Chapter 19: Attributes

After finishing up with Gu Yu Xing, Gu Lin Fang had a servant lead him to a room to rest before continuing to study the system and other tutorials.

It was already daybreak by the time he began rounding up with his study.

"there's just too many complicated things, I'm afraid if I was a player I would already frustrated.

This game world was set in a period of strife and intrigue during what closely resembles the Ming Dynasty period of ancient China in his old world but in a much bigger setting.

And the real interpretation for reputation was divided into two, Chivalry(Good) and Guilt(Evil).

This determines the player's or in his case NPC reputation and alignment in the world's Jianghu System.

The world itself is divided into several parts, which are the North, southern River Belts, Central plains, Eastern seas, the western highlands.

Each of this places are then further divided into small pieces.

So reputation is in the same way, divided according to your location.

For instance, Gu Lin Fang appears in the Northern desert, Will have his reputation reset each time he moves from the Northern desert to the central plains.

So unless he upgrades his reputation into Gold tier, there by turning it into a World reputation, it would keep resetting.

It starts from the {Stone I-V}, {Iron I-V}, {Bronze I-V}, {Silver I-V}, {Gold I-V}, {Platinum I-V}, with {Diamond I} being the last and final level reputation one can get.

At the Gold tier, your reputation has already began to spread, bringing you more power and recognition from the world.

Once you are a silver tiered NPC, your life value automatically gains a chance to become a minor boss character, it remains the same all the way to {Gold III} where you gain another chance to change your life value.

So because of this, Gu Lin Fang set a small goal for himself.

"Raise reputation to Silver tier before the official release date!" Gu Lin Fang's eyes watched the rising sunlight invade the study and suddenly realized, "I missed yesterday's cultivation!!".

A knock suddenly came from the other side of the door.

"Master, someone from the Changfeng Merchant house has come to pick up the [Blue heart flower]!" 

'I forgot about sending it to him!'

"Come in" As he spoke, he pulled out the item from his new spatial ring. Earlier, Young Master Chang ye had used a Blue grade spatial ring to deliver his items, despite it's rarity. So Gu Lin Fang swapped for his old green grade ring and gave it to Gu Yu Xing as a welcome gift.

With his arm placed above the brocade box, He looked at the approaching Gu Wei Fan and asked nonchalantly, "Where is Li Cheng?".

Gu Wei Fan was stunned for a second before replying, "Young Master Li is presently practicing martial arts at the main courtyard.

"Very well, tell the guard standing at the entrance to go eat something. I'll be working in here for a while!"After given it some thoughts he added a few more instructions and chose to continue reading.

Basic Attributes:

•Health Points: If your character HP falls below 50%, the character gets cold with a pale expression, this shows that there's something wrong and if it falls below 30%, it

gets cold sweats, below 15% brings weakness and below 5% you are unable to move a muscle.

•Energy(Qi): character's internal force. Most moves require it. Energy can be recovered quickly by meditating, or taking a pill. It will also slowly recover every 5 seconds while out of combat relative to the value of Stamina attribute. While having a buff to help recover Energy, the Energy bar will be brighter as opposed to its normal blue color

•Spirit Root: This is what determines your Qi attribute which ranges from Yin, Yang, Hard, Soft, and Tai Chi. Which then advances further and gains elemental damage due to the users cultivation technique and transforms into something like Yin lightning, yang flame, Soft earth (mud) etc. This is affected by several factors, body constitution or Bloodline and so on.

•Brawn - increases Melee Damage, External Attack Critical Hit and the maximum amount of character HP

•Dexterity - increases Ranged Damage, External Attack Accuracy, Evade and the amount of Block Endurance

•Breath - increases Internal Attack Damage and gives maximum Energy.

•Spirit - increases Internal Attack Accuracy, Internal Attack Critical Hit, Internal Defense, maximum Energy and the rate of Energy recovery. If you land an internal crit hit, the bonus value is the amount since of spirit you have.

•Stamina - increases HP, Resilience and Block Endurance

After reading this, he brought up his basic attributes which wasn't normally shown.

Nutrition: 80/150

Reputation: {Bronze IV}

Spirit root: Yin(water)

Brawn: 250

Dexterity: 384

Breath: 610

Spirit: 440

Stamina: 365 ]

Gu Lin Fang frowned at the sight of his attributes page. Naturally he has no idea what a normal Nascent soul realm experts attributes should look like but his spirit root was cause for concern.

Before he had learned the skills he had just because he had them and the previous occupant of his body learned skills blindly!.

Infact, It should be the same for every layman in the cultivation world.

To have more powerful attacks and maximize his damage output, he just found out that his skill composition was wrong!.

Out of his six martial techniques, only three was purely Yin while two were yang and the last one being Soft.

Gu Lin Fang unequipped the yang skills without hesitation, "The 'Soft' is still fine but I need to find Yin related skills now that I'm short on two martial techniques.

Luckily the Orange skill set happens to be Yin or else I wouldn't know what to do.

Hehehe, perhaps I would have gone on a quest to find out how to make it work". 

Another knock suddenly came at this time, "Master, the Changfeng Merchant house envoy left the invitation for tonight's auction"

"Bring it in" He calmly responds as the door opened shortly after, Gu Wei Fan approached with a small smile and place a scroll on the table before leaving immediately.

"This people, a scroll for an invitation?, Tsk Tsk tsk" Gu Lin Fang shook his head in amusement as he read through, "VIP huh ..."

Another knock came once again, accompanied by Gu Lin ju's voice "good morning Father, it's me, may I come in?".

Gu Lin Fang stared blankly for a bit before a smile subconsciously spread across his face, "Come, come!"

Somewhere in the Inner walls, at a place called 'Fragrant inn', with several people coming and going, business was booming.

An old man could be seen seated in a corner drinking wine with teenage boy and girl sitting opposite him. their table was oddly silent compared to the rest of the tea house.

"Uncle Ji I..." The young girl suddenly spoke.

"Sshh... what did I tell you to call me when we are outside?!" Gu ji Hung reprimanded her with a frown, the boy could only shake his head at her actions.

"Elder Hung, don't you think we should just visit the so called Master Gu directly?, Why are we here?" Gu Li Mei was feeling rather impatient and couldn't seat still. If Gu Li Cheng was here, he would immediately recognize his sister...

"What if, it's a trap set by the Lu and Wu clan?" The young man counter asked from the side.

'if only you both had even a little of brother Li Wei or Lin fang's patience...sigh' Gu Ji Hung's face was filled with nostalgia as he gulped down his wine in one go.
