Chapter 3: The Forbidden Land

I posed the question to the king of the Norem Kingdom, who was seated to my left at the dinner table, "Can't I proceed to be an adventurer without studying in the S High?"

He responded in an impersonal voice, "You can if you're in the Kingdom of Lerand. At that precise moment when he mentioned that kingdom, I was rendered speechless.

Too bad, I'm banned from that kingdom too. I just didn't expect that there was something like that in that land. I wish I had joined before I was deported from their border.

"Why is it needed?"

"The Guildmasters are in the building, watching the students covertly. In the first year of your education. To make their choice public, Guildmaster Choosen Day is approaching. The king silently sipped his tea as Kyle continued, "Those who didn't get by them will stay at school to practice, and the day will come when they will get their chance."

"Why is 15 the minimum age required to enroll in the school?"

Kyle continued, "Many young people died when they were sent to the mine to investigate the interior. All of them have powers, but because of their young age, they were unable to protect themselves from the monsters hiding in the depths of that mine. The king of the X Kingdom himself decided to change the policy and make those who will participate in S High adventurers 15 years of age and up. His facial expression makes it clear that he is extremely grieved by the young man's fate.

Due to mishaps, I now understand why children under the age of fourteen are not allowed. I don't know why the kids were brought there right away, though, and that's the only thing I can't figure out.

Do they believe they will always live? A somebody with strong abilities? Because of their youth and incomplete understanding of their skills, we cannot change this truth.

"I get it now." I let out a soft breath before touching the back of my head to scratch it. “Too bad! I want to start being an adventurer.”

"Why can't you just experience being a kid? That's not a bad idea either." The king said, expressionlessly.

“Lord Morzen's right.”

"Eh? But I don't want to." I answered them casually.

I no longer require the feeling of being a youngster. I have to grant my desire now; I can't wait much longer." It's as though my heart is just concerned with it and cannot help but want to experience the things that other people go through.

I would already know what to do if I could alter everyone's destiny. despite how often I experienced it. Lol!

And I'm not young anymore. I have experienced this in my world, the love of a parent, and even of those who are our subordinates.

“You're young,” [King Morzen]

"It doesn't matter."

“Hmm. Then, I don't have any choice. There's a land that you can train yourself—”

"Really?!" I even stood up from my seat when the king mentioned those words.

My eyes glowed with delight at what I discovered. That's exactly what I'd like to hear from the King. I'm not interested in training; I'm simply curious about what's inside that land. Is a dungeon present? Treasures?

I can't wait to see that land!

“L-Lord Morzen, don't tell me you're talking about that land?! It isn't safe for Raze, for a child like him!” Kyle protested hysterically. It also stood up from sitting. Worry was evident in his eyes, and there was also a lot of annoyance, but I didn't know what it was for.

What is there in that place?

“Yes, the Forbidden Land. Also, it's Raze's decision,"

“Got it!” I even raised my left hand with a wide smile after hearing that word.

"Think before you insist, Raze. That land is dangerous, and nobody can enter it. However, even if you can, you will be unable to escape the vicious creatures that are imprisoned there."

"I'm okay with that. I'm prepared to pass away, but not until I show that I'm more than a child.

“Then, that's decided. Tomorrow morning I'll take you there, Raze.”

"Yes, King Morzen."

“Call me father—”

“…”

'I'm sorry, I can't.'

The night ended, and the day finally arrived. I have everything I need ready to carry to the Forbidden Land. I'm not sure how long I'll be in that territory—how many days, weeks, months, or years. even though I wasn't instructed by the king to bring the necessary items. Because I'm a smart person, I simply do it.

But now, I'm more concerned with whether I can enter. Kyle claimed that no one, not even a human, had been allowed to enter. Additionally, the Norem Kingdom is not responsible for it.

Even if others wanted to take that territory, they couldn't. It seems that there is a strong barrier that surrounds the entire area of the Forbidden Land. People with evil plans inside are driven away.

But even if someone can enter the Forbidden Land, their life inside is still not safe. There are rumors that this cave is inhabited by different types of demons, monsters, and half animal-half human.

So no one can survive a day or even an hour after entering the land. Especially guarded by one of the strongest of the demon race.

That's what I found out. That information is decades old. What if this is not the real truth?

However, whatever is inside, it is a key for me to gain further knowledge of every realm of this world.

"Raze."

"Yes!"

He used his power of teleportation instead of riding the chariot. So in less than a minute we arrived at a secluded place and in front was a strong energy surrounding the other forest.

It's normal to look at, you won't see any guarding monsters or demons. However, you can feel a strange energy coming from it.

“This is the Forbidden Land. Now that you see, Raze. I will not allow you to proceed as you wish,”

"Huh? Why?!”

"It's dangerous. You're still a kid. My conscience can't—wait!” before the king could say what he was going to say I quickly ran away from his direction.

I didn't hesitate to stop near the barrier on the other side of the land. Until I could feel myself appearing in the other territory. I also saw in front of me the king who was trying to break the barrier by punching it.

He also used his fire ability to weaken it, but because of the greater amount of a mysterious barrier they have... he can't break it.

"I'm sorry, King Morzen. Yes, I'm still young, but not in my mind. When I survive this land I want you to be the first to open before me. I want you to be the first to congratulate me on my success. So don't worry, I'll be back!” I even smiled widely to show him that everything will be okay.

After that, I rolled my back to turn my attention to something else. I can still hear the king's continued destruction of the barrier. But I noticed that there is something different inside the Forbidden Land.

It just looks like a small place. But don't be fooled by what you see because it can expand depending on the energy you release. The only thing I can't explain is why it doesn't change if there are different types of creatures here.

Is that plant in the Forbidden Land? What people in my world always mention to me that can help me grow? Then I want to see it and kill it.

And that's my mission!

I finally entered the remote forest. I see plants that I have never known. They move, wherever their mouths are placed. When I turned to the trees, there were roots surrounding the tall tree, those roots were also bringing out human hands but they were small.

Right now it's not moving, I think it's sleeping at this time. So I continued my walk.

But I also stopped when I felt an approaching energy coming from behind me. It was quite strong so I quickly jumped up to avoid the oncoming spear.

I saw in front of me the one guarding this territory. He has dark skin, a damaged old cloak with a crescent moon-style tattoo, and an underline on the center of the crescent on his back too.

I only knew that he was the guard because of the spear he was holding. Kyle showed it to me last night to urge me not to stay in this place.

Even if the guard here switches, the weapon they hold should not change. Because it can kill with just an illusion of power. When you are wounded by a spear, there is a chance that it will take you back to your most hated past.

"What is a lowly person doing in this territory?!" Even its voice is terrifying.

He is a kind of demon. There's no helping it, let's fight them!
