Finally home

Chapter 11

Elena beamed with happiness for her brother, genuinely congratulating him on finally finding his long-lost family. The shared laughter and joy between them overflowed, creating a vibrant energy that filled the room. Ethan revealed that they would soon be moving to their father's house, and Elena's excitement soared at the prospect of a new beginning.

The day arrived for their much-anticipated move, and President Asher, along with his daughter Betty, arrived punctually to lend a helping hand. Betty, filled with anticipation, couldn't contain her excitement at the opportunity to meet Bryan, referring to him as the "young master."

"I'm thrilled that Sam will finally be put in his place," Betty playfully remarked. Her words held a lighthearted tone, tinged with admiration for Bryan's charm and handsome appearance. Bryan simply chuckled in response, appreciating the friendly banter exchanged between them.

Elena sighed, her voice tinged with a mixture of resentment and frustration as she described Sam's character. It was evident that she held a strong dislike for him, labeling him as a mean and arrogant individual who seemed to prioritize his own desires over anything else.

Bryan, ever the optimist, entertained the idea that perhaps Sam's behavior was a result of his upbringing or simply his way of finding enjoyment. He suggested that they should refrain from engaging in a competition with him and instead focus on how their newfound family would react to their presence. If they were accepted and embraced, there was a possibility of finding true happiness together.

Betty, while understanding Bryan's perspective, couldn't help but have reservations. She nodded tentatively, unsure whether they would truly be welcomed and loved by this newfound family that they were about to meet.

President Asher, with a touch of regret in his voice, apologized for forgetting to inform Bryan about his grandmother's presence. He eagerly shared that upon hearing about Bryan's existence, his grandmother's spirits had been lifted, and she was now in good health. It seemed that Bryan's arrival had brought renewed hope and joy to her life.

Bryan, in response, expressed his own excitement, relieved to know that there were people who genuinely cared for him in this new family. Elena, on the other hand, couldn't help but release a sigh, her thoughts drifting to the two other grandchildren who seemingly failed to bring happiness to their grandmother's life.

Curiosity sparked within Elena as she inquired about these other grandchildren, questioning why her grandmother displayed less satisfaction towards them. President Asher's expression softened, a hint of a smirk forming as he divulged that while their grandmother did love them, she disapproved of their chosen lifestyles, which contrasted greatly with that of their father. The implication was that Lisa, their mother, had had a detrimental influence on their lives.

Elena passionately defended her mother, praising her for her nurturing and traditional values. With utmost respect, she acknowledged her mother's exceptional parenting, describing her as the epitome of a loving and selfless figure. Elena believed that if her mother had wealth, she would have sacrificed everything to provide for her children.

In response, Bryan smiled in agreement, acknowledging Elena's mother's exemplary qualities and the positive impact she had on her children's upbringing. He respected Elena's perspective and appreciated the values her mother instilled in their family.

On the other hand, Betty revealed a dark and painful experience from her own past. She spoke about her mother's infidelity, revealing that she had cheated on her father with another man, a betrayal that ultimately led to their divorce. Betty shared her feelings of shame towards her mother's actions, expressing a desire for her father to find happiness with another partner. Unfortunately, her father refused to move on, causing Betty to harbor mixed emotions about the situation.

Betty's revelation inadvertently brought up the contentious relationship between President Asher and his wife, further emphasizing the depth of her anguish and disappointment in her mother's actions.

"If I had married another woman, I wonder how I would have been able to focus on you. My attention might have been divided, and you may have even become angry, thinking that your father had abandoned you. Let's compare this with your mother. The court has given her the opportunity to visit you whenever she wants, and I am not against that," he paused.

"But has she ever called you since then? I heard she had two other children with that man, which must have been occupying her time. So, I don't want to turn out to be like her," President Asher explained, expressing his concerns about remarrying another woman.

"But that doesn't matter. She doesn't have an excuse to neglect her first daughter just because of her new marriage. Look at my mom. She was almost kicked out by my foster father because he claimed she was giving me more attention than him. Yet, she still stuck with her children," Bryan explained passionately. President Asher chuckled lightly at the contrast between the two examples.

"Even your father and I know that your mother is an exception. She's far different from most ladies. However, we still believe that there are good women out there. Just like the precious ladies in this car right now," President Asher said warmly, acknowledging Betty and Elena. The compliment made them blush, realizing that they had been engrossed in the discussion about Bryan's past marriages and experiences with his in-laws, and had completely lost track of time. They were now back home, their minds filled with thoughts about what makes a good wife and a loving mother.

President Asher walked towards the garage to retrieve the car, leaving the maid with instructions to bring in the bag. Once inside the building, they entered the living room where they found everyone except his grandma. However, there were two older ladies present that appeared to be unfamiliar to Elena and Bryan. Despite their polite greetings, the two women continued to stare intently and did not respond.

Lisa, noticing the unfamiliar faces, spoke up with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Asher, what's going on here? Why have you brought strangers into my home?" she questioned, her frustration evident. President Asher chuckled with a touch of sarcasm, pressing his lips together in response.

President Asher's gaze fixed on the enigmatic figure standing before him, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. The atmosphere in the room grew heavy, each passing moment fueling anticipation for the stranger's response. The weight of his words reverberated through the air, as if echoing the underlying tension within the room. When President Asher mentioned Ellen's name, Bryan's mind sparked with swift realization. It became apparent that this stranger, without a doubt, must be his Aunt Ellen - the architect of their audacious plan.

"To disappoint you," she said sternly, her voice resonating with authority, "I am not thrown out. This is my house too. My parent owns this, and I came here to visit my family - my brother, his wife, and the children." Anger coursed through her words as she continued, "And moreover, how dare you take my mother from the rehabs? Do you want to complicate things?"

In response, Asher gestured with his hands, attempting to calm the tense atmosphere. "Calm down," he urged, his voice steady. "Well, the thing is, Mum is okay. And she's back with her family - most especially her beloved first grandson, Bryan." As his announcement hung in the air, a collective shock registered on their faces.

Confusion washed over Sam's features as he rose abruptly from his seat. "What is he talking about? Who did he find, the person our father talked about?" His voice held a mix of frustration and urgency, his eyes searching for answers.

Asher, in turn, leveled a stern gaze at Sam, his expression firm. "Don't just refer to him as a person," he cautioned, his tone laced with a touch of reprimand. "This is your elder brother, and you will have to respect him." As he made his point, his finger pointed directly at Sam, underscoring the importance of his words.

Alora looked incredulous, her voice dripping with disbelief. "Wait, you've got to be kidding me? Are you telling me that this guy I saw the other day was the bastard my father talked about? Don't tell me you plan to give our inheritance to a stranger just for your own selfishness," she seethed, her eyes narrowing in anger. Sensing the tension, Betty instinctively moved closer to Alora, offering support and solidarity.

However, upon witnessing Betty's protective move, Bryan felt compelled to intervene. He stepped forward, his voice steady and calming. "I think it would be beneficial if we all learn to respect those who are older than us," he suggested diplomatically, attempting to diffuse the escalating situation. "And let's remember not to speak to my dad in such a disrespectful manner. It won't get us anywhere." His words carried a hint of authority, emphasizing the need for unity and understanding.

"No need to argue," he declared with unwavering conviction, his voice resonating with authority. "As stated by President Asher, I am the first son of Mr. Maxwell Creston, and I am here now to take my responsibility." His words hung in the air, carrying a weight that demanded attention and acceptance. He emphasized the urgency of facing reality before it became too late.

In response to his resolute statement, Lisa couldn't contain her cynicism. Frustrated, she began to clap her hands together sarcastically, the sound amplifying her skepticism and disbelief.
