Chapter 7
Avon got home at the urgent request of his personal assistant, he had said to him on the phone that he had an urgent important information to share with him.Stepping out of his SUV he marched inside his Villa, going straight to his office and sitting down on his chair as he awaited for the arrival of the one that wanted him to be back.He saw his house in chatter, and total disarray, with workers trooping everywhere and placing things in order. The party he was having was in arrangement.“Boss.” A voice called, entering the office where Avon was at.Avon raised up his bent head, acknowledging his personal assistant who had just come in.“Yes, tell me what was so urgent I had to leave where I was?” He asked, impatient evident in his voice as he gazed intently at him.“Well I have found the murderer of your family,” he began, stopping his words and starring at the General with the look of permission to continue.“Continue.” Avon stated, getting his message from his eyes.“It was by the gang named the Devil’s Brotherhood, they work for the Wilson’s family and they must have ordered them to kill you and your family.” He said, his face falling into despair hoping the General’s next reaction won’t lead to his doom.He had told him to keep any news about the murderer of his family till tomorrow when the party is done and everyone has know about the arrival of the Dragon General.“What was my instruction earlier ago?” Avon asked in a cold voice, his icy gaze stabbing daggers into his assistant’s nervous soul.“To keep the news I have till tomorrow General.” He answered, head bent and unable to see his Boss’s reaction on his face at all.“Then why are you telling me now?”“Because then I haven’t found out about the Wilsons being the one who ordered for your family to be killed.” Finn Valor gave another soft response, his heart hammering against his chest hoping that sounded convincing enough like he planned it to be.“So?”“They’re part of the families invited to your welcome party, and the patriarch of the family is also celebrating his eighteenth birthday a day after tomorrow, I just got the invitation for you not long.” He brought out an invitation card with a ribbon design on it out of the files he was holding, waving it visibly on air in front of Avon’s eyes.“Be on your way.” Avon dismissed removing his gaze from him.A silent relieving sigh fell off Finn’s lip as he backed away and out of the General’s office. Getting outside the door he placed a palm over his chest, then another relieving smile curled up his lips as he walked away. Avon’s face was covered in half, his folded palm in each other was above his face over his mouth and part of his nose as he dwell in his thought.Thinking about the day everything changed for him, the day he sort into becoming the man he is right now. Also wondering the reason to why the Wilsons would have cold heartedly ordered for his family to be wiped out, without giving a second thought for a whole family to be killed. That was cruel and a monstrous act.He knew for a fact that the richest and most successful conglomerate company in EastHill was head by his father, and that could have brought about unwanted jealous that led to him being murdered, his family along with him.He wondered in his mind what offense his father might have committed or his mother or any one from his family excluding himself because he knew he did nothing wrong to the family. He wondered what offense they all might have committed to the family that warrant them to be murdered cold heartedly. His expressing darkened with anger as the event of the other day played clearly back in his head, the way the shot was fired at his mother’s head, the bullet piercing his father’s heart more than three times, his innocent sister getting shot in the head. The gory incident replaying right in front of his eyes. The look of revenge was quick to swallow up his face mixed with a glint of sadness, he removed the hand on his face as he pressed his lips tightly together, staring at the space of nothing with his hands placed on the desk.He would have his revenge no matter what, starting from the stupid gang that carried out the order of his family to be cleared out.He would also have everything taken away from his family back, they murder his family because of the position he held at the company, he would have the position back, collect back everything taken from his family, and make the family ridden by greed to allow there thoughts give in to the devil’s perception pay for what they did. The memory of his family getting killed in his eyes was still fresh in his head. He just couldn’t forget that easily, unless he had revenge those who did the deed. All this would begin after his arrival party where he had plan not to even show his face again, showing his face would only mean for a lot of people to find him out as Avon Barksdale. The Barksdale that everybody thought they’re no more.He clicked on the button provided at his desk, signaling the attention of Finn; his personal assistant, he needed his attention.Seconds after was Finn rushing inside the office, “General you called for me,” he said, bowing his head in front of him as a sign of respect.“I need you to find every piece of information you can get from those brotherhood gang. All information including their family, relatives, friends, all of them, plus their addresses. I want them all sent to my email. Understood?” He spoke with so much power, anger, hatred, and most of all vengeance.“Yes General.”“You’re dismissed.” He shifted his gaze away from him again and back to the desk. His eyes were filled with so much pain, pain that only defined anger and sadness.Finn turned back, seeing himself out of the General’s office and to go tend to his needs.Avon Barksdale stood up from where he was, pacing a bit around his office, then walked back over to his drawer, dragging the rectangular safe out and removing a neatly placed pistol on a pillow out from it. He proceeded into bringing out the other part that made the gun effective outside on his desk, including the bullets and all.Arranging everything and corking the gun, he brought out the pillow, targeted it and release a shot, that sent an ear deafening sound blaring from his office.Chapter 8 At the Hales’s household was the entire Hales family gathered at the living room engaged in a discussion about the party they were all attending. Mainly talking about how they would have the Great Five Families notice them and initiate a contract or any discussion that leads to a deal with them. “Royce you go for the Wades, Oscar you go for the Jones, Vance you’re for the Wilsons, Charlotte you can go with the Stones. We already have the Parkers with us.” Lennox sat there on his private chair, assigning everyone to what they’re to do during the party, who to talk to and how to develop an interesting conversation. “About the Parkers, my husband and I have discussed something and we would like to tell you all about it.” Abigail announced suddenly from where she’s sat with her husband, her hands all over him and a dirty smirk playing on her lips. “What about them?” Vance questioned his niece sudden announcement. “Well me and my husband have decided to pull back the deal
Chapter 9 Abigail Hales Parker, a twenty five years old lady married to the first born of the Parkers; A well known and respected family, belonging to one of the Great Five Families in EastHill. She’s an arrogant lady with rude manners and foolish in nature. Disrespectful and likely termed mannerless. Most people refer her to the ‘Beauty without manners’. She’s a very pretty lady that indeed lacks manners. Abigail wasn’t like that growing up, the attitude and arrogance started when everyone started hating on Lorraine and marked her as a subject of bully. She became everyone’s favorite, even the uncle that wanted to hit her right now was among those that pampered her while growing up. Abigail wasn’t taught any manners, she’s made to believe that she can have anything she wants, and she can do anything she wants to anybody. Her grandfather gave her more audacity, always supporting her when she’s suppose to be corrected, always defending her where she’s supposed to be shamed
Chapter 10 “You all are horrible, Abigail is no better than any of you. If speaking even, she learns from the best.” Lorraine had voiced out in anger, the least her family could do is just give her husband a chance. A chance to prove himself different, a chance to prove them wrong. That’s all she asked for, all she truly needed from them to give to her and her husband. But why wouldn’t they do that, why would they keep degrading him at any given moment? Can’t they look at the positive side of things? Is it that hard for them to do. “Lorraine-““No! Not a word from any of you. Not a single word.” Her index shot up, cutting the words that were too come out of Charlotte’s mouth short. She lowered her eyes in anger, traveling round the room with hate and disdain emitting strongly from her gaze.“This same man treated my face, made me look this beautiful, when it was you all that originally invented that ugly look. Or have you all forgotten all the horrible things you all did to me? T
Chapter 11 Decorative lights and illuminants lit up the extravagant mansion of the Dragon’s General. The hall was crowded with high class citizens of EastHill conversing with one another in such a classy manner. Waiters walked around with trays filled with glasses of champagne, whiskey, red wine, or expensive sort of drinks. Maids are also on standby, Incase the guests needed their help or their attention. Everything was neatly set and stunningly in order. The party was going smoothly. At different corners was the Hales family distributed and discussing with a member of the Great Five Families. “I heard your daughter, Lorraine is now the most prettiest lady in EastHill?” A woman had asked Charlotte, a woman from the Stones Clan. “Yes,” Charlotte responded in a mild tone. Not really sure why she was asking, she had talked about her family getting in deal with theirs, so she’s quite befuddled on why she’s asking about her daughter, or the kind of answer she’s about to give to he
Chapter 12 Back at the party. Just outside the villa. A taxi cab drove in the compound parking at a central spot for his passenger to get down, the door opened with a beautiful girl clad in a dimly bright crystal gown that had a tiny strap hanging around its shoulder, the length of the gown flowing downward to wiping the floor behind her body, with her feet stick perfectly into a golden mid-high heels. Up her left thigh was a slit running down from there, and held in her palm and clinging to her thigh was a small golden purse as well. It was Lorraine, looking radiant as ever as she walked steadily to the entrance of Avon’s villa. Her hair was up in a messy bun, with a nude light makeup smeared on her face, her lips were clothed in a pink glossy lipstick bringing out more of her heart shaped lips. She truly rocked the whole being beautiful with her majestic appearance. She stood still in silence, her lips hung slightly downwards as she stared at the mansion in front of her. She t
Chapter 13 Lorraine eyes were shut tightly embracing the pain of the man’s strong grip squeezing her shoulder. She made a move, trying to get out of his hold but he only strengthened his curb on her instead of releasing her or letting her go. Opening back her eyes, a new courage from nowhere clothed Lorraine’s expression as she shot a kick up in between Richard’s thigh. He moved back at once grabbing his crotch as he bent down in pain. Lorraine took the initiative in moving closer and sending two more punches to his spine, before curving her elbow and touching her attack up, she bent close to him, her head above his ear. “Stay away from me.” She whispered in a threatening dark voice. Standing up and walking away from him. She saw the members of her family gathered around a table and all looking droopy, sitting down with their faces resting on their palm. She knew at once that their night isn’t going according to their plan. Lorraine wanted to go up to them, asked them what went w
Chapter 14 Avon arrived back at his mansion, late already to the ongoing party. The once crowded mansion already scanty. The cars parked out in his compound all gone. That was his plan, until he finish his mission of killing those that killed his family. No one will know what he looks like, no one will be able to recognize him. He got down from the car, arranging immediately for the lady he brought home with her to be settled down and taken care of. Passing through the foyer he saw Lorraine sitting down on the couch hugging herself with her head rested on the couch’s headboard. He immediately went to her, getting to her he met her already asleep, her hand clinging tightly to her purse, and her face laying up with her eyes closed. He stared at her beautiful features with admiration, a smile appearing on his lips as he appreciated her ethereal physiques. After awhile he bent down, proceeding into carrying her up and scooping her in his arms, in bridal style. The process jerking Lo
Chapter 15 Back at the Hales’s Villa, the same night. Everyone was at the sitting room, discussing about the party’s outcome, with Grandfather Lennox present and listening to them narrate their situation to him. “So all of them wanted Lorraine in exchange for a deal with them right?” Lennox asked, in conclusion to all they’ve been saying. “Yes,” Vance nodded his head positively, answering for them all. Lennox went quiet, his index lifting up to his chin as he drown himself in his thought, trying to think of a way to solve all this. There’s no way Lorraine could possible get married to four families, so he has to think of another way to get them with him.Oscar and Royce exchanged glances, before Oscar decided to speak up, “We developed an idea,” he said, having Lennox’s attention with his gaze snapped at him. “We know pretty well that Lorraine isn’t ready to divorce Avon, that no matter how we try to convince her she’s never going to listen or leave him. However, she can dance t
