The Betrayal

Anthony didn’t speak at all. He put on a poker face. Master Baldovino’s gaze shifted to Carina and his sons. They put on the same expression. Actually, when viewed with feeling, there was deep disappointment in the gazes of the two.

“Anthony! Why did you come with them?!” asked Mr. Baldovino again.

“Oh, honey. You look so healthy since I left this mansion,” Carina joined the conversation.

Carina took a step, but they immediately stopped her steps when Mr. Baldovino’s two bodyguards blocked her path. Carina was a bit surprised, but then she laughed.

“Ah, so now I’m being treated like this?” she asked. Obviously, she was very offended. Carina was used to being treated like a queen from a long time ago. These workers didn’t even dare to look her in the eye, out of fear and reluctance, but now, look, they were looking at her with piercing eyes full of threats as if ordering her to back off and not get close to her husband.

‘Damn it!’ Carina cursed inside. But she tried to quell her anger.
