Chapter 62

Bryan emerged from his room and was surprised to find Elena standing by his door. "What?" he inquired, puzzled by her presence. Elena absentmindedly scratched the back of his head, her gaze fixed on him.

"I just wanted to let you know that you shouldn't blame yourself for anything. I know I can be a handful, but you don't need to be so hard on yourself. You look kind of ridiculous with that expression," she remarked, her voice taking on a slightly teasing, babyish tone.

Bryan's brow furrowed in response. "Who ever said you were a burden to me? You're my sister, and it's my duty to look out for you," he insisted, a touch of protectiveness slipping into his words. Elena beamed at his response, clearly touched by his words.

As they stood at the doorway, Elena turned to Bryan with a curious expression. "I know, but why are you angry?" she inquired, studying his face intently. Bryan flashed her a warm smile in response.

"I'm not angry, just a little preoccupied with something,"
