Sam, grinning, continued in a nonchalant manner, “So, where exactly is the city of Thaumapolis?”

Lyra, still visibly frightened, hesitated for a moment before defiantly refusing to cooperate. "I won't tell you anything! You're a warlock, and warlocks can't be trusted!"

Sam finds her reluctance more annoying than amusing. "Look, Lyra, I don't have time for this. I have a stolen wizard spell to reclaim, and your cooperation would be appreciated. Otherwise, you're just becoming a nuisance."

Lyra, feeling a mix of fear and vexation, retorted, "I won't help you, and I won't be part of your wicked plans!"

Sam sighed heavily, then as if dealing with an overly dramatic character in a play. "Alright, since you are so adamant about it, I’ll be warlock for you. Now listen, Lyra, sweetheart princess, I've got news for you. I'm not interested in using you for ransom or anything. You can go back to Rivenburgs. I'm feeling generous today."
