Battle Of Power

Lou-ra had lot all hope of Nicolas waking up when she saw he didn't budge after she shook him several times.

She suspected he must have collapsed because his body, mind and source were still adapting to being reborn. She immediately started to use the healing magic she had learned during her five hundred years of exile.

Hero Hinnel stood up from the ground, angry he had let Demon King Abron completely subdue him and his comrades with just one attack. If word got out of their defeat, he might lose face as the Hero that has been reborn to save the world.

As he began to make his way towards Lou-ra, slowly gathering mana he would need to fight, he felt air heavy with the smell of sulfur and decay as he walked through the barren wasteland that had once been a beautiful place where flowers bloomed, majestically making the environment seem more of a heaven on earth.

The Demon king had spoilt all of that in just once move. His heart pounded with a mix of fear and determination, his golden sword held tightly in his hand.

For quite sometime, before and after his rebirth, he had been on this quest, driven by the burning desire to rid the world of the evil that plagued it, which was in the form of Demon king Abron.

He had faced countless trials and adversaries meant to test his strength, battled through hordes of demons and navigated perilous terrain that seemed to almost break his spirit a good number of times.

But now, finally, he stood face to face with the Demon king, after sleeping for five hundred years, ready to confront his nemesis.

As he approached, he could feel the dark energy coming from within the Demon king which, unknown to him, laid on the floor and Lou-ra using her magic to surround him. He moved towards them slowly, making sure Lou-ra didn't smell his malicious desires.

He steadied himself to attack, adding more magic to strengthen his golden sword and with a roar to fuel himself, he charged forward, his sword gleaming in the darkness that had formed due to blue skies turning black.

Covered with the protection of Lou-ra's shield spell, Nicolas laid unconscious on the once grassy ground, his twisted face showing evidence of the pain he felt within. Beside him, Lou-ra knelt down, continuing to try various healing spells to bring her master back.

As his faithful follower and sworn protector, she had a duty to bring the Demon king back. Her eyes closed in concentration as she increased her mana output to construct a much powerful barrier of defense magic around her master.

But even as she focused her energies on protecting the Demon Lord, a sense of unease made her become unstable. Even from a distance, she could sense the approaching presence of Hero Hinnel, his determination like a sharp light cutting through the darkness that engulfed them.

With a start, she opened her eyes and turned around swiftly, just in time to see the hero running towards where they were with a murderer glint in his eyes. She didn't know how else to describe how he looked, but he didn't have the same aura as a righteous hero.

She knew he would try to justify his eyes as they were burning with righteous fury. She concluded then that their moment of engaging in a long tiring battle to determine who was more supreme had come.

Without hesitation, she quickly rose to her feet, her hands raised in a defensive stance as Hero Hinnel raised his sword in an attempt to strike her down. She kept up her defensive shield, preventing him to moving further but he kept using his sword filled with tremendous mana to keep his attack.

On seeing that Lou-ra was stronger than he thought, he stepped back and began gathering mana again into his sword as he prepared for one powerful strike.

Lou-ra prepared herself, increasing the intensity of her shields.

In the blink of an eye, Hero Hinnel tore through Lou-ra's shield, slicing a small part of her stomach. He made his way quickly to Nicolas and Lou-ra, injured on the ground, could only watch.

With a swift motion, Hero Hinnel raised his sword high, ready to strike the final blow. But before he could deliver the fatal blow, Abron stirred, his eyes suddenly opening with malevolent intent.

With a loud roar, Abron pushed himself to his feet, his intimidating form showing power and hate. Hero Hinnel froze in his attack for a brief moment, taken aback by the overpowering force of the Abron's presence.

But even as he stood there, fazed, he knew he could not back down now. With a loud shout, he drove forward, his sword flashing in the darkness caused by clouds that brought forth thunder. But Abron was ready, his movements fast and precise as he deflected the hero's blows with ease, a mocking smile on his smug face.

With each strike, Hero Hinnel felt his strength reducing, his desperation reaching it's peak with each passing moment. He knew that he was outmatched, that he stood no chance against the might of Abron.

But still, he fought on, driven by a stubborn determination that refused to be finished. He would not stop, he would not surrender, not until the last breath had left his body.

As the battle continued, Lou-ra watched from where she laid, using her healing powers to heal her injuries. She knew that Hero Hinnel's efforts were in vain, that he could never hope to defeat the Demon Lord in his current state.

But still, she could not bring herself to intervene. She watched in silence, waiting for her master to declare victory.

And then, in a flash, it was over. With a single devastating blow, Abron struck Hero Hinnel down, sending him to the ground in pain.

As Hero Hinnel lay defeated, Abron turned towards Lou-ra, his eyes evident with triumph and cruel smile playing across his lips.

"You have done well, my faithful servant," he said, his voice unusual than what she had heard earlier. "But remember, this victory is mine alone. You are but a tool in my game, to be discarded when no longer useful."

And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving Lou-ra alone with Hero Hinnel at her feet. As she watched him leave, she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something wrong.
