Ch 008

"Adam, pass the ball." Idris called out as he waited for the ball cheerfully. They were playing the 'kick balls' game in the backyard of the palace with nobody around.

Adam looked backwards and shot at the ball, though he didn't seem to be interested to play at first now he was playing actively. Just as Idris ran to kick the ball, he fell on his knees. Until now he was so enthusiastic that he didn't feel tired at all but the moment his knees touched the ground, he felt his body so weak and he was sweating like a horse.

"My Lord, it's my fault. I shouldn't have agreed to play along or else you wouldn't get hurt like this." Adam helped him to stand up. "Don't blame yourself, it was me who asked you to play. You were just following my instructions." Idris hissed in pain then he bit his lips to stay strong.

Adam looked down at the ground feeling guilty, when Idris asked him to play with him he didn't want to do it but thinking that Idris didn't have anyone to play with he finally agreed.

A week has passed sooner than expected, Reiki didn't come to see him yet and Idris had been waiting for him. Life in the ice palace didn't go bad nor was it that good.

While leaving the backyard, Idris looked back at the ball. He wanted to live his childhood but even his health didn't want to support him.

Sigh!

Seated on the chair near the window, Idris looked at the outside sky. 'What a sunny weather!'

Knock!

"Come in!"

Reiki slowly walked through the main door, having a book in his hand. "My Lord, it's me. Reiki."

"Oh, you are here. Come, take a seat."

"I dare not, you are my Lord."

Life here and in his world were very different so did many things. Idris still was not familiar with people calling him 'My Lord', though in these past days he tried telling everyone to not call him that way nobody listened to him. They were afraid that there was seriously some problem with him or maybe he was angry at them for some reason so in the end Idris left it the way it was.

"Lord, haha... You are my saviour and my master, Mr. Eckes so please take a seat."

With a little hesitation, Reiki took a seat but he didn't dare look at him. He placed a book on the table nervously when Idris questioned, "So, is there any good news?"

Much happily Reiki answered, "Yes, I've finally found a solution."

"What did you find?"

"As of now, I don't know how to take that mystic aura out of you so I've found a process that will help in unbinding your mana force." Turning some pages in the book on the table, he continued, "I'll make you a herbal soup that you'll need to take every seven days, I'll use my healing power to unbind your mana force but there's more to it, I'm still doing my research. I'm sure we can do it."

He could see how passionate he was about it but Idris still didn't forget the last time he was so exhausted as he tried to help him. Worriedly he asked Reiki, "But if you use your own healing power, won't it be risky?"

"No, it won't be. Please have faith in me, I will surely be successful."

Heaving a sigh, Idris nodded his head, "Fine, as you say. I'll trust you."

"Thank you, My Lord. But uhmm...."

"Is something wrong? Mr. Eckes"

"The herbal soup... Most of the herbs are missing and they can't be found in this palace, so..."

"What is their name? And where can we find them?"

"Anise hyssop can be found near Vesca Mountain, epozote in the east, black spiny can be found in the western front and Venelli near the Lentio River." Reiki explained.

"So far..."

"Yeah and they are rare to find in our nation so only someone who knows about them should go to pick them up."

Idris looked at Reiki, he sure found a way out but it was not easy. Where Idris himself was not allowed to go outside, he couldn't think about others doing so...

Seeing him keep calm, Reiki got on his knees and bowing his head, he asserted, "My Lord, please let me go to get them."

"No, you can't go. Don't forget what your real identity is, if you get caught somehow then it'll not only be the end for us but also your wife."

"But I know the herbs very well."

Idris disagreed and stood up, "I will go."

"My Lord, please don't. You are not fully recovered, and when you have this servant in your presence, why would you go by yourself?"

Hearing him Idris looked at his hand, he was right. Idris himself knew how weak his body was, even Angus Bekham was much more stronger than him but he couldn't just be Angus now.

'Someone has to go, I can't send Reiki. If I do that, I might put him in danger. But if I go, I don't know if I'll even survive that long... What should I do?'

"My Lord, please let me go." Hearing Adam's sudden voice both Idris and Reiki turned to the direction.

"Adam."

"I have heard about the herbs, I think if Mr. Eckes goes he might be in danger. The wester front is heavily guarded all the time, it's too risky. So please let me go, nobody knows me and I'm good at sneaking around." Adam requested. Idris felt himself standing at a tough spot, Adam didn't care about himself nor did Reiki unlike how people always hurt him in his previous life.

"Fine, you can go. Mr. Eckes, please give all the details Adam will need to know in order to find the herbs."

When those two were talking, Idris looked at the outside of the palace, it all looked so beautiful yet he was caged in there.

"About the Venelli herb... I never saw it with my own eyes but I heard its description and that... It's very hard to get." Reiki voiced.

"Why so?" Curious about it, both Idris and Adam looked at him in question.

Reiki showed them a drawing in the book and then in a serious tone of voice he added, "It grows only once in six years, having three thin leafs and crystal like color people often can't find the real one in the river."

"What?!"

"Yes, sadly it's the most important herb among the rest so if it can't be found, I can't make the soup."

The room once again fell into deep serenity as none of them uttered a single word. After a brief moment when Idris was about to say something, Adam suddenly stood up and uttered, "I don't know if I'll be able to find it or not, but please, My Lord. Let me go!"

"Fine, you may go."

"Thank you, My Lord."

"We need to hurry up, are you ready?" Reiki questioned and Adam replied confidently with a nod, "Yes, I am."

"Then we will do it tonight, Adam."
