Determination to get me married

With every minute that passes, whoever outside ringing the door bell grew impatient. I ran down the stairs, racing towards the door to check whoever was outside when Rhodes pushed me aside.

'He's here'

My forehead wrinkled. 'Who is he? Be specific'.

'Your father.'.

I felt dire that moment. How did he know? What was he here for? I didn't want to believe Rhodes was right.

'How do you know? He can't be here. He doesn't know where I am'.

'Now he does. I'm not sure how but I'm giving you my word that it wasn't me.. if you don't want to meet him, you can take refuge somewhere, I'll make up excuses for you'..

For the briefest second, I saw concern flash through his eyes. He was as worried as I was, the only difference being he's in the least worried for himself. He was scared for me instead. I forced down the bile in my throat. The door bell rang again, accompanied by unfriendly banging on the door.

'I'll answer it' he shoved me aside and went to the door.

Once he did, he bowed light
