Chapter 9

The three of them left the campus. Adam and Ryan complied, thinking Lucas would take them somewhere cheaper, but neither of them could contain their surprise when they arrived at their destination.

Adam gripped Lucas's right hand, asking questioningly. "Why are we here?"

"Eat. What else." Lucas replied casually.

Lucas pulled his two friends in, but Adam and Ryan didn't move. They stayed where they were.

"You must be wrong, right?" Ryan stared at Lucas with an incredulous look. This was The Blues, one of the more expensive cafes. It was a nice place that was very popular among teenagers.

Lucas smiled widely. He had expected that his two friends would behave like this. He replied seriously, his face showing earnestness. "I'm serious. Let's just eat here."

Adam took out his wallet, as did Ryan. They counted the remaining money in their wallets that they had to use until the end of the month.
