The ogres, who grunted in unison, had a significant numerical advantage over Vandread. They all looked at him as if he were the next piece of fresh meat that they were going to have for dinner.
However, Vandread was not going to sit there and passively watch them take him down so easily..
As best he could, he attempted to use his own strength to regain his footing. He intended to return and completely wipe them out this time.
It makes no difference to him whether or not taking such action would result in actually letting the kingdom of Dizencia know that he was still alive.
He wanted to prove these hideous creatures that he was far superior amongst them. And that they don’t have what it takes to defeat him.
Therefore, despite the fact that the impact had broken his left arm, Vandread raised his right arm and gathered a quantity of energy in his palm one more time before uttering the word "Haltos!"
And as he witnessed how the ogres’ movement were slowed down by his attempt. He immediately grin in the belief that this one was for his revenge for what they’ve done to him.
Vandread spread his palm as he began to recite the mana absorption spell once more.
‘Vandread, hold on!’ The system warned him, but Vandread refused to obey.
He continued to cast the incantation with the serious intent of absorbing all of their mana. “Thirst of leech, come right now…” Vandread’s palm was already seeing how a gigantic ball of red crystal orb manifested.
All the ogres around him bellowed in pain and that their noises were too much for Vandread to bear. Their noises were much more than a quake that has been tormenting even Vandread from his concentration.
Good enough that he was still able to focus despite their bellows.
It was astoundingly becoming so huge as he mentioned each of the words, “bring upon the orb that sucks up thee life…” But when Vandread yelled, “Hirudyneas!" he wasn’t able to dodge the wooden trunk held by the ogre as it swung towards his direction.
The impact caused a crack with the red orb and Vandread immediately saw that a lot of the spirit energy he absorbed from the ogres were already leaking from the crack. It was so swift that the red crystal orb was also becoming small in his palm.
Before it completely shrink, He immediately consume the red crystal ball in his palm just like what he did previously.
The amount of energy he absorbed this time was able to cure his broken left arm. He felt rejuvenated once more as if he hadn’t got hit by the ogre. With that, he was determined to return the favor of what they had done to him by slaying them all.
Despite the warning of the system, Vandread still refused to listen at all. He was consumed by greed to annihalate all of the ogres that stood in front of him at the moment. And at this rate, it would seem that nothing would stop Vandread from doing so.
Back when he still have all of his spirit energy, Vandread was heavily feared by his adversaries for his ability to wield the spirit sword. It was a sharp and powerful sword that could even cut through the most strongest spiritual barrier.
His recent battle with the wild wyvern in the deathstorm region cost him almost his spirit energy but with the help of his spiritual sword, he was able to cut through the wild wyvern and claim his victory against the dreadful dragon.
It was that spiritual sword that made Vandread famous all over Dizencia. And right now that he was able to gather up enough strength and spirit energy. He would use it against the ogres.
"Durendis inferno," Vandread uttered as he spread his right arm.
It that split moment, a bright line shone from the length of his arm extending across his hand.
The line of bright light began to grow and glimmer with beam of brightness. It was so bright that anyone would have a hard time figuring out what it was that transpired on Vandread's arm.
The ogres who were sorrounding Vandread took their slow retreat but unfortunately, Vandread saw what they were plottiny and he wouldn't just let them slip away so easilly.
"Don't even think about running away from me. I won't let any of you leave this place alive." Vandread's words was provocative that it instantly triggered some of the ogres in the frontline to charge him.
It was a straightforward attack that Vandread had anticipated would happen. Ogres were barbaric creatures who doesn't have war tactics in mind. They would charge head on to fight their foes or hunt down their preys.
But since it was Vandread, with his spiritual sword whom he was able to manifest back, he immediately swung his sword and cut them in halves instanteously.
The other ogres at the back was taken aback but it didn't clearly made them all run from it. Instead, the rest of them decided to charge forward and risk defeating Vandread for their fallen comrades and for their survival.
"So, you all decided to surrender yourself to death. Then i'd be pleased to slay you all!"
'Vandread, that's enough!'
He was only halted when the system came back to talk within his thoughts once more.
But Vandread just mockingly replied, "Hey, not now will you? Can you see that I am busy right now?"
'This isn't something you could decide for as your plaything or not.'
"Do i even look like I'm playing? Can't you understand that what i am doing was merely a return of favor?"
'You've done more than enough if it's a favor that's similar to satisfying your revenge. Just look around you.'
Vandread then wandered his eyes around for a bit before places his concentration back against his adversaries. He couldn't just let his guard down while he's having a conversation witht the system.
Despite his take downs, he was still heavily outnumbered by what's left of the ogres from a while ago.
"I have to finish what i've started. Stop meddling with me for now." Vandread was serious in his tone. He was determined to kill every ogre that comes his way.
'you knew the consequences for killing them all don't you? If you–'
But before the system could even finish what she was about to tell him, Vandread promptly charge forward.
‘If you won’t be persuaded then you must be prepared to face the outcome of this later on.’
Even with the system who had been reminding him, still, he completely ignored what the consequences of annihilating all of the ogres in his presence may have brought. His aim at that moment was to satisfy his thirst for vengeance and kill.
"Die you scoundrels! You all don't deserve to live!" he even yelled while slicing each of the ogre who comes his way.
Vandread went on a rampage. It was a killing spree for him. He ignored the bellows and tremors each of those ogres he slaughtered.
Thick green splashes of ogre blood scattered across the place and even on Vandread's skin. The remains of those he slayed piled up from the other dead bodies killed much earlier.
It would appear as though Vandread thirst for the blood won’t be coming to an end until the very last one of those ogres was killed.
And as Vandread was about to take on another ogre, his attack was immediately blocked by an unknown individual who hampered his spiritual sword with an elemental spear made of water.
As Vandread cocked his head to the side, he was mystified to discover who it was that blocked his attack…
It was a woman. A woman who appeared to have a robust physique landed in front of him and used a court sword to block his attack. Despite its antiquity and apparent rust, the court sword was formidable enough to fend off Vandread's spiritual weapon. For the time being, at least, it was as though the woman’s court sword was able to absorb the energy coming from Vandread’s spiritual sword as his thirst for masacre slowly faded away along with the depreciation of the radiant light surrounding his spiritual sword. As soon as Vandread realized what the woman was capable of, he made an immediate move in the opposite direction by taking a few steps backward. He proceeded with extreme caution in order to forestall the possibility of the woman completely ingesting all of his spiritual energy. However, before Vandread could even realize what was happening, the woman was already able to absorb sufficient amounts of spiritual energy from him. This was sufficient to cause him to gasp for air aft
“Suicidal?”“Yes. If you didn't know, I've been watching you from afar since those guards got rid of you here in ogre territory. And I have to say that trying to kill them all at once and soak up their spiritual energy is a suicide mission.”“You think you know it all, huh? How am I supposed to believe someone who has just snatched what I had been hunting?”"Who are you hunting?" Oh, the ogres. How petty. I don’t prey on weaklings. You can have them all and remain a frozen corpse forever.”"What on earth are you talking about right now?"There followed a wicked grin on the woman's face. "Didn't you know that their mana is infused with lethal poison, making it undesirable for anyone to absorb spirit energy from these creatures? This poison was so potent that it would kill any living thing that ingested it.”Vandread was astounded by what he had just heard. At first, he didn't buy it, and it wasn't until the mountain lion finally stopped roaring and making piercing cries as it fell to t
Vandread was holding his breath as he waited for the woman to respond to his question. He was completely perplexed by what was taking place, but instead of providing an explanation, she gave him another sly grin and then pulled him closer to her chest. She coaxed Vandread to take a breast to his mouth and said, "You wanted the antidote, right? Here it is then.” She told him.Vandread's mouth was forced to suck the woman's breast, and his eyes widened in shock. It felt awkward, but at the same time, comforting. As he sucked milk from her breast, Vandread had the sudden impression that his mouth was moving of its own accord. As Vandread had anticipated, there was a discernible distinction in the flavor. It was not normally rich and sugary like fresh milk. It has a honey and eucalyptus after-taste infused together, and it was slowly becoming an addiction for Vandread. As Vandread persisted in sucking milk from the woman's breast, he abruptly became aware of a surge of spiritual energy
What the woman had just listened to was so unbelievable that she could hardly grasp it. Her condition was already poor, but what she had just listened to could have made her feel even worse about herself. "Don't try to trick me into thinking I'm stupid! Just put me out of my misery right this instant and kill me!" Despite her obvious difficulty in communicating, the woman insisted. On the other hand, Vandread did not seem to be the kind of person who would eventually back down so quickly. Even more so when he realized how much he stood to gain from achieving his objective, he would press forward with unwavering determination. Vandread cocked his head to one side in order to get a better look at the woman's face. They were in such close proximity to one another that the tips of their noses actually touched. The woman was caught off guard by the unexpected move, and all of a sudden she felt ashamed of the predicament they were in. Unfortunately, she could not push him away from her
Vandread eventually uttered, “You…” When he caught sight of Shesmaire once more in her full strength. He was completely dumbfounded by what he was seeing at this very second. Vandread recalled that Shesmaire was in a very weak state when they first arrived, and he had to help her. Even as she entered the temple, he helped her to her feet and supported her as she walked. When Vandread saw how quickly she was able to regain her strength, he was taken aback and couldn't understand how it was possible. "I'm sure you're curious about how I was able to get all of my spirit energy back, isn't that right?" Shesmaire asked. She was standing there with her arms crossed over her chest. Shesmaire waited for Vandread's response, but it seemed as though he had made the decision to remain silent or more likely that his state of shock had overcome him. Therefore, Shesmaire just started walking forward outside the temple. In order to speak with Vandread, she approached him from a closer vantag
A secluded pavilion could be found in the mountains that stretched across the northern part of Dizencia. This pavilion gained notoriety for the hundreds of mistresses who kept the place lively. It had a hot bath, which served as a witness to the steamy activities that were going on around the place. The singing of birds that were hiding among the scattered trees blended in with the constant sound of water dripping from the bamboo fountain. These creatures could be heard singing their hymns, and they were joined in the chorus by the few cicadas that were scurrying around in the grass. Women of varying types chatted and laughed among themselves as they attended to the needs of their one and only master while he delighted in the pleasures of a steamy, hot bath with them. In fact, one of the women was supposed to pour and serve him drinks on a scheduled basis. And anyone who lived close by could hear them clearly. Most especially, Vandread, who was the master
After a short soak in the steaming water, Vandread stood up. And rather than feeling ashamed of themselves, the crowd from his harem celebrated the torch that was hidden between his thighs. Princess Camilla, on the other hand, gave the impression that she was completely unfazed by what she was seeing. When Vandread's manhood was brazenly displayed in front of her, it seemed as though he didn't even find it necessary to make fun of her in the slightest. “What the hell are you even doing here?” After being completely taken aback, Vandread turned to Camilla and asked. His finger was set firmly in her direction. The expression on Vandread's face communicated a horrified reaction that went beyond simple shock to a much deeper level. “Was that the right way to greet your wife after all this time?” Princess Camilla also responded to him in the form of a question. They both stopped as they stared at each other with a blazing glare for a brief period of time. There was nothing that Va
Once more, an impediment that posed a threat to Vandread's life had to be overcome by him.‘I am waiting for your answer, Vandread.’ And again, the voice repeated itself to him.And since Vandread was already without any other options, he had no choice but to agree, as evidenced by the fact that he responded with "Fine!"If there was anything that got Vandread's attention, it was the sudden realization that he was able to breathe underwater that only just occurred to him at this very moment. It's possible that he was too preoccupied with the presence of this strange yet somewhat familiar voice talking inside his h
