7. The hellish training!

Just when the students were facing the hellish training, a certain protagonist was making his way towards the class, unaware of the ongoing chaos in the class.

Although he was a bit nervous since he was already late, but he had an unbreakable confidence supporting him. He was sure that he can pass this hurdle too, as he had been doing the same, since his childhood.

After a few minutes of walk, Mark was already in front of the door. He opened the door without hesitation and walked inside but he was horrified by what he saw inside the class. The class did not have any desk or table, rather it was a huge hall with an open ceiling and the strangest thing was that several golems were chasing the students.

The students had desperate expression on their face and were trying to dodge the attacks of the golems somehow. It was clear that they were already at their limits and can collapse at any minute. Exhaustion was clear from their expressions. He even saw the same girl who caught him in the morning among the students.

It seems she is also his classmate and will be accompanying him in his academic journey. But right now, the strict expression was nowhere on her face. She was panting heavily and was focused on dodging the golem attack, she was obviously in better state than other students but it was clear that she will end up exhausted eventually.

It was as if the class was under attack by a group of golems and the students were running all around the hall in an unordinary fashion, it was a total chaos. No one was paying attention to the newcomer who has just entered the class and were busy running around in hope of running away from these golems.

Just as Mark was getting confused on what’s going on in the class, he felt as if he was lifted from the ground and was floating in the air. He observed himself and found that he was covered by a bluish aura and was floating towards the front of the class where the teacher’s desk was.

He tried to resist the aura but it was to no avail. He simply stopped resisting; he knew that he has been caught by someone too high in rank than him. It was obvious why he can’t resist.

After the Bluish aura dragged him to the front, he was dropped directly to ground and fell on the floor with his face facing the ground. He got up to look who was the one to do such a thing. But he was not able to find anyone at all.

“I am here boy.” (Neo)

Mark looked behind him and found a person standing only a few meters away from him. He was surprised because he was not able to sense anything before, and he didn’t perceive someone around him.

It should be taken in consideration that ever since he awakened the class Hero, his perception has increased tremendously and now he is able to perceive everything around him easily. Thinking that if such a terrifying person attacked him, he would not even be able to know what happened at all, a shiver ran down his spine, and he started to sweat a bit now.

“Hmm, so you are Mark Asperl, why are you late kid?” (Neo)

The person’s face was as expressionless as ever, but his eyes had a cold and arrogance deeply engraved in them. It was as he was being looked on by a terrible demon, who can pounce on him at any time. Bluish current of aura was sparking around the person and he had an immense presence to him.

“uh, I was busy because of the work given to me by the teachers for a bit. Excuse my rudeness, but who might you be sir?” (Mark)

“Hmm, well I will forgive you for today but be sure not to be late next time. I am Neo Kain your teacher from now on.” (Neo)

“You just came on right time, join the rest of the class in the training.” (Neo)

Neo flicked his authority card and Mark was directly teleported right in front of 3 golems, the golems directly started to pounce on him. Mark was surprised by the sudden change in the surroundings and was not able to react fast enough to respond to the incoming golem attack.

A huge punch landed directly on his face and he got blown away several meters. The students who were still able to manage dodging started to laugh at him, since not even a single student has yet to be blown away, yet Mark who just came has already been blown away. It's just the difference between correct timing, yet it created such a huge difference.

Seeing others students laugh at him Mark got irritated now, he immediately got up and rushed towards the golem to fight head on, but even if Mark is the protagonist, how can he just cross kill such a strong opponent directly.

Even the heavenly luck can’t go against the law of world. It can only interfere indirectly not directly. If luck was a physical stat like strength stat, the protagonists would have been undefeatable by anything in the world.

These golems are all at the peak of Novice rank and are at Lv-3, while Mark is still only at Lv-1 which is the bottom of the Novice rank. The power structure of this world is like this:

Lv-1 to Lv-3 (Novice)

Lv-4 to Lv-6 (Veteran)

Lv-7 to Lv-9 (Master)

Lv-10 to Lv-12 (Grand Master)

Lv-13 to Lv-15 (King)

There is said to be ranks above king rank but it is only mentioned in myths and legends nowadays with no official record of anyone being above the king rank. Not to mention the individual of King rank are also very few. There’re only three known individuals in the world who are confirmed King rank.

One is the Dragon King, Second the Elf King and lastly the Beast King of the Werewolf race. Yeah there’s no King rank individuals in human race yet the human race is flourishing in the world without any problem, because the people at the king rank seldom acts and always maintains safety of their race rather than attacking others.

It is due to a pact between races that King rank individual will only take part in battles if the race is on the verge of annihilation or is facing a major disaster. Due to which grand masters are the mainstream and as humans have the greatest number of grandmasters, they region supreme over the world.

Not to mention Mark was already weaker than the golems, he didn’t have any real combat experience yet he was still just at the starting line of his journey. Thus, he was again beaten up by the golems brutally.

“You should try to avoid the golems first and get used to its movements first” (Neo)

Mark was reminded by Neo, he gritted his teeth and decided to dodge just like others in the end. He was not a fool after all, he knew that he can’t win against them yet.

He glances at the place where Neo was, it seemed Neo was having a great time, he had the expressionless face as always, he had a cup of tea in his hand and obviously he seemed to be enjoying the students being bullied by these golems.

The screams and injuries of the students seemed not affecting him at all. Instead he was watching the students run all around like idiots intently. This caused Mark’s mood to worsen even more, he didn’t know why he had to undergo all this. Clearly this thing had no real purpose in his eyes at all.

But Mark didn’t want to become a laughingstock for others by collapsing before the ones less talented than him, how will he still be considered the protagonist if he can’t even dodge a mere golem which seeming had a brain made of rocks.

Every student was desperately trying to avoid the golem attacks, and were just trying their best to somehow pass this ordeal. Now the only thought they had in mind is:

‘when will the class end?’

Yet to their despair the time seems to have slowed down considerably and every movement was taking a huge toll on their bodies.

“The class will not end until you all atleast make a single golem stop among them all” (Neo)

“It depends on you; how will you make that happen” (Neo)

Hearing the mocking voice of Neo all the students became irritated now they were all just waiting to beat the crap out of Neo, but unfortunately for them it will still take an extreme training for them to even touch Neo.

As time passed leaders among the students started to realize that they can’t hold much longer at this pace and they need to finish it all faster. Some quick-thinking students started to gather their colleagues and groups started to form, until one individual combined them all with her unique voice and leading capabilities:

“Everyone, gather around the golem in the middle, we will attack that one, while half of us will deflect the other golems, from coming near, quick we don’t have much time!” (Mira)

“Yeah! Follow Ms. Mira!”

“I will deflect the golems quickly finish the one in the middle.”

“We can win, let’s go!”

A strange sense of comradeship and brotherhood started to take its roots among these young soldiers unconsciously, without their own knowledge. The students that were running like idiots before now had a determined goal. They were still not performing very well, but the roots of a well-disciplined knight army were starting to spread now.

This is the very power and the first lesson, which will help these students during every war in the future, the power of unity.

Eventually, most of the students started to concentrate their attacks on a single golem and some students started to distract other golems from approaching the area. Although the actions of the students were very unrefined and were not in the line of a well-disciplined army, it’s just the beginning.

After the hard work of the students the golem was finally destroyed by the concentrated power of more than 400 students. Just as the first golem collapsed all the other golems stopped and the students heaved a deep sigh of relief.

“Tsk, pathetic, it took you all so long to defeat a mere brainless golem, such a disappointment.” (Neo)

“Today’s class is dismissed. Prepare well for the next class, you will have to defeat two golems next time.” (Neo)

Neo left the class and all the golems disappeared in thin air, the atmosphere in the hall was filled with panting and gasping sounds now. Students were already considering if their decision to join this academy was right or not.
