The NetherFrost Region and the Black Mountain are separated by a long snowy mountain range, rendering it nigh impossible to cross it by foot or even with the use of a fast mount. The only way to traverse it is through aerial means, such as a flying mount or with the help of The Sky Federation.
Additionally, the mountain range houses innumerable dangerous beasts, much stronger than the manticore Leiu is going to hunt. For this reason, which was more than enough, the Dark Knight opted for the safer but longer route.
Suffice to say, the detour he’s going to take is considerably long and boring. Unlike the path he trod on his way to Radiance City, Leiu will go around the Desert Zone, staying close to the mountain range and going through a series of desolate forests.
