The outer door was in a more damaged state than the inner door, since the outer court was at the outer ring of the sect. There are five rings in every sect. Each ring is inside the other rings. Like the rings on the outermost of the sect is for the outer door disciples. Then the next ring is inside the outer ring, where the inner door disciples live, the next one is inside the inner ring called the core ring, where the core disciples live, the next one is the Elder ring where the elders and the saints/saintess of a sect lives, then the last one, that is the innermost ring is the Master ring, where the sect master lives.

Every disciple starts their journey in a sect as an outer door disciple. Then he/she has to fight in the sky list for top five ranks. Only then can he/she can enter the other courts.
