Chapter 10: It's been hard on you

Gu Lin Fang stood at his entrance and watched the now active streets silently, his eyes twitching from time to time as he watched the passing citizens.

'this is ridiculous' he thought.

A carriage ran across with a huge symbol of an Eagle on its side with a big 'Ye' on it. Immediately people began to give way for it.

"It's the Ye clan!!"

"Ah! Did something happen?!!"

"How would I know?"

"I heard there was a fire last night...? could it be from them?"

"Fire? Just like What happened with the Pan mansion?"

"Ayaa... are you saying it's the Mubang(Tomb gang) people again?"

"sssh! are you tired of living?...don't get me involved ok? Pig"

Several discussions broke out as the carriage rushed off.

Seeing all this, Gu Lin Fang was amused as he looked at his user interface, He was trying to search for the so called 'Pan mansion' on the system map, hoping to see if the location has any resource that could be useful for him.

As he walked, he was lost in thought ,'What was the most important thing in any world?'.

'here my dreams can come through, though Truck Kun cut my game early, I'd have to thank him...I suddenly don't know how to feel about this' Gu Lin Fang thought silently while trying to ignore how weird the situation was.

'as someone striving to be the ultimate villain! I must work on a character setting'.

"For that, Gu clan will become my most powerful tool..."He muttered calmly, In his previous world he did things mostly alone, except a few trusted aids he had no minions to toss around...So he decided this time, he would make a lot of changes...He would go all out to stun the universe! If there was any.

It didn't take much time to arrive in front of the new slaves that were without cultivation, the four of them were going to be the ones handling the job of servants here for now.

It was light green in color and of course much lower in quality than the blue grade robes he and Gu Linju were wearing, you could wear it over your normal clothes, so he gave it to them as uniforms.

He then says, "My instructions are simple and I won't be repeating myself...forget your past and what you did before you came here, you are now part of my Gu clan... your are not allowed to bring shame to this clan or else...", He paused and stared at them as they began wailing and holding their heads. He only stopped ten seconds later, "Don't Forget, your life is in my hands now...as long as you do your part, you have nothing to lose".

He looked at the tall man in the group of four, he had strong arms and droopy eyelids, "You must be Wei Fan yes?".

"Ye...yes! Lord Gu!" He answered with a hoarse voice, even though Gu Lin Fang didn't do anything, He seemed very intimidating.

"From now on you are Gu Wei Fan, you all will be a part of the Wei generation as well. Do well and you can bring your families later, if you have any. Rewards and punishment will be giving accordingly, so do your best to work hard and remove your slave status... if you have relatives with cultivation talents as well, we will do our best to train them". He kept on speaking in a cool manner with no changes in expression.

"Four of you will be charge of the future servants, Gu Wei Fan will be in charge of the four of you and will report directly to me."Gu Lin fang looked them in the eye, one by one before saying, ""Clean yourself up and Change into these clothes, your work starts from today, so clean up the house as well, Wei Fan, come and see me once this is done".

"Yes Lord Gu" The four of them were elated and shocked, as they knew what this meant. A change in status from commoners, even though they were servants, they now had better status than the normal commoners.

Normally, as a Noble clan with some history, the Gu clan were well known once upon a time before the Era of Overlords, where they kept losing land and power. They had been part of the few clans who happened to be loyal to the Ruling dynasty at the time.

But Luckily, People in this world called "Eternal Flame", are recognized in two ways, commoners and Nobles, People and clans, It doesn't matter if you are a cultivator or not, except you're a member of a sect with high prestige or a member of a clan!, you mean nothing. In fact, the cultivators have it lucky, as long as you are strong enough...you and your family can seek refuge with a clan, getting a job as a guard was considered good, if they were feeling generous, you get the right to bear the clan name.

The really powerful ones come as guests and might even be pulled into the clan through benefits or marriage.

The Gu clan's founding patriarch of back then, according to the system bio, had been a commoner, one of those who rewarded for his meritorious service and gained a Noble status, even the clan cultivation method was a reward from that period.

Over the years, the clan had been through several rise and falls due to the civil unrest, but they managed to survive and became one of the minor clans under the {Sun Desert Faction}.

Too bad this Time, it was on an all time low and had lost a lot of prestige ever since 60 years ago...

Added with the fact that they had been hit hard again a few days ago, the Major clans of faction like the Kong clan won't even be bothered about the infighting in the state.

Most likely the Clan's resources and lands would have been shared, Gu Lin Fang wasn't interested in the old place anymore. Instead he wants something else that can bring him toe to toe with the major clans of the {Sun desert faction}.

As long as they were a part of the main clans in the faction, having a place in the high table, the Clan's business would become the faction's business. Any problem faced would be shared by the high table, unless it's an official duel between two clans.

The Sects on the other hand, had cities under their jurisdiction and is always seeking to find a way to swallow clans or destroy them.

"Quickly clean up yourselves!" He says icily, bringing them out of their dreams and they ran to do as he says.

Now He was left with the cultivator slaves who were in Coma.

He first confirmed the other miscellaneous clothes in his backpack, he still has a few more light green Han Fu suits he gave the servants as uniforms, it gave a +10 external and internal defense , there's the Dark blue colored Gong fu robe was at the green grade with a +25 external and internal defense, it's practically a light armor, though it looked like normal attires... it's just right for these new mansion guards.

It has to be known that the blue grade Gong fu robe on him was only a +50 on the two stats aside from the 5% resistance on lightning Qi.

With this thought, he decided to let their spirit roots accept Qi.

Slowly they began to wake up with different expressions as Gu Lin Fang watched on with his hands tucked in his sleeves.

He kept on thinking of different ideas for his character setting, he never had any plans when registering for the 'game' because he never thought he would be coming to this world.

He had to even consider the players as well, 'right! I can do some experiments on them first...'

"Senior uncle Fang?!!!! wait, how did you become so young." A youth that looks about 24-26 years of age cried out with a relieved expression while looking ashamed.

 Gu Lin Fang on the other hand, simply muttered "Right, there's this guy as well".

'It didn't take long to find him, surprisingly enough, this fellow was a nephew to him and his late wife.'

"Gu Li Cheng" He finally read out speechlessly as he eyed the young man's bio.

A child of A Gu clan member and of the Fu Mei Jin, His mother died during an enemy attack along with his father a few days ago...as the personal apprentice of the Weapon forging elder, He was lucky enough to be in the refinery room when the attack began but was soon found by a few Wu clan members who he used his peak foundation establishment stage to suppress before escaping.

He barely Escaped and was hidden by a slave girl who later sold him out in exchange for freedom. Drugged and caught by the Chang clan slavers, He ended up in Iron Crow City where he was unconscious ever since.

Gu Lin Fang looked at the weeping man, who seemed relieved to see a relative all of sudden, He couldn't help but say, "It's been hard on you".
