Twelve years later
Wintermere, Athanor.
Years 548
Arryn looks closely at the events of his parents' deaths while on Earth, looking so creepy and playing repeatedly.
He is in the middle of a room that continues to display the suffering he experienced on Earth, one of which clearly displays Alfred's face in front of him. Suddenly it made Arryn furious, and he wanted to take revenge for his suffering on Alfred.
When all the shows showed the story of Arryn's suffering. Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of Arryn and blurred all the shows. Arryn clearly saw three people standing in line with glowing eyes. Their body size was enormous.
"Arryn Vaughan. We are always watching you!" said one of the men, dressed in robes with a crown of flowers on his head.
The sound was so loud that Arryn fell to his knees and covered his ears. The voice had woken Arryn from his sleep in the living room.
Arryn’s eyes opened wide, with his head lifted quickly. He just realized that everything that happened was just a short dream.
A blue-and-white bird with a pattern on its tail and a matching colour suddenly appeared. The bird flew with its two white eyes fixed on Arryn.
"What's the matter, Arryn?" asked Ivy.
“Nothing. Thanks for worrying me. It was just a strange dream that suddenly appeared," Arryn replied.
Ivy continued to fly while asking further. She was about the size of an adult's palm and often perched on Arryn's shoulder in invisible mode.
Selena tiba di ruang tengah seraya membawa kotak makan siang berisikan makanan untuk Arryn. Ia sudah mempersiapkan semuanya ketika Arryn hendak mengikuti ujian sihir.
"Are you ready, Arryn?" she asked.
"About the magic exam? I've prepared it, "explained Arryn.
"Really? Did he tell the truth, Ivy?” Selena asked Ivy.
"He said right. I've been keeping an eye on him myself,” Ivy replied, her voice shrill because of her small vocal cords.
"All right. Good luck at the Pantheon," said Selena.
After saying goodbye, Arryn walked with Ivy to the Pantheon.
This exam is held when a person turns seventeen years old. The purpose of the main magic exam is to classify people according to the magic they have, including their level.
[Summoning System: Information Status]
[Welcome]
[Name: Arryn Vaughan]
[Level: 25]
[Title: Unknown]
[Job Class: Unknown]
[Age: 17]
[HP: 600/600]
[MP: 650/650]
A blue panel appears with information ranging from name, title, age, level, health point, mana point, job class, and a special menu to view character status.
“You really want to become a magic user, huh?” Ivy asked.
Ivy asked so after looking at the array of Arryn's character statuses. Of all of them, only the intelligence status has the highest number of points from allocating the number of available points.
"Didn't I tell you I wanted to be a good wizard?" Arryn asked.
"It's a bit strange, considering that many people want to be knights or fighters, but you took the mage class instead?" Ivy asked.
Arryn didn't answer Ivy's question. He didn't need to emphasize that at all. Compared to swordsmanship, Arryn prefers to study witchcraft. However, during the seventeen years he studied magic, he still didn't know the original magic.
“Answer my question, Arryn!” groaned Ivy, but Arryn was still stubborn not to answer Ivy's question.
It took an hour or so of walking, and he finally came to a fairly large temple with four doors on each side. Not only is the Pantheon visible, but hundreds of teenagers gather to take the magic exam.
Arryn immediately walked towards the Pantheon to join the examinees. They looked luxuriously dressed with magic wands in their hands.
Also, Arryn saw several participants wearing full armour like royal soldiers. Moreover, all the clothes the examinees were wearing were different from Arryn, who only wore shabby trousers and a brown T-shirt.
One of the examiners approached the participants and ordered them all to enter the Pantheon. The elderly are welcome to sit and wait upstairs.
"Welcome to the Ultimate Magic Exam. You will face the first stage in this exam, which is to perform balance magic using eggs,” said the Pantheon Leader.
All participants get their eggs. The instructor sets an example that all participants must follow. It was seen that the instructor put an egg in the middle of his palm and tried to fly the egg with his magic.
Arryn saw that the instructor was able to keep the egg from breaking; it could be due to the good balance between magic and eggs
Quite several participants couldn't do it. Most of them had difficulty balancing magic with the eggs, so many were thrown and cracked.
However, it was different for Arryn. He could pass the first stage easily without any difficulty. Finally, he could advance to the second stage, where the system applied was a battle between participants.
"Arryn against Aimar," the old man said.
Arryn didn't know who Aimar really was. He could only hope that his opponent only mastered basic magic like him. However, that vanished when he saw a teenager in a fashionable red outfit and a wand in his hand standing far in front of Arryn.
“Third match… starts!”
Aimar immediately cast fire magic that became his power, targeting Arryn, standing quite a distance in front of him.
[Summoning System: Comet Fire]
The magic used by Aimar surprised Arryn. He didn't know that his enemy was an elemental fire mage.
A fireball shot from the tip of Aimar's wand toward Arryn. The fireballs, originally one in number, began to burst into dozens of small luminaries.
Arryn didn't want to sit around and not act. He thought about what kind of magic could be used to block the fiery comet that Aimar had launched.
[Summoning System: Flames blazing]
Suddenly, a fire circle appeared before Arryn, fending off Aimar's comet using the same element. But, surprisingly, some of these comets managed to pierce Arryn's magic.
Because his attacks didn't work, Aimar decided to use high-level magic that shouldn't be allowed in the exam.
[Summoning System: Sun Lightning]
The comet's attack stopped, replaced by a quick blue attack. The attack was like a line emerging from Aimar's wand; anything hit by the light would surely burn.
Arryn tried to run and avoid the attack. He took the initiative to use defensive magic from the stone in order to ward off Aimar's attack.
[Summoning System: Stone Wall]
He released the magic beside him, but what was more surprising was that the stone wall that Arryn had appeared could be easily cut by Aimar. Arryn was suddenly surprised and started to get scared while continuing to dodge Aimar's attacks.
[Summoning System: Spear of fire]
Two spears made of red flames shot toward Aimar. It was the strongest attack Arryn could launch on a person. He could only hope that it would hit Aimar and disrupt his magic.
However, Arryn’s two spears were easily blocked by Aimar. Arryn was shaking with fear; nothing could beat Aimar.
“A poor folk like you won't be able to beat a noble like me!” Aimar said, insulting Arryn.
"Tch!" Arryn clicked his tongue, feeling both annoyed and scared at the same time. The only way to defeat Aimar was to dodge continuously until Aimar's mana ran out.
The longer he dodged, the more tired Arryn appeared. The slowed movement made Aimar easy to attack Arryn. In the end, Arryn got hit in the arm and leg.
Arryn's skin burned, and he groaned in pain on the ground. Aimar started to walk towards Arryn with a smirk growing on his face.
"I already said. Our strengths are much different,” Aimar explained, sneering at Arryn again.
Just as Arryn was about to give up at this second stage, a voice came out of nowhere that startled him. The sound told Arryn to cast a spell he didn't know about before.
[Summoning System: Parallel Circle]
Suddenly a white circle appeared under Aimar's feet, causing him to fall along with the magic he activated. Shortly after, the circle began to shrink and disappear as time passed.
Everyone fell silent, whether parents or examinees. They had never seen such magic before, and the people upstairs questioned the condition of Aimar, who had lost.
"What kind of magic did you use?" asked the old man, the chief of the Pantheon
"I don't know."
"You didn't know it?" asked the Pantheon Chief. Aryan shook his head.
The Pantheon Chief was silent for a while before ordering the Pantheon soldiers to capture Arryn.
"What's the meaning of this?!" Arryn groaned.
“We suspect that you are part of the Demon King's spies. We caught you because we were suspicious of the power you displayed!” the Pantheon Chief said firmly.
“If you manage to bring back Aimar, then I will free you,” the Pantheon Leader continued.
Pantheon's soldiers started releasing Arryn. He was relieved that the Pantheon Leader allowed him to prove himself. Arryn tried to use the previous spell to bring Aimar back.
[Summoning System: Parallel Circles]
Suddenly a white circle appeared, but its location was floating in the air, not blending with the ground. Everyone widens their eyes, children cry, and the examinees shudder with fear. Aimar arrives at the Pantheon, but he doesn't return alive.
His body was torn to pieces in random shapes, and instantly the exam floor turned from brown to blood red. Discovering Aimar's horrific death makes the Pantheon Leader decide to lock Arryn under heavy guard.
"You're a demon!"
Pantheon soldiers take the shackled Arryn to a place where criminals are being interrogated. Arryn's eyes were covered with a thick black cloth, making it impossible for him to know where he had been taken."Tell me. Where are you going to take me?” Arryn asked.“Somewhere you will never know. So don't talk too much, Demon!” groaned the soldier who brought Arryn.“How many times have I told you that I'm not a demon? I'm just like you, a human."Pantheon's soldiers no longer answered Arryn's questions, although Arryn asked so many questions that it bore the soldiers. They walked for a long time until Arryn was seated in a wooden chair with his blindfold open.Arryn slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was already in an empty room, nothing but the chair he was sitting on.Arryn could see the soldiers carrying him. Two of them had black patterned white armor and hexagonal head helmets with holes visible, only showing their eyes."What is this place?" Arryn asked."I said don't talk too
"You want to kill them all? Use this third magic spell," said a mysterious voice in Arryn's ear.Arryn learned of the third spell of his magic. He guessed the magic spell he just got was an attack-type of magic, just like the Parallel Circle."HAHA! How can you kill us if your hands and feet are shackled?" asked the village chief, grinning as if he was underestimating Arryn's abilities. The corner of Arryn's eyes turned to the bald-headed village chief. He immediately stretched his shackled hands toward the older man while casting his first magic spell.[Summoning System: Parallel Circle]Suddenly a white circle appeared under the village chief's feet, causing him to fall screaming into the white portal. Everyone looked wide in shock except for Selena. They had no idea that Arryn's strength was like that, different from most people's."Where did you take him?!" shouted one of the youths, the village chief's son."I've caught and locked him in a place. If you want him to return, let go
***Two people fell on the floor with their mouths filled with foam; they were Alan's parents. A bottle of rat poison spilled onto the floor, which Alan thought his parents used to commit suicide. That afternoon, Alan had just returned from work carrying a plastic bag filled with food he had bought on his way home. The plastic fell simultaneously with Alan, who knelt down sadly. His tears spilled, seeing the death of his parents."I thought you would survive all this," Alan whispered."Those swindlers! I will find and avenge the death of my parents on them!" groaned Alan, pouring out all the suffering that had happened to the people who had deceived Alan's parents. That night, Alan's little house was so quiet and serene. His father no longer asked about Alan's work. No more her mother, who always smiled and cooked simple dishes in the kitchen. They left too quickly and too suddenly. Alan wants to regret and blame the world for being so cruel to his life, but his energy is depleted ent
***Three days later.Arryn was told a lot by Brian about Ravengarden City. Brian said that if Arryn had frequent encounters with crows flying in one direction, he was on the right way. What appears is the same as Brian's explanation. Seen a city gate with walls surrounding the entire city. Above the gates and walls, hundreds of crows were seen perching. At first glance, the city's appearance becomes terrifying because the crow is synonymous with death. However, that didn't stop people from coming to the city."Are we in the right place?" Arryn asked Ivy."It seems so. Raven means crow; maybe in it, we can see a thousand more crows," explained Ivy.Arryn nodded as he walked down the main paved block road connected to the city. Not only Arryn, but he could see the other visitors walking together towards the city centre. Two gatekeepers stood above the city gates, watching with focus one by one the people visiting the city. They have an essential role in preventing criminals from enteri
"My Father? Don't joke. My father died when I was born," explained Arryn.Quentin smiled. He remembered with certainty the thrilling events when Arryn was born. At that time, the Three Great Gods of Athanor arrived with a roar and storm; they planned to meet Quentin and tell the man about his son's power. He's just an ordinary farmer; daily, he struggles with fields and hoes. The arrival of the Three Great Gods of Athanor frightened Quentin, with his face turning white as death.Elyseus –Athanor's God of Beginnings– says that Quentin must leave Wintermere and study witchcraft. He had to become strong as a Sage to guide Arryn in using his powers. That was why Quentin had kept his whereabouts from Arryn for seventeen years. He only tells Selena the exact location using the crow's message.Quentin left a message that if Arryn reached seventeen, Selena had to tell Arryn about his location. Now, Arryn was really ahead of him at the age of adulthood."We should talk in my office," Quentin a
"Ancient Egyptians? Where's that?" Quentin asked. The Kingdom of Ancient Egypt is a foreign name for Quentin; he never knew other kingdoms. Arryn was confused about what to explain to him, but what was certain was that the two of them were already in different worlds."Somewhere. It isn't easy to explain. But, what is clear is that we are in a different world from Athanor," Arryn replied."If we look at what we're experiencing right now, your power is likely something like dimensional magic," Quentin replied, folding his arms as he watched the workers under the pyramid-shaped building."Dimensional magic?" Arryn asked. He had just heard the magic name, so it was natural for him to feel confused about the meaning of the magic name."A special and rare magic, it is said that it is also difficult to control. That magic can penetrate the boundaries of space to create portals between places," explained Quentin.Quentin suddenly crouched down, holding the sand in his right hand while carefu
***The next day.[Summoning System: Information Status][Welcome][Name: Arryn Vaughan][Level: 28][Title: Unknown][Job Class: Apperentice][Age: 17][HP: 660/660][MP: 710/710]"I've really become a magic user, Ivy," explained Arryn, so happy to see the job class change in his status information."You're lucky to get your class, Arryn. Now you no longer need to deal with the Pantheon about job classes," Ivy replied.Quentin explained in detail what a magic user was, level, then the highest achievement, to the things that had to be prepared to level up.Quentin's level was already at the Noble Tier, the highest class level. It took him about seventeen years to become the sage he is now. Of course, with one goal, to save Arryn by guiding his strength."Master Quentin said something about an apprentice's advanced class," Arryn replied, trying to remember what Quentin had said ye
Some apprentices went straight to the library in groups, some with friends, and some alone. Arryn was still in the practice hall, standing with his group mates."When shall we go to the library?" Aurora asked, worried.Aurora certainly doesn't want to lose quickly to other groups, even though the results of the arcana compilation are individual work. Lucas fell silent, pondering whether it would be appropriate to look for the book now, considering that some apprentices may take more than one book to corroborate a theory."I think we should immediately go to the library to find references," Lucas replied."Then let's go," said Lorelei. She was the most excited when she saw the apprentices leaving this place.Arryn nodded, walking after them all out of the practice room. Ivy flew from the metal railing in front of the audience seats onto Arryn's shoulder.Ivy's sudden arrival surprised Arryn's three group mates. They were wondering about Arryn
