The signal emitting from the orb was subtle and hard to understand, but Leiu knew that it was calling for him, asking him to use it.
The green mist was becoming denser and bigger, especially when he tightened his grip on the orb. Instead of using it, Leiu opted to destroy it and finish this once and for all. A part of Mira’s soul was trapped here and the best he could do was release it.
Unfortunately, the mist did not seem to like his attempt and soon started becoming hostile. The orb was becoming hotter and tried to wriggle out his grasp. Eventually, cracks appeared around it, resulting in even more Harrowing Mist.
Meanwhile, Dead Lamb was facing off against the transformed Falkar alone. The mage, albeit experienced and possessing diverse magical spells, wasn’t
Thanks for reading!
Once Falkar was killed, Leiu felt a wave of serenity wash over him. He gasped for breath, his eyes lingering on the slowly-disappearing green mist around his greatsword.Very much like the state of his body, the greatsword had reached its limit. After executing [Her Last Vow], the massive blade broke into many pieces. Leiu dropped the handle and raised his head, enjoying the sight of the now-normal silver moon and its surrounding stars. For a fleeting second, he could’ve sworn he had heard Mira’s soothing voice, though he knew it was his imagination. Unable to resist the fatigue any longer, Leiu fell on the ground only to be caught by a pair of gentle hands.Zeno Ver Kantika appeared behind him and caught his body, a soft smile on her face,
When Leiu regained his consciousness, it felt as if he woke up from a long slumber. His body or limbs weren’t sore, instead, there was a welcoming wave of energy that washed over him, granting him the strength to quickly sit up and inspect his dim surroundings. His heart was calm and his mind serene, after all, he remembered every second of the fight and knew that both Falkar and Ebrador were dead. He had finally avenged Mira and laid the last piece of her soul to rest.Ultimately, what had stopped him from fighting any longer was not the injuries but his Stamina. His new skill [Her Last Vow] had consumed what little Stamina he had left, thus plunging him into darkness.Even though things did not proceed smoothly, Leiu was pleased with his achievements. Not only
“Then again, I did not expect you to go out of your way to save someone amidst all that chaos. Consider me impressed.”Leiu grunted and averted his gaze, which only made the vampire chuckle.Leiu would never have thought that by saving Selphie, he would also save Fairti’s life. In more than a way, Mira’s advice helped him greatly, as much as he would like to deny it. Of course, he’s not going to make it his life’s goal to save any and every person in danger, but, surprisingly, it did make him feel a bit good to save that elf.Back then, the situation was chaotic and without his intervention, Selphie would have surely died. Admittedly, saving her took more effort than he had expected, but everything turned out to be good, eventually.
Early in the morning of the next day, Leiu was led to the Royal Castle, which was being reconstructed by hundreds of people, including hired and resident mages. Queen Elizabeth ordered them to remove the rubble and uncover the buried treasures. She also did not forget to dispatch a couple of loyal knights to closely monitor the construction workers lest they steal anything. With Zeno taking the lead, Leiu was guided to a relatively small and newly-built Vault. The walls were made of shiny white marble and the roof sustained by luminous golden pillars. It was definitely an impressive sight for something built in such a short amount of time. “These are almost all the treasures. You can pick anything you like, though I doubt you can use most of them.” In total, 9 items were chosen from the piles of treasures. Leiu first focused on the rings, which turned out to be more interesting than he anticipated. After fighting so many Royal Knights and Falkar, Leiu learnt, through the hard way, that what he lacked the most was Stamina and Stamina Recovery. He needed to be able to fight for a prolonged period of time without resting, or at least minimal resting. Therefore, the Zombie Face Ring enticed him greatly, especially since it considerably increased his Stamina Recovery while also offering him a bit of stats increase.Next was the Woeful Ring of Candice, which not only increased all of his stats by a whopping 40 points, but also granted him two passive skills. Admittedly, [Love Me] was highly situational, but [Hate Me] was a totally different thing. To permanently have his DefensRe; Hell Gate Chapter 363 : The Rewards (2)
Leiu’s Stats increased by a decent amount, but the addition of several skills was what excited him the most. [Her Last Vow], [Distortion], [Heaven Break] will make things much easier in the future. In comparison to other classes, especially mage-related, Leiu’s arsenal of skills was and still remains severely lacking. Even a warrior, for example, would have over 20 skills at Lv100 or higher. Actually, mages would have double that amount, though that’s only because they rely mostly on spells instead of normal physical attacks. [Distortion] was a skill similar to [Tainted Blood], the unique skill of the LifeBlood Boots. With the use of not one but two clones, he would have a lot more opportunities to trick clever opponents, especially hostile sentient-beings, which do not have a static and never-changing chain of spells, like World
“Ah!”Fairti let out a feminine cry and sat up, profusely sweating and looking confused. He looked around him, soon spotting Madam Skelgan, Leiu, and Zeno Ver Kantika. He clutched his chest and breathed a sigh of relief.“Well… shit! I’m alive again.”He followed up with a hearty laugh, which put a smile on everyone’s face, including Leiu.“My dear, you slept a lot. Usually, I’d make my patients rest more, but you need to move around and stretch your limbs.”The Madam covered her mouth and chuckled. After examining Fairti’s body one
“It is done.”Excluding Zeno, Elizabeth, Fairti, and the Dark Knight. There were about a dozen royal officials, including the Minister of External Affairs, who was amongst the few not replaced after the fall of Ebrador. With so many eye-witnesses, Leiu and Fairti were no longer branded as criminals or enemies of the Empire, which was a great relief. With the burden of being chased by Bounty Hunters and greedy players alike finally lifted, Leiu could be more at ease when traveling and not always worry about a surprise ambush.“You’re all excused.”The Queen sighed and looked at the officials, who respectfully bowed and left the Throne Hall.Latest Chapter
