[Congratulations! You have reached level 2!]
[Quest Complete!: You have reached level 2 and killed a monster!]
[Reward: You are now a Glock 18 - Semi-Automatic]
…………………..
Finally, I have become a Glock-18. A faint light emerges from the princess’ hand, and I evolve into a more powerful pistol. My body has a silver paint covering around me and a few obsidian hues to add an aesthetic touch to it. A window emerges in front of me and tells me what kind of abilities I have upgraded.
More importantly, my system has also added [Chloe Winfort] as a member of my party. She is the leader, and I am just a weapon. I don’t care anyway, considering I am just a tool for her to protect herself and my life. And because Princess Chloe is now on my side, she also levels up and levels up!
……………………..
[Character Name]: {Kuro Usagi]
[Species]: {Gun}
[Type of Gun]: {Glock 18 - You can now switch to Semi-Auto or Automatic} - 19 bullets per magazine.
- Bullets can be toggled to physical or magical. This gun has unlimited bullets. But you still need to reload your bullets.
- Automatic lets you fire continuously until the trigger is released
- Semi-automatic fires on shot every time the trigger is pulled.
[Active! You now have a host named [Chloe Winfort]. Once attached to a host, you can never be detached from them again.]
[Fire Rate: 1,000 RPM (rounds per minute) or 16.66 seconds.]
[Class]: {Weapon]
[Level 2]
[Abilities:]
- [Aimbot]
- [Evolution]
- [Gale Bullet]
…………….
Afterward, I have gained a new quest to reach new heights and receive more rewards from my system. Here’s how it goes.
…………..
[New Quest Unlocked!]
[Quest: Reach level 10]
[Reward: [Ghost] - A powerful upgrade for the Glock-18 and revolver. The fire rate becomes slower, but the damage is now doubled. The damage multiplier will become 3x against headshot enemies. Take this in mind. ]
[Headshot] - deals more damage than hitting your target on its body. This ability only applies if you have [Ghost] and other upgraded weapons or the target has a body and a head. This also applies to creatures who have a weakness. [Headshot] cannot be applied to headless creatures or living beings without any weakness.
[New Quest will be unlocked if you explore the world of Kepler]
……..
My system apparently wants me to grind more levels, defeat monsters, and explore the area. Sadly, my quests are limited for now. But my system tells me that I can expand more tasks I could complete if I stumble upon a village and find something there.
The next reward is becoming a [Ghost]. It deals more damage and has less recoil compared to the revolver or the Glock-18. However, the fire rate is now the one affected by it. It appears that the fire rate of this [Ghost] is slower than the two but deals more damage, especially when Princess Chloe gets a headshot. Well, to see is to believe. The faster I level up, the more powerful I become!
……………..
I don’t have to let Princess Chloe test me, the Glock-18, since the adventurers already stop pursuing us. When the chase ends, Princess Chloe and I finally take cover from a cave we have noticed and spend the rest of the night there. We haven’t noticed, but the sun has already set. And after what we’ve seen, it is safe to say that monsters are lingering in this area, and we need a safe place to call our temporary shelter.
Right now, this would do.
I am the first one to engage this princess with a question. “How long have you been travelling here, milady? I assume your life is important, so those people want you... most likely dead.”
The woman replies almost immediately, as if giving me a sign of respect and gratitude for what I have done for her. “I-I have been travelling for... quite a while now. I do not know how many days have passed, since my loyal soldiers were the ones keeping me safe. But if I have to guess, I have been away from my castle for a week and survived, thanks to my trusty knights.” This girl begins to startle as soon as she noticed I am staring at her eyes. Oh, right. I am still a gun, so that's why.
‘So this girl’s place must be far... Then it’s settled then! The best thing I could do now is to help her return to her kingdom and live my life from there... I guess?’ I think, and nod at my plan.
“T-Thank you for saving me, Kuro. I do not know what would happen if you had not shown yourself to me… But it is odd to see you in a… gun or an item, as you have mentioned, and not in a human form. You also told me that… you are a human back then, but turned into something like that? How come? Is it a form of magic in your world that is not accessible to ours? And there are worlds out there besides Kepler?”
“And where are my manners? I have forgotten our introductions a bit… sudden and forgettable. Let me change that,” Chloe then lifts her skirt and bows her head ever so slightly. “My name is Chloe Winfort, daughter of King Arthur Winfort and Queen Elizabeth Winfort. I am the first princess of the Winfort Kingdom, located in the Southern Region of the Mousterian Empire! Unfortunately, the second prince of the family, Prince Flynn Winfort, technically becomes the new King of the Winfort Kingdom. I fear that my loyal servants and the people living there would experience a grim life ahead of them. I, a powerless mage, cannot do anything besides running away from my brother… from my Kingdom… and from my people.”
“I see… that’s some political strife you got there, Chloe… I mean, princess,” I reply, making sure not to say anything more than what I could. After all, this topic is about Chloe’s brother. “And, yeah. I am a gun and not a human being. But it is what it is. I’m just thankful that I’m alive and given a second chance. And to answer your question, I came from another world. It’s called Earth. Have you ever heard of it before?”
Princess Chloe shakes her head.
“I see. Well, that’s that. I was originally a teacher back in my world. But right now, I’m stuck with this body. Luckily, I arrived here, and you saw me on time.”
“Which is why I am forever in debt to you. Tell me, what do you desire so I can return the favour?” Chloe mutters, and holds me tightly in her hand. “And that is amazing, Kuro. You are a professor. I feel indebted to my master for years, for she has taught me countless life lessons and magical abilities which I have been using as of date. Knowing you are a teacher, then I believe you are a man with diligence and pride, for you have taught children below your age.”
“You flatter me, princess. But... then again, those students I once had have already forgotten me.” I answer, “And it’s alright. It’s fine, it’s fine. As long as you’re safe, I’m happy about it.”
“Have they forgotten you, or did you forget them? Remember, those children are now older than you once saw them. So their life is now meaningful because of you.” Chloe shakes her head once again, making her blonde hair bounce as she moves around. The girl then utters, “Going back, it is, in fact, a troublesome affair. But since I am a noble and a princess, I am the apple of the eye of everyone, especially when I was reigned as the Queen or ruler of the Winfort Kingdom, stated by my father. Woefully, Prince Flynn did not take that lightly, so he killed our parents and hunted me down, thinking he must be the one ruling the Kingdom and stop the war using his own devious means.”
“And you may or may not call me princess, Kuro. I have remembered you saying this before, but my title is… nothing more but a worthless trait I have beside my name. Truthfully, I want to become an adventurer to explore the world and personally relieve the villagers from their troubles. Unfortunately, I am stuck inside my castle. It is not like I do not wish to be there, but it would be pleasant to walk around without following anyone’s instructions.”
“I, uh… Sorry about that. It’s fun to call you princess, so I don’t mind. In fact, sometimes if I add it, I feel happy, Princess Chloe,” I mutter, hoping to relieve the downpour mood of the conversation. “And about that thing you said about the students? I hope you’re right. I hope they’re doing well. If they were not, my life would’ve been meaningless. Actually, I think my life has accounted for nothing.”
“By the way, this is what you’ve wished for. You are now outside and ready to take on the world. By the time I escort you back to your Kingdom, you’ll become queen and help them directly as a queen should be,” I continue.
“If that suits you, then it suits me well as well. Also, you are a brilliant teacher. I hope someday you will accept it.”
Princess Chloe then stands from the ground, goes to the nearby tree, and stares at it. She wants to do something about it. And it seems this specific tree and the other plants beside it could be used to ignite a fire, which we desperately need.
“We need to somehow start a campfire, rest for the night, and arrive at the nearby village. I can ignite it if we have enough wood, but… we do not have an axe or a tool we could use to cut trees.”
Princess Chloe then looks at it, thinking of something. She afterward says whatever is running inside her mind. “Do you…”
“No.”
“I see.”
She thinks I could act as an axe and chop down this tree using my bullets. It is an absurd idea. People back in my world would laugh up a storm if they found out what we were going to do.
“But we can try.”
The moment I say those words, Chloe aims at the tree’s bark and pulls the trigger. However, no bullet launches from my barrel. It is an odd feeling, specifically when Chloe’s hands stroke me and tickle me inside, but nothing comes out of me.
“Did you check the bullets?”
Chloe shakes her head and utters, “No. I did not know I had to, Kuro. Let me just…”
When Chloe checks me - the gun - her eyes widen in surprise. The Glock-18 or myself, which has become a gun, does not have a cylinder in my body. Instead, I have a magazine now. Fortunately, bullets are unlimited, so Chloe only has to be worried about inserting the magazine inside me and reloading it.
Then again, I forgot Chloe hasn’t been in my world before, and she’s a person who lives on this planet. So I show her the ropes and how to load a Glock-18.
“First, get the magazine out of the gun by pressing the magazine release button, right beside the trigger.”
“I can see that.”
Princess Chloe places her hand on the correct button, which I have already mentioned not too long ago.
“Good. And then, throw the empty magazine away and replace it with the new and loaded 19 bullets magazine. Just, you know, think about what you need, like the loaded magazine, and insert it inside me. It should be a snug fit from here on out.”
Chloe throws the empty ammo dump and quickly replaces it with the fully loaded magazine. Once the magazine is inserted inside me, she looks at me and waits for my next instruction.
“Got it, Kuro. What should I do next?”
“Okay, okay. Looking good. Now, I want you to pull the slide on top of my body. The gun’s body. Pull it back and just reload it. I know it doesn’t make any sense, but-...”
My good lord, Chloe has done it! She does exactly what I’ve just told her and successfully loads me with 19 bullets. It feels goooood. It is as if I have eaten a full meal from a buffet and am ready to run again with maximum energy.
“D-Done. Did I do it?”
“YES! YOU DID WELL! Now, for the main finale, aim me at the tree over there, and let’s see what happens.”
Once Chloe aims at the bark’s tree and pulls the trigger, the impossible happens. The plant is now cut in half, and we can collect the branches and flammable wood from this mysterious tree. I know, I know. This isn’t how it is supposed to be to start a campfire in the middle of the forest. But my system and Chloe tell me that this tree is the most suitable thing we could use to ignite a campfire!
I’m just following in her footsteps.
Princess Chloe is already getting the hang of it with the gun - with me. But… she still has a lot of miles away to trek and train, especially her aim. I am not flaming her for it. It’s just that… this is Princess Chloe’s first time wielding a gun, and I am no expert in these sorts of firearms or the like. But I know what it does and how it operates. My knowledge is limited. And that is demonstrated right after she hits the tree. Although Chloe has made a clear shot at the bronze bark, she has squandered a few bullets just to cut the tree down. And that is a problem. It only takes five shots or more just to cut that plant down, I think, or even less if she uses her wind ability or any other elements except if she uses a fire attribute. But that didn’t happen. All 19 shells are exhausted before that tree is taken down. The same applies when Princess Chloe hunts for rabbits. We need some food, so she gets out of the cave, bringing me with her. She finds one, thanks to my guidance and my
“Chloe, aim your pistol at the merchant and do as I say,” I counsel, and whisper at Chloe, thinking this peddler might hear me, which he has.“B-But why, Kuro? My father told me merchants do not want to kill! They only want to help people by selling their stuff and focusing on flourishing their business! Even the mercenaries and the adventurers have never touched each other for a fight, not even once!”“I’m not saying your father is a liar, but listen to me now. Aim the gun at the merchant and repeat after me.”“B-But… He’s just a merchant!”“Looks can be deceiving, princess.”……_________Princess Chloe’s Perspective_________“Who are you, and what do you want?”Kuro, this gun I am aiming at the merchant, tells me to raise my guard. But father always tells me that these peddlers are not to be harmed, for they are not equipped to fight. However, since Kuro has saved my life, I would do as he says... If I think he has overstepped a line, I will stop. Until then, I shall hear him out.
We’ve earned around 1000 Credits just by selling the jewelry and dresses Chloe has with her. Since we don’t need such lavish ornaments around Chloe’s body, it is best to sell those things and make them our own pocket money. The two of us have no idea how the adventurer’s guild, the town, or the inn works.I also ask if Chloe is good with money, to which she replies to me with…. “Yes! My parents and I buy stuff from these lavish shops and then…” the story continues. I stop Chloe from resuming any further and ask if she has visited her hometown, far from the interior sides of her own castle.“Hmmmm. Not really. My parents said there were a lot of bad people who wanted us gone, so it was best to help those villagers from afar. So we never get the gist of what is happening in the market unless it is time to deal with the merchant’s guild.”Bingo! The main problem lies there. Chloe’s parents assume that the villagers never really care about them, but in fact, they need to have faith in the
“Chloe, this is your original identification card,” I utter, and show Chloe her personal details.[Name]: {Chloe Winfort][Species]: {Human}[Age]: {18-year-old}[Class]: {Princess} - Currently the host of the gun [Kuro Usagi][Level 25][Abilities:]- Elementalist - Chloe knows every element in the World of Kepler. Regardless, we resume our stride and end the topic right there as soon as we stop by in front of the adventurer’s guild. It is unlike any other. The only difference from the adventurer’s guild among its contenders of the building is that… this place has an inn, diner, and is closely built in the middle of the plaza, where anyone could see compared to other stores and businesses. Right next to the adventurer’s guild is the merchant’s firm, which controls the market and anything else revolving around money. When Chloe nuzzles the wooden slide and enters the adventurer’s guild, she is immediately welcomed by a woman - a staff from the guild; I guess - and is quickly taken to the reception bar. The place is filled with adventurers, I assume, sitting on the table and chugging their beers overflowing from their mugs. When we pass by, these adventurers steal a glance. I believe they are mesmerised by Chloe’s beauty, especially when she has cut her hair and painted it silver. But when these
Bonus Chapter Third-Person Point of View ___________________________ Two peculiar individuals enter the radar of the adventurer’s guild, and that catches the attention of the Bounty Hunter’s leader. One is a woman with short hair painted in silver, and the other is unknown to the people living in Kepler. At first glance, the building is nothing more different from the ones stationed in every other village and town. But there is something cooking underground… literally. By the time these two individuals leave the adventurer’s guild in a hurry, a poster hovers near the entrance, reminding the receptionist about her task. The picture from the poster resembles quite closely the woman who has hurriedly exited the building. Anne A****n, who is currently working as a staff in Honeywood town and a roaming adventurer, is paid by someone from the higher-up for a specific job. She couldn’t say who hired her to kill someone. But the person behind the murderous intention belongs to none other t
Back to Princess Chloe’s Perspective____________________At once, Chloe exited the place and ran as far away as her little legs could, gripping me tightly in her hands. We have no idea about the time. But we know we’ve created a fair distance between the village and our origin, thinking we would be safe away from the town. I am the one who has suggested that, and I know someone or something would come after for us if we idle for more. The next thing we know, nighttime arrives, and the environment becomes pitch black. Multiple stars shine above our heads, and the moon, shaped like a square, hovers around us. It is odd but calming. Back in my world, moons, stars, and other planets are in the form of a sphere and others… figures. And none of them are shaped like a square. We are inside a forest yet again. Thankfully, no monsters reside in the area. Normally, these horrible forests like what we are in right now are the epitome of woe or death. As luck would have it, Chloe is still in one
“BAAH! DAMNED THIS ETERNAL REGRET! I will practise! Come, Kuro! Let’s go and practice! I’ll use those trees as my target dummies and hit them using my bullets!”“Uh…. Chloe? Did you just…?”“DID I WHAT NOW, KURO?” Chloe narrows her eyes and growls at me.“N-Nothing. I’m aboard whatever you have in mind, princess.”And here, I think Chloe will sleep after our conversation ends. But I have thought wrong. Chloe picks herself from the ground, drags me out of my place, and rushes towards the trees. She then gapes at the plants for a few seconds before gazing back at me.“Tell me where to train, Kuro. The pain inside my chest continues to consume me, and I want to do something about it.”“Trust the gun… and respect the gun. And for that, you should-...”“I know!” Chloe says, as she encases her hand around the trigger... Around me. She then stares at the tree as if it is a creature heading toward her... It is as if this situation is a life-or-death situation for her. “I know… It’s just that,
