Stoic, hostile gaze met mine. Those weren't definitely Gabe's.

'Christian?' I tried to speak but my throat was too dry to enhance free flow of words. A sharp pain shot through my left hand. The wince I reciprocated in reaction didn't stop him from staring at me frenziedly.

'Water..' I mumbled, trusted that he be able to read my lips. It took only a phone call to have one of his men bring me a bottle of water. I gulped the liquid greedily till I downed the bottle's content.

'Why did you do that to yourself?'

'Do what to myself??' I raised my left hand higher, did the same with my bandaged ankle.. 'Are you talking about this?' my voice was calm, the exact opposite of how I wanted it to be. However, the exhaustion taking tolls on me seemed to be having the upper hand.

'I'm very much certain I need not be specific for you to understand what I'm talking about...'.
