Chapter 17 : Mount

The trials are over and he finally got the job, however, Leiu wasn't planning on leaving, yet.

Curiosity got the best of him as he went and checked if the repelling force is still there or not.

When he discovered that it disappeared, he wasn't shocked or even the least bit startled, such thing was predicted by him when he was doing the trials.

He already knew that his manor belonged to that 'man' he shared the body within the third Trial. It was definitely the first one, who was also in that painting.

The room he was previously at did not have anything he could take, which disappointed him a bit but he didn't give up.

He left the room and started inspecting the other rooms on the second floor, there were a lot of them, probably a dozen or so and each had its door closed.

The first thing Leiu did was count the number of rooms on the second floor, although it's a broad floor, it didn't take him much time.

18 rooms, this was the total number of rooms on this floor, it was a lot. The next thing he did was pick a random room and try to enter it.

What he didn't expect was that he couldn't open the door, it was not the repelling force, it's just that his strength was not enough to push the door, no messages popped and nothing happened.

He tried multiple times until he lost a couple of Stamina points.

He went to the next door and so on, however, every door he tried was impossible to open, even when he exerted all his strength or slashed with his Steel Sword, it still didn't bulge.

Leiu felt disappointed, he expected to find a lot of great treasures and items but his strength was not enough, which irritated him.

It was his weakness that stopped him from opening these doors, which was a true shame.

Out of the 18 doors, none opened to him, so while gritting his teeth, Leiu descended to the first floor, hoping to get something before teleporting out of this place.

He remembered that the rooms on the first floor didn't have any doors, furthermore, the rooms were extremely big, you can't even call them rooms, just a single one was multiple times bigger than his apartment.

On the first floor, there were 5 big rooms, each now had decorations which Leiu wasn't able to see previously.

Perhaps the repelling force also changed the appearance of the room, well that doesn't matter anymore.

With great expectations, Leiu entered the first room which resembled a living room, of course, there was no TV or something like that, just tables and so on.

There wasn't painting like in the office, but there was something that made Leiu overjoyed.

It was a chest, a wooden chest, it wasn't big or small, just a medium size. While unconsciously rubbing his hands, he walked toward it and opened it without wasting any second contemplating it.

After all, he was interested in what was in it, not the chest itself.

You obtained 'Echo Armor' (Inner Armor)(Unique) : Unlike normal armors, this armor can be equipped under a normal armor.

Echo Armor(Unique) : +3 all stats / +10% bonus defense when fighting in dark areas.

Echo Armor(Unique) can be upgraded if you obtain the necessary materials : Cannot show the list of the materials until you reach Lv35

The armor was surprisingly made of cotton and some leather, not a bit of metal in it, which was shocking, it seemed elastic with a bit of hardness in it.

Leiu was not an expert in these things, so after looking at it for a couple of seconds, he equipped it with a grin on his face.

He got so many good items from this place, if there were no more items then it's fine, his harvest wasn't bad and his stats increased by a great amount, he shouldn't be afraid of strong monsters for a while, soloing them should be no problem.

There were several other chests, each bigger than the other. However, he wasn't able to open them for he was too low-leveled.

After he inspected the room a bit more, he went to the next one but unfortunately, there was nothing, no chests or anything of the sort.

After inspecting the 4 rooms, there was only one room left, contrary to the previous ones, this one was small, it had some dark fog in it which made Leiu a bit suspicious.

Although he felt suspicious of the fog, that didn't mean he gave up, in fact, he became even more curious about that room and entered it immediately.

Just as he entered, a message popped.

Analyzing the intruder...'Dark Knight Class' confirmed.

You have now access to Mount Room.

'Mount?'

Mounts are creatures earned at Lv20, they were only useful for travels, and just like Classes, you get many choices by an NPC in of the main cities.

It was a bit harder to get good mounts as it was said that most people only get horses or other simple mounts, their speed was decent, but compared to other Unique Mounts, they are uncomparable.

Leiu read a post saying that the second-ranked player 'Emperor' earned a Unique Mount which is a flaming tiger, its speed is extremely fast, it's a pity the method to get it was not shown.

The message disappeared and Leiu advanced further into the room, but he didn't walk more than 5 meters before suddenly stopped walking at staring with wide eyes at what just appeared.

There are 4 Mounts available, you can only choose one, please choose wisely.

A dark horse, probably double the size of a normal one, it had a muscular body and 2 red eyes, its appearance was domineering, it looked arrogantly at Leiu, as if not intending to serve him or even allow him to touch its body.

The second Mount that appeared next to the dark horse was a turtle, it was giant turtle, the same size as the horse and it also was black, its back had a giant shell which was made of sharp scales, it didn't look much like a turtle, its eyes were jet black and from time to time, black fog would come out of its two nostrils.

Unlike the horse which was energetic, the turtle was sleepy and only glanced at Leiu once before closing its eyes and laying on the ground.

The third Mount was a leopard, it was smaller than the previous two, however, its appearance was by no means inferior to them, black fur with some violent spots shining every now and then, sharp claws in all its limbs and two ferocious eyes gazing at Leiu.

He noticed that the leopard had half of its tail cut for some reason, he didn't look at it that much as he noticed the leopard looking at him with even more ferocity when he looked at the tail.

Last but not least was a beast exactly like the one he faced in the first Trial, the only difference is that it was bigger, like the horse and turtle, it was jet black, even its eyes were black, basically, in the darkness it's impossible to see it unless you had a special spell or keen eyes.

The appearance of the beast was similar to a tiger yet at the same time it was unique, its tail was very long, probably 1 meter, it had 4 muscular limbs and a broad back.

Leiu contemplated the 4 choices, each and every one of them was good, all of the mounts were 'Unique', their movement speed was different, but he was smart enough to not judge them based on only that criteria.

What was more confusing is that the game guide only said that the mounts are used for traveling, nothing more, did they mislead the players or was it purely the truth?

Either way, Leiu have to choose one of those 4, their name hinted some things but he wished for more details and information about the mount which obviously wouldn't happen.

Time passed slowly as he was pondering on what to choose, it was really hard, there were too many good choices, he simply wanted to get them all, but he knew that it wasn't possible.

Leiu spent 10 minutes wracking his brains and trying to figure out which Mount is the best, and finally, he came to a decision.
