Chapter 4 : Big Rabbit, Bad Rabbit

It was his first time seeing a level 5 rabbit, what's more surprising is its fast speed and large size; which was four to five times bigger than a normal Savage Rabbit. Furthermore, the normal rabbits, despite having a horn, looked a bit cute, but this one, it looked creepy and dangerous.

After all, a cute hamster would not be cute if it's the size of a dog, unless someone's preferences are special...

The sudden appearance of the rabbit startled Leiu, but the experience of almost 50 battles against rabbits taught him some things, he may not have become peerless or perfect in fighting, but he had more confidence, unlike his first fight.

He backed away from the rabbit's leap, then he charged at its left side while slashing his sword horizontally, it was accurate and fast, however, the outcome of the slash was absolutely outside of his expectation.

It was like slashing metal or hardwood, barely any blood came out, much less a deep cut, and the health bar above the creature decreased by a very meager amount, nonetheless, Leiu didn't give up.

He didn't turn around and run, that was cowardly. Just because a boss-like monster appeared, so what? If he runs from a dangerous monster in the beginner area then what would he do when he faces the real bosses later on, those with hideous faces and abnormally huge size.

The rabbit's screeching was even louder and more annoying than the little rabbits, it's truly frustrating, Leiu could do nothing but try to kill it faster to silence it.

Leiu didn't stop after the first attack, instead, before the rabbit could leap at him or thrust its horn at him, he attacked with the bronze sword yet again, aiming for its eye. Since it was big and he was facing its side, he could not directly attack its weak point, which is the head.

Again, the health bar decreased by another bit, Leiu didn't linger off anymore, as he attacked a third time, he didn't wait for it to counter-attack as he jumped back, avoiding the stab of the horn which came at fast speed.

Fortunately, the rabbits were not that fast, when they leapt, they were fast, but other than that, they were slow, plus, when they were near you, leaping would be useless for them, so their only means of attack would be their horns. Usually, it would not be much dangerous for Leiu who can dodge them easily after numerous fights.

But a horn-like this one, which was very sharp and long, was hard to avoid, he had to attack from blind spots and act cautiously and not attack more than needed. Maybe if he was long-ranged like an archer, then he could kite, but that was definitely not his style, close-combat was his style.

So like this, Leiu launched his offensive again, he appeared behind the big rabbit and stabbed again, dealing damage, then he retreated, he repeated this process for some time until the rabbit's health bar reached its third.

He noticed that he became a bit tired, his stamina must have decreased by a lot, unfortunately, there were no potions that restored stamina or else he would have bought some, his health is still full, which is a good thing.

His movements were really near perfect, he may be called a genius in learning, he only fought for the first time today, so it seemed absurd that he could fight like this.

Although it's a game, it's was literally like reality, except having a bit more stamina, the movement, jumps, kicks and so on were just like reality, for him to easily dodge the horns attack and leaps was beyond comprehension, he must surely be a quick learner, but for Leiu, he thought it's because the game allowed him to move easily and helped players out.

...

8 or 9 minutes passed when finally, the big body of the rabbit fell on the ground, there were cuts all over its body, Leiu kept hitting the same place on purpose to further dig into that hard fur, his precise hits managed to kill the monster, which was followed by messaged

Level +2 : all stats +2

Sword Mastery[Basic Lv1] Levelled up : When wielding a sword : You deal 5.5% more damage.

To level up two times in a row after killing it, attacking it for more or less 10 minutes was definitely worth the time, he only had 2 stamina left and he was heavily panting as he sat on the ground and looked at the large corpse of the rabbit.

The notification to get the loot popped up, he confirmed it and waited for the items to show.

Superior Rabbit fur obtained!

+1 Silver!

Basic boots : +1 agility / +1 dexterity

Steel Sword : +2 Strength

Leiu was happy to get items, plus a silver, it was really not bad, he already got more than 100 coppers which can be traded with 1 silver, so basically, he had 2 silvers.

Without hesitation, he opened his inventory and equipped the boots which looked normal without nothing special and the Steel sword, it was much better than the bronze sword and looked sharp and decent.

After equipping both items, he checked his status again with a stupid smile hanging on his face.

His stats really changed from the beginning, although it has been only a few hours, for him, this speed of change was decent enough. he also thought that there certainly are people similar to him, who may have similar or even higher stats than him. There were those martial artists in real life, who can show their prowess in the game, they held an absolute advantage, but Leiu was very determined to become stronger in here!

This was only the beginning for him, he would fight endlessly until his dodging, attacking become as perfect and flawless as possible, that's what he strived for, to kill enemies easily and quickly.

...

Leiu sat there, deep in thought for 15 or so minutes, his stamina fully recovered by then, so he got up to search for bees, he was Level 7, so perhaps dealing with them would be easier than he thought.

It didn't take him more than 5 minutes to spot a Bee, it was floating around aimlessly and roaming the forest, it had a fist-sized body and sharp needle on it's lower body, transparent wings which flapped very fast and yellow-ish body.

Once Leiu was close enough, it became hostile and flew toward him, pointing its needle at him. Unlike last time, he already predicted that it will attack and easily dodged it.

Seeing the income Bee, which flew toward him again, he dashed at it, and just when he was going to collide with its sharp needle, he ducked and stabbed with his Steel sword, it was a neat and precise thrust which were aimed at its wings.

Leiu didn't know the bee's weakness yet, so logically thinking, if he got rid of its wings, then it should be powerless, right?

Those thoughts were confirmed when he saw one of the two transparent wings easily cut off by the Steel sword, the bee was Level 4 yet its wing was cut off as if they were paper.

Losing its most important parts, the poor Bee helplessly fell on the ground, moving its body and trying to attack with the needle even in that state, but it was already hopeless.

Leiu grinned for a second before thrusting his sword into the Bee's head, instantly killing it, and receiving the experience.

He soon looted the corpse, and messages popped up again.

You obtained Bee needle

You obtained +7 Coppers.

Leiu didn't pay much attention to the Bee needle, he didn't know it's used, but if it could be sold for some money then that's great! Furthermore, the experience he got was not bad, although he was already Level 7, he got 4% when he killed it!

It may not be that much for others, but for him, it's enough for now, he was going to kill as many Bees as possible until he could easily get rid of them, just like rabbits, and maybe he would find a boss Bee like the rabbit?

He had to be lucky as he knew that finding that rabbit was a stroke of good fortune, or else he would have seen similar large rabbits roaming the forest, but it was the only one he spotted.
..

Dealing with Bees was surprisingly easier than rabbits, they were faster but when their wings are cut off, they lose all resistances and can be killed even by a child, so he focused on their wings and got rid of a lot of Bees, from the 4 quests, he already finished 3, the only one left was 'destroying the bee's home' but ever since he started 'hunting' them, he never found someplace similar to their home.

*****

Level up! all stats +1

Sword Mastery [Basic Lv3=>4] Levelled up : When wielding a sword : deal 6.5% more damage

Leiu leaned on a tree as he looked at the popped messages, after two more hours, he managed to level up 2 more times and level up his sword mastery yet again, which was a great thing, with this progress, he should certainly be amongst the top players, or so he thought.

Things may be easier for others as they formed parties, but the experience would be shared so his situation was perhaps a bit better.

He was almost Level 10, so he could get a new class, which was obviously a good thing, he would get powerful skills and perhaps more things, so why not feel joyful.

But before reaching 10, he decided to do return and get the quests, he already found a nest of Bees, nothing special, just like in real life, just bigger size. He easily destroyed it and finished the quest,
now he had to return the quests and get rewards and experience.

However, he didn't count on that much as he really didn't think that low-level quests would give that much, especially when he took them when he was Level 1 and now he was Level 9.

Furthermore, he already looted 357 coppers, with the silver he got from the big rabbit, that's almost 5 silvers, it's a decent amount for a beginner, maybe he could get nice gear from the blacksmith, but it's widely known that items in merchants and such are not that good, though it would be to get some until he loots a good set.

Currently, he was wearing a beginner armor which no stats, it's only meant to cover him. Apart from the boots he looted, the rest was trash.

But now he wanted to return, he realized that he kind of ... got lost? He was engrossed in hunting non-stop so he ran in circles and randomly roamed to kill bees, now that he thought about it, he didn't encounter any person since he killed that giant rabbit, did he go too deep or what?

He chose one direction and began heading towards it, it was the only solution. For now, there were no scrolls or skills to go back to the village, moreover, being killed would reduce his Level and stats by 1, and he absolutely didn't want that to happen.

As he continued walking straight, the atmosphere became more gloomy although it's still noon, trees became thicker and there were no more bees or rabbits, just by this, he knew he went to the opposite direction or headed deeper to the forest, just from afar, he spotted a dark wolf silhouette, it was roaming 50 or so meters from him and didn't seem to notice him.
