The End Of The First Chapter

After we finished eating, I packed the dishes and took them back to the kitchen.

The cleaning lady was still there so I politely asked her to help us do the dishes.

She nodded in approval and I commended her for a job well done, and she smiled heartily.

I then went back to the outdoor lounge and spoke to Logan.

“Well I know it wasn’t much, but I personally made those sandwiches. What do you think?” I asked and smiled.

“Actually they were very nice, it’s not like making sandwiches is a big deal though, but you did good Malcolm,” he said and we both laughed.

I was glad the mood had lightened a bit, that was my intention exactly when I brought the food.

We chatted about some non business related stuff a bit more, and soon we were totally relaxed.

As I saw that we were both calm and in good moods now, I seized the opportunity to ask him what was wrong.

“So Logan, dude what exactly is going on with you?” I asked.

“Well Malcolm, I got fired,” he said calmly.
