"How are you feeling?" Harith asked. He walked with Cho cheong who was looking a bit better now but the bruise on her face was still very evident.
"I'm okay. It'll heal in a short while" Cho cheong said and touch her eye."You did quite a great thing in there, I'm impressed" Harith spoke from the depths of his heart. Cho cheong had come the closest to taking the emerald eyes. If elder Jang had come clean earlier maybe it would have been a different story."It wasn't anything much, I just ran around and got knocked out" Cho cheong blushed from embarrassment but one could see the joy on her face if they looked closer."Well, Just to make sure you're really okay, let me escort you home" Harith smiled. He had no motives and was just being a gentleman..."Eh? My house is quite far from here I'm not sure you would want to walk that long" Cho cheong quickly denied him."I don't mind. I mean, I have nothing to do so..." Harith shrugged."okay...." Cho cheong finally agreed. The two went back the same way they came. On the way Harith even saw the the old man from earlier, he had set up shop now.As they walked further and further the people around seemed to be getting fewer and the shops around began to reduce.A feeling of Deja Vu welled up inside Harith. This was reminding him so very much of a deadly mistake that had cost him his life one time."We're here" Cho cheong said.Harith was startled by her words, they sounded very familiar. He was ready to burst and run at any moment."Come on in" Cho cheong smiled and took off her sandals.Harith looked well enough and the panic in him died down. It was just a small house. Nothing to be worried about."Ah in? Alright alright" Harith scratched his head and took off the worn down sandals he had on. Even the soles had become very soft.As they entered the house Harith's sense of smell was overwhelmed by the beautiful feminine fragrance in the air. It smelled so sweet."You must be hungry, I'll make you something before you leave" Cho cheong said as she dropped her belongings on the sofa."You leave alone?" Harith asked. There were no shoes outside other than his and Cho cheong's. And the house was very silent even after they came In."Yes, the rest of my family leave very far away" She replied."Wow..." Harith muttered. This girl was living all alone in an isolated place like this, wasn't she scared at all?Cho cheong went inside the kitchen and soon after frying sound could be heard. The smoke filled the house and Harith struggled to breath but he had no choice but to endure. It didn't take much time until Cho cheong was done cooking. She brought out a plate and on it was a large fist that had had all sorts of cooking done to it. The aroma was godly and he couldn't wait to dig in.If there was anything he was most thankful for after coming into this world apart from the powers the it had to be the food. It seemed like everyone that existed her were natural born chefs, and they weren't stingy with food either. As a man that had suffered to even have a whole meal in a day, Harith was very grateful.A tear dropped from Harith's eyes as he devoured the fish."Eh You're crying? Is it to spicy? Ah I knew I should have used only one spoon" Cho cheong asked as she panicked."N...no... it's perfect" More tears dropped as Harith kept eating.....Harith left around an hour later with a full stomach. He and Cho cheong chatter for over thirty minutes before he decided to leave. He felt like he had made his first real friend in a long time. It was nice..."The stance" Harith remembered the stance elder Jang had performed earlier. The amount of energy Elder Jang had gathered was insane, even he that was a novice when it came to energy could feel the sheer power. And he longed for that power.Harith stopped walking and found a spot to seat as he recollected the stance from earlier and performed it. He had made up his mind, he couldn't be slacking off eating and drinking away his time. He had to do something productive, something that would actually be meaningful to his goal. The only way achieve his goal was to become powerful...and to become powerful one must first need to learn how to gather the energy in the atmosphere and release it in the form of their acquired element. He had learnt that from Cho cheong.Since the location was sparsely filled Harith didn't mind practicing right then and there. He closed his eyes and tried to feel for something, anything."When I first successfully gathered energy it was like I felt this cool breeze wash over me and my pathways were unlocked, I felt in tune with nature. Like I could finally see much more to the world than the normal eye could see. An awakening of some sorts" Harith remembered Cho cheong's words. He had asked her earlier since he didn't quite understand Elder Jang."An awakening" Harith muttered and let his eyes shut.As he stayed in that weird position it was like he was cut off from the rest of the world. The occasional eratic noises he heard all seemed to fade into oblivion and instead came the advent of these peaceful sounds that made one's heart calm. The sound of trees ruffling as the gentle wind passed by, birds tweeting and the subtle sound as the wind grazed the grass. All of a sudden, the gentle wind suddenly became violent and Harith's eyes forcefully came open. He started sweating buckets and his breathing was rugged."What the fuck was that" Harith exclaimed.....The next dayHarith had gotten up as early as he could and started practicing like he did yesterday. The feeling he had yesterday when he got into stance and focused, it was unlike no other. He felt the same thing today but whenever he reached a point, the violent force would come and he would leave the heightened state. "I just need more patience" Harith thought. He wasn't a fool. He wouldn't master something that took the others months to complete in just a day or two. Patience was all he needed. After some more practice and he felt the time was right, he left for the Youth Practitioners house. Today he would try to challenge it and win the emerald eyes. Maybe the emerald eyes could even help him learn how to gather energy faster. As he already knew the road, Harith was quick to arrive at the Youth Practitioners house. Infact he even arrived a bit too early. It seemed none of the others had come yet. "I'll take a tour in the meantime" Harith decided and walked around. He hadn't really seen much of the House yesterday since Elder Jang kept them all outside. But as Harith entered he became truly amazed "The interior is even much better than the outside" Harith marveled. The inside was beautiful. All sorts of weapons hung on the walls and the face of a dragon was drawn all over the walls. It had doors that were currently locked but the design of the doors made Harith curious about what could be hidden inside. "What are you doing in here?" A cold voice asked. Harith was startled as he was too focused on the house and hadn't noticed that someone had actually arrived too. As soon as Harith saw who it was that had appeared the smile on his face faded and it was replaced by a look that carried detest. "I asked you a question" Young master Baxia raised his tone slightly. "What? So I'm not allowed into the house?" Harith shot back. How could this dude be asking him what he was doing in here...where was he supposed to be other than here. "This house is for the Donghua course candidates of the sect and the students from outside that have chosen to study here. You fufil none of those requirements so this place isn't for you" Young master Baxia said in the calmest yet harshest tone one could imagine. Harith was left speechless by his words. He didn't know much about the Youth practitioners house so he couldn't blindly argue. Then he remembered something. "Elder Jang's and the sect master want me here so why would I leave?" Harith sneered. He had been asked by elder Jang to come here so how could this brat tell him otherwise. "Tch" Young master Baxia looked solemnly for a moment before he left. He couldn't do anything now, especially not in this house. Harith had a look of disbelief. He could clearly sense extreme hatred from the Young master. He had no idea why that guy felt that way towards him, maybe it was the past owner of the body but he was in control now. If the Young master wanted beef with him then he was happy to oblige, he didn't like his face anyway. Young master Baxia left the building and Harith kept inspecting. After he had had his fill he left and waited outside. The rest arrived and soon enough they were complete along with Elder Jang. "It is time" Harith said to himself as he proceeded to step up and announce himself as the next one to undertake the challenge. *Bang!* At that moment the closed gate opened violently and even had a dent on it's body. Three hooded figures appeared immediately after, one of them had a cold smirk on her face. "Who dares?!" Elder Jang was furious as he waved his cane and a violent burst of wind travelled twords the group that had appeared. The person at the front that seemed to be the leader waved her hand and water formed in mid air. The energies of the wind and water collided and were nullified all together. "Is that the greeting we get...Jang chi?" The woman who had nullified the attacked lifted her hood and Elder Jang's heart skipped a beat. "Rose?" Elder Jang said in utter disbelief. The woman called rose nodded at his words. Elder Jang was silent for a moment before he frowned. "What is an elder of the Great water serpent sect doing here" He asked with a cold voice. "Great water serpent sect?" "What do they want again now" The scene played right in front of the students so they could hear the conversation loud and clearly. "Heh" Rose chuckled as she looked at the students behind Elder Jang "I have simply brought friendly competition" She said as she took a step backward and the two person behind her walked forward looking rather ominous. At that moment two guards arrived. They had hurried breaths so it was obvious they had been running for quite some time."S...stop" One of them spoke as he held his chest and scrunched his face."Ah Elder Jang" The other one noticed Elder Jang and bowed immediately. The second one too followed.Elder Jang raised one of his eyebrows in a look that questioned the guards."Elder Jang they forcefully came in through the sect's gate. We tried to stop them but before we could do anything they were long gone" One of them said with a worried look."So you broke into the sect, and also barged in here. You better have a good excuse for this?" Elder Jang looked at Rose with an angry face."I told you, u brought friendly competition" Rose smiled as she pointed at the two with her.Elder Jang took a low at the other two person with her. He couldn't see much of them as they had long black robes on them but from what he sensed, they would be of the younger generation."You two leave and report to th
Hao Feng had the brightest smile on his face. This woman had really stuck to her words and actually given him the emerald eyes. He just had to beat her candidate...which he did easily. Even he was surprised at how easy he had done that. Sure he had a few cuts here and there but that was all, she didn't really prove much trouble in taking down."Guys what are you waiting for?" Hao Feng excitedly said to the crowd and he waved his emerald eyes for all to see."She really did give him!""It wasn't even that hard for Hao Feng to beat him" The crowd was ecstatic. Hao Feng was a average at best in terms of power but he had still easily taken the girl down. If they went then it was basically free emerald eyes assured."I wanna go next!""No me me, elder Jang pick me!" The students struggled to come forward. Elder Jang on the other hand wasn't too happy. This girl Rose had brought felt so weak compared to what he expected from an average Great water serpent sect youth practitioner. The averag
"It's remaining two pairs, if you want to fight now's your chance" Rose said as she looked in a certain direction with intent."Let me go this time" As soon as young master Baxia saw her look. He felt suspicious that she kept looking at him but he didn't focus on that. His focus was on the emerald eyes. If he didn't step up before the others the emerald eyes may be gone just when he could."Come on out then" Rose answered In place of elder Jang with enthusiasm. Young master Baxia looked at Elder Jang for his approval and since elder Jang had nothing to be suspicious about he just let him go. It wouldn't even last up to a minute before Baxia would win and he'd resume his time with his students."Eh? Wasn't she knocked out before?" A student pointed at Amber who was now standing opposite young master Baxia. Of course they found it strange, it was unlike before when she was fed the pill and took some time to become conscious. Now immediately Young master Baxia stepped up she just surpri
The next dayHarith had woken up very early and started with the stance right away. It was about five in the morning so everywhere was dark and silent, but this was what Harith preferred. The undisturbed silence gave him the leisure to focus more on the state he attained."Now let's see your magic" Harith muttered as he brought out the three emerald eyes he had earned...well he stole one but still most of it was earned. He placed two in his palms and one in front of him and sat on his bed cross legged. He placed his hands on his thighs and joined his fingers together. He then closed his eyes and breathe rhythmically.Sure this wasn't the position Elder Jang had taught him to stay in. But he had found out that one didn't necessarily have to adopt a particular stance before they could gather energy. So he stayed in a way that he was more comfortable with. The book he bought earlier had shown him in detail how the emerald eyes could be used for training. Now to understand that one must f
"Come here, sit down." Cho cheong guided Harith to her chair as he held his nose. She brought out a handkerchief from her pocket and offered it to him."Thanks" Harith took the handkerchief and pressed it on his nose. There was still much blood on it so the handkerchief was soaked in a few seconds.Cho cheong offered him another and finally the blood rush was stable."You shouldn't be getting into fights now, you know you're still not strong enough. How would you have defended yourself if Dang ju really wanted to attack you?" Cho cheong nagged him with a worried look."A fight? He was the one who attacked me when I did nothing to him!" Harith was perplexed at her words. The fuck did she mean he got into a fight, getting into a fight involved two or more parties mutually attacking each other. That was not the case earlier."Did you by any chance insult his looks or say anything about his body?" Cho cheong asked."...." Harith was speechless. He had a guilty look. He had clearly called
A week after. The Trials for Elder jang's emerald eyes had become fiercer. The students were improving at a solid rate. Now the vast of them were able to take out the Fiery bodies without any sweat. A good chunk of them were able to evade the air bursts. But they all stopped when it came time to enduring the water dragon's attack.Baxia had become the only one to successfully take an emerald eye. After leaving the medicine house, he didn't waste time in challenging the hole and after many trials he took just one of the emerald eyes. Overall, Elder Jang was very satisfied with what his students showed. They hadn't become strong enough to move mountains and stuff but they were much better than they were before. Now they didn't just rely on their elemental powers but they could also rely on their martial prowess. Something that would be very useful In an unforeseen battle. On the other hand, Harith was making progress too. Every day he would wake up very early in the morning and try to
Harith had a smile as he walked back to the marketplace. He was feeling especially happy as he looked at the red bead on his hand. Sure, an emerald eye was probably worth more than this bead but he had a plan in place. A plan that would grant him both the bead and the emerald eye. For now, he was satisfied with just this."Harith! I'm happy I met you here" As Harith reached the marketplace cho cheong called him from afar. She seemed like she was in search of something."What are you doing out here on this hot afternoon?" Harith asked with a smile."Tch" Cho cheong hissed and tapped him on the head. "So should I just stay home all day?" "ow!" Harith held his forehead "aren't you the one always concerned about your skin?!" Harith puffed earning another knock from Cho cheong."Shut it and help me" Cho cheong rolled her eyes.Harith rubbed the his forehead. He was certain it had gotten red...that little devil. "What do you want?" Harith asked. Cho cheong wasn't one to be out in a public
As the two finally left the confines of the sect, Harith was surprised to see the outer world. There was a barrier surrounding the whole sect, it seemed to be as a result of the earlier incident with the young master. But as they stepped out of the barrier Harith wasn't expecting what he saw."R...rocks?" Harith looked around. The gate of the sect was just behind them, but apart from that everything around him was full of nothing but rocks. Red rocks that looked like they had been endlessly hammered by the scorching sun that showed no mercy to man and earth alike."It's not just all rocks" Cho cheong rolled her eyes and picked up the pace. It was almost night time so they had to atleast get to the nearest transport station before that."Where do we go from here?" Harith asked. From what he could see, the rocks stretched endlessly never having an ending. "There's a transport station nearby. It's just about five kilometers from here" She said as she kicked a nearby stone."Huh?!" Harit
“I am glad you are awake” A voice said as a small figure approached, a young boy with long, black hair and a red robe. He had a gentle smile and was accompanied by a person who looked like a shadow. “ I have been waiting for you for a long time. I hope you will be able to help us” the boy said as he bowed his head.“I don't understand, who is this?" Mendel asked. The Shadow replied “He has been sent by the god of death, it seems that your soul was meant to go to World Z” he paused for a moment, “and I have to say, that I'm very happy to meet you. I like your personality and I can see you'll make a good leader one day”“Wait, I thought the gods didn't care about the living?”“That they never cared? No, that was wrong. They gave their blessing to our leaders and taught them how to lead others. We follow them because we trust them” The man said, explaining the reason of the people of the world. “But, I believe there was something else. Something even more important. It was the promise of
Wang minThe eldest of them was Heng. A handsome man with hair that flowed like the waves on the sea, he wore robes and had a staff in his hand. His eyes were calm pools of blue, and his skin was soft but clear. He liked spending time outdoors, tending to the plants and trees around him. When he came across a beautiful girl, he would take her home and spend some time with her alone. It was no secret to the world how much he liked women, and most people thought it was because of how strong the water source was there.However... it wasn’t exactly true. One day, Heng had taken a stroll through the city. His mind was filled with thoughts of flowers and other beautiful creatures, and as he made his way through the crowd, he accidentally bumped into someone. This surprised him at first, since everyone knew that there weren't many people who walked about like he did. But the person he'd bumped into looked oddly familiar. As he stood there and took stock of his surroundings, he realized that h
The emperor is a man of many secrets and few words; his face has never been seen by anyone outside the palace walls since he was born in this country thousands of years ago. His father died when Shoan was very young so that meant it was up to him now to protect the empire from its enemies both foreign and domestic. He had no choice but to be strong for those who depended on him, even if they didn't deserve it. In truth though he could have done without them all together because some were just too annoying or stupid to deal with. One day while sitting alone in his office pondering over how best to kill someone, which took forever these days thanks to their constant neediness, an idea struck him like lightning through a thunderstorm—he would make sure everyone else dies before killing himself. The only problem was that there wasn't enough time left between one person dying and another being born to get everything done in a timely manner…unless he found a way around that pesky little fac
The first thing he noticed was the smell. The air in the room stank of blood and death, but it wasn't a sweet scent like that of freshly spilled entrails or a butcher's shop. It smelled more like the sour tang of old vomit mixed with urine, which made him think of his mother's chamber pot after she'd been sick for days on end. He wrinkled his nose at the thought and tried to ignore the odor as best he could, though it didn't do much good. His stomach still growled loudly enough to make him wince."You're awake," said a voice from behind him. "That's a start."He turned around slowly, trying not to look too eager. A man sat against one wall, watching him intently. He had dark hair and eyes, and a scar ran across his face just below his left eye. He wore black leather armor and carried a longsword strapped to his back. His name came to mind almost immediately: Captain Rolfe.Rolfe stood up and walked over to the bedside. He pulled back the sheets and looked down at Aram's body. Then he r
A brief moment of silence filled the audience as they watched a person exit the Battlefield through the circle barrier. An elimination had occured....an elimination of a member of the raging flames sect?!An instant roar came from the crowd as soon as Jung du landed on the outside of the circle."w...what?!" Jung du looked around him carefully and then looked in front. He could clearly see the barrier seperaying him and the others inside the circle. But how? How was it possible? Had he been eliminated?!The first point of the first elimination had actually gone to the Great water Serpent sect's side, even against the odds. How?! ....Judith smirk got even wider as she took a quick glancce at Jung du and retrieved her hammer. She had scored the first elimination for her team, as a captain that was one of the best things she could do to uplift her team's spirit."Damnit" Sao gang muttered as he dodged an icy blue knife that was thrown his way. Even though he was battling someone, his m
"Wonderful" Harith's eyes shone with a light he'd never shown before. He had just seen a technique, a move that was mine blowing. A game changing power infact. This was the thing alice had relied on to take him by surprise and then she called him weak after. She had repelled a sure hit attack right back to the user... it was something Harith could very much use if he ever got his hands on it. ..... *Boom* The ice on the floor shattered into pieces as Layla crash on it. But without wasting time sulking on the icy floor, Layla swallowed her pain and got right up. With a heavy jump she flew upwards, flinging herself towards Baxia and grabbing him by the neck. Baxia had a face filled with irritation..These four were hell bent on stopping him from making his move. And they knew they couldn't win in a fair fight so they were trying to stop him from achieving victory, at least this way. Baxia didn't think Layla would ever let go of him but still... he couldn't afford to t
Harith wheezed and gasped for air as he tried to take Alice's leg away from his chest but it was to no avail. The earlier attack had really weakened him. He didn't have the slightest idea of what happened. First he had made an attack and successfully predicted that Alice would dodge it, and then he made a backup attack-One that was guaranteed to hit. But as soon as he made the attack he was struck...What the fuck was going on! "I expected more" Alice clicked her tongue, the candy in her mouth dancing around. With a rise of her arms she lifted up the scythe and brought it down with all her power! *Crack!* As soon as Alice lifted up the scythe and exposed her face, a punch came crashing into her. The punch was so devastating it dislocated Alice's jaw. Alice's eyes turned and she staggered backwards, struggling to even keep hold of her scythe. *Bang!* Before Alice could recover from the first punch, another one came in. This time right to the temple. Never in her life had alice fe
"Stop him!" Layla shouted as she rushed towards Baxia, leaving her opponent behind. She couldn't give a shit about who it was that she faced, all that was on her mind was protecting her sister from this monster of a guy. The raging flames sect students were more than surprised, three of their members had suddenly become free of fighting. The Great water serpent sect students they faced before had all retreated to go defend Judith. It was now Five versus Nine- The five being the remaining members of the Great water Serpent, and the Nine being the Members of the great water serpent sect without Baxia. Harith, though, wasn't as fortunate at the rest. The Petite girl with ponytails and a candy in her mouth still refused to leave Harith. Harith was frustrated, he had only met this girl once-Which was the during the time the raging flames sect first fought the great water serpent sect in the poking rounds. And even then, their encounter was short. But now, why
Outside the circleThe Great water serpent sect's side was so quiet that if one dropped a pin in the midst of them, they would hear it. The students in the circle were among the strongest of the sect, and Judith was the second strongest....second only to the sect master's daughter. But still- Baxia had knocked her out cold in one punch like it was second nature. And he just Knocked out another one of the students! Elder Jang had a smile on his face. He knew who Baxia was. Baxia couldn't accept any form of defeat without retaliating, even at the cost of his life. Although this trait made taking stupid decisions common for Baxia, this time, elder Jang was going to put the trait to good use.
