noah said with a sense of accomplishment.

He saw another goatskin drop out of the beast and happily drag himself to pick it up.

"Jayden… is that… is that Noah?" Bernard asked with a quivering voice as he and the others hide behind a building. Even with the storm blowing heavily, they were still able to see what happened.

"Guys, if I am not miscalculating. Noah might have attained level 3 or so to be able to fight that beast and you all know what that means?" Bernard's analysis which draws the sound of Salivar being gulped by the other guys.

_It means we are all dead!_ The thought echoes deep in their mind as the image of Noah slamming his axe into that dog-like beast played in their minds.

"Hey yoo Jayden and Bernard! Feels like ages since I last saw ya. Come over let's have some catch up." It was unknown when Noah spot them as he called out in a joyful tone.

_Should I escape? No, that isn't a good idea as Noah is faster than me and I am not sure if I will make it.

Maybe he won't dare touch me.

Thinking so, Jayden beckoned to Bernard and the rest to follow him as they moved towards Noah who sat down on top of the beast carcass.

"Hey, Noah…Ho…w…how are you?" Bernard asked with a nervous smile after closing a considerable gap between them.

"I am fine Bernie. After all, I feel like I can take on three of you now." He said, conveying something.

Noah turn his attention to Jayden and asked the question that has been bothering him ever since he awakes from sleep.

"Jay, what happened to me back then and how did I end up in that place?"

Although Noah raised a question in his natural accent, but to Jayden who just saw how fierce Noah could be.

It gave him an unavoidable mental trauma, he felt like Noah who was relaxing over there was a titanic man and he was just an ant.

Subconsciously lowering his head, Jayden who despite being taller and buff than Noah still spoke.

"W…well, the thing is after knocking you out. I thought you were dead because of how you bleed so the only person I could think of at that time was my uncle so… so…

I reached out to him after all, he was just a locker away and thank God he accepted to help. He promised me you will be back to your feet within 3 days "

_More like I will be used for an experiment for three days. _ Noah scoffed inwardly.

After learning the entire gist he was a bit confused.

What was such a lab doing in the school?

He could vividly remember hearing someone's voice the first time he woke up saying,

"Sir the equipments are ready and a fusion between a white streak Omega tiger and hellhound blood has been successfully made.

Also, Professor Gavin promises to use his undead rank chemical formulas to help us. I can say this test subject will be successful unlike those that either turn to zombies, mutants or die."

_Doesn't this mean some people have once been used for such a test?

What is the school's take on this?

Has all those students who the school said either eluded, dropped out or were abducted used for the test?
