Keith was trying to make sure that he didn't stay long inside the room and he was sure that spending a whole day inside a locked room would make him look terrible.
“I hate doing this but I have to go around the city to see if I will find anything that would make me even think of anything else.” Keith got up and walked over to the wardrobe that Jacqueline prepared for him.
He opened it and spotted a plain black shirt with a pair of trousers, they were all in the highest class of things and he knew that there was no way Jacqueline would want him to wear anything below class.
‘That's right, I left all my clothes back at Eleanor's house and there is no way I am going back there to take them. I might as well jump into the ocean and let the fishes eat me.’
Keith picked a cloth out of the varieties of clothes in the wardrobe, he didn't know what else he would do but he was going to be roaming around the city till he found something that would make him forget that he had his divorce to think about.
Keith dressed up and headed down the lobby of the hotel, he was surprised to see his guards there. It was like they were waiting for him to come down.
“Good morning sir, Sir Marx told us to be with you all day and make sure that nothing would make you angry.” The guard said as he bowed his head, they were trying to make sure that Keith was not angry or going to kill them for leaving him the day before.
“We are sorry that we left without telling you but Sir Marx called for us.” They were still bowing down, Keith looked at them and he couldn't even think of a thing to say to them but just looked at them amused.
“You can raise your heads, Marx already told me why you left.” Keith was sounding defeated, he thought he would be alone that day but there was no chance he was going to be alone for anything.
“So you are here to guard me, I didn't know I needed guards till now.” Keith smiled, he knew that there was no way he would even want guards to be with him.
“Sir we must not let you walk out on your own like that, we know you are capable of taking care of yourself but we have to make sure that nothing happens to you.” The guard was not even looking at anything Keith would say, we were going to make sure that they followed him everywhere he was going to be heading to.
Keith didn't even have the strength to argue with them, he knew that it would only end with them following him even if he said that he didn't need them to do that.
“Fine, I want to go around town and look around. Maybe who knows, find something that will intrigue me.” Keith rooked his eyes as he walked to the car, he was not going to let anything hinder him from doing anything he wanted.
The guard followed him to the car, they opened the door for him as he entered to sit down. “I want you to take me to the Chervel Bar, I have an old friend I want to see there.”
Keith was going to pay his respects to a certain man, but it was not like he wanted to show up there with guards following him like he was some kind of royal brat.
“Okay sir,” the guard started the car, he was not going to make Keith repeat himself. Keith noticed that the guard was acting like some kind of robot.
“You do know that you can act freely, I am not a monster you know.” Keith looked at him, noticing that he was trying his best to avoid eye contact and the way he was even trying to make sure he didn't speak.
“I am sorry if my behaviour annoys you my lord. I will make sure that I don't do anything to make you angry.” The guard was not even trying to let anything Keith said sink into his head.
“You didn't even listen, I wonder what they told you about me. Listen I am not a monster and if anything I am human like you.” Keith was trying to see if he would make the guard loosen up.
“Sorry sir, I heard you don't like people looking you in the eye and you always liked it quiet and you would not like any looking at you like there was a problem.”
Keith couldn't help but laugh at the guards words, he knew that his days of terror were still following him. “Sounds like I am some kind of terrible man that will do anything to make sure that people follow my rules, but seriously I am not a monster. What's your name?”
The guard was shocked to see Keith even ask him such a question, “My name is Lucas sir,”
“Well Lucas, I only hurt people that deserve it and I won't bite your head off if you don't cross the line.” Keith smiled, he didn't even know what he would say to Lucas to make him act like a normal man.
“Okay sir,” Lucas kept driving till they got to the Chervel Bar, it was not like any of the luxury bars in the city but it seemed like there was someone there that Keith wanted to see.
“Okay Lucas you guard the car while I go meet up with someone,” Keith got down from the car, he was not about to take him inside the bar and draw attention to himself.
Keith walked in, he looked around the bar and it was like a run down place, it seemed like the bar was going out of business.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in. Keith Norman as I live and breathe.” A man sitting at the counter smiled when he saw the man walk in.
“You really look like you don't age a bit, what is it you put in your drink that keeps you this young you bitter old man.” Keith smiled.
“You know that your tongue needs to be fixed and it's not. I will make sure that you get a new one.” The man laughed as he stepped out to greet Keith, the both of them gave each other a hug.
“It's good to see you Wally, you're still kicking I thought you would be in the hospital.” Keith made another joke.
“I will not die until I have had a night with every single woman from each country.” Wally laughed as he walked back to the counter.
“You still have that sick fantasy of yours, don't you know that you are an old man and you should stop trying to get laid.” Keith was trying to hold in his laughter.
“No way I would give it up, now where have you been? The last time we spoke you said that you had an accident. I hope you didn't lose your balls in that crash.” Wally was trying to sound serious, he noticed that Keith had stopped smiling.
“Nah, I am fine. I came to see you,” Keith took a seat, he was not even trying to make Wally feel worried.
“Ah, you came all the way here to see me. I am touched by the way, how is your wife?” Wally smiled, he was trying to find out how Keith was doing and all.
Wally was one of Keith's old friends when he first came into MetroVille, they have know each other for long and it was thanks to Eleanor's father that the both of them met each other.
“Well, I am getting divorced.” Keith smiled, Wally looked at him like he was looking at a ghost.
“You look happy? I don't know how or why you are happy? You know most men would be sad if they lose a woman like Eleanor. But you seem rather happy that it happened,” Wally was looking at Keith trying to find out what was making him happy.
“Wally, she was never the one for me. I gave her all my love but she wanted to be with William's family's spoiled brat.” Keith looked at the table.
“Oh I see, well you know what they say if it was love then it won't fail. But you don't seem bothered by it, you must have one heck of a life going on.” Wally was still looking at Keith.
“You have no idea,” Keith smiled as he sat to talk to his friend.
“Let me pour you a cup of your favourite, I know that is what you need to calm your nerves down as you tell me how things are going for you.”
Wally brought a bottle and he was about to begin mixing a cocktail for Keith.
“Wally? Why is your bar looking like it's run down by the mafia?” Keith smiled when he looked at Wally, he didn't know what it was that made a bar he knew that was one of the biggest in the city to look like it was abandoned.
“It's a long story, are you sure you want to hear it?” Wally brought out two glasses of cocktail and handed one to Keith as he sat down ont he opposite side of the table.
Keith smiled as he took the cup “Go on, it's not like I have anywhere to be now.”
“Well for starters all you need is a good name out there to make sure you don't lose more customers. You make one heck of a cocktail to be worried that you will lose anything if you keep trying,” Keith took the last sip from the cup, and he looked at Wally who was trying to keep the bad thoughts out of his head. He looked at Keith and he noticed that there was something different about Keith, but he didn't know what it was that made him feel like he was somehow a bit different. “You know what I think you are right but who in the world would want to invest in this hell hole, I know you don't have anything to do but talk to me.” Wally stood up to walk over to the back, he was not happy and it was showing all over him. “I know how you feel but don't worry Wally, soon you will be back to your old self and you will keep serving up all this good cocktail like there is nothing else for you to do.” Keith wanted to make sure that Wally didn’t leave the bar to close down so he was going to
Keith was not happy that someone was trying to hold him like he was some kind of dog, “I am asking you politely to leave me alone and you think you can just hold me like you are my superior?” “Listen, I will not hold back when I am trying to say anything to you. But I will tell you this there is no way you are going to walk out of here without taking a beating if you resist following me.” The man sounded like he was going to be sure to beat Keith up if he was going to resist. While all this was going on Lucas noticed that Keith was being held by a man that he didn't know and it was clear that Keith was not happy about it one bit. He opened the door to the car and got down, he was about to make sure everything was okay with Keith and nothing was going on.“What are you doing to him? Leave him alone,” Lucas was not about to stand around and watch them hold Keith like he was nothing, but it would also be a problem for him if he talked to them like that. He knew there was no way Keith w
Keith reached the hotel and he was still confused about the whole thing that had happened earlier, it was strange to him but he was still not going to let it bother him like that. "Who in the world would send for people to come and pick me up like I am a child?” Keith got out of the car, he was not still thinking straight. He wanted to know who it was that would even think of trying to come to him like that. “Sir, do you need me to help you with any other thing?” Lucas asked as Keith stepped down from the car, he noticed that his boss was a bit puzzled but it was like he was still trying to put the pieces together. The moment Lucas called Keith it was like he snapped out of a trance. “No Lucas, you can go get some rest. You did well today.” Keith had a smile on his face, it was like he was trying to make sure that Lucas didn't feel bad but he also wanted to make sure that he didn't think a lot about what had happened earlier. “Okay sir,” Lucas bowed his head a bit before he drove
Keith sat down and began to wait for Marx and Jacquline to show up, he was not sure what he was thinking but he knew there was something about to happen and it would be a shake if he didn't know how he was to react to it. “Someone is watching me, I don't know who might even think of watching me like that.” Keith was trying to put together the thoughts of people that he knew in the city and it was only the Kendricks and Jared Williams. There was no other major family in the city that he had talked to or even mingled with. But it was clear that whoever was watching him was some rich man. “I will have to wait and make sure that I don't fall for any trap,” Keith didn't want to think of anything else but he knew that he would have to wait to know how he was going to tackle the situation or he would be the one to fall into problems. He relaxed and looked at his phone, he saw that he had not yet saved up Noelle’s number. ‘I better save this up so I won't forget who she is when she calls.
Keith had waited till the day of his divorce before he was going to leave the hotel, he was going to make sure that there was no way he would be anywhere else. “After today there will be nothing holding me together with the Kendrick family.” “My Liege, are we to come after the trial to pick you up? It would be best if you were to move to the new house after the trial so you will find a chance to be alone and hidden from everyone.” Marx was looking at Keith, he knew that he would not want to be in the hotel for long and it was best if he was to move out of the hotel and to a house. “You know what I want, I will be sure that I move out of this place, it will be nice if it’s after this trial so I will know what my next line of action will be.” Keith didn't see any reason to remain in the hotel for that long, he wanted to make sure he was not under his enemy’s radar for long.“I will make sure they prepare it for you, rest assured that it will be ready before your trial ends.” Marx smi
“Is there a problem Mrs. Kendricks?” Keith referred to Sandra by her name instead of calling her mother like he would always do to make sure he paid respect. But there was no need for him to use those words anymore. Sandra couldn’t speak, she was still trying to put together what she was seeing in front of her. “How in the world did you get a car? There is no way you can have a car this expensive. You have to be blackmailing someone to get this, you are nothing but a bum.” Keith couldn't help but smile, he was looking at Sandra and Eleanor. It was strange how both of them were the only two people he wanted to make sure he talked to. But now he doesn't even want to think of them. “I know you find it strange to see me enter a car like this or even look this happy. You are probably thinking that there is something I have hidden from you but I want to ask, what if there was something I hid from you? You were the ones that said that you wanted nothing to do with me.” Keith was not going
“Both of you sound like you were a motley crew. I don't want to know the sort of thing you were up to when. You were still back in the valley.” Lucas couldn't help but smile at the story that he was being told. Keith was looking out the window, he could picture when he and Marx were still a bit younger. “You know when I was still training to become the Lord of the Valley. Marx was the only warrior that scared the living daylights out of his fellow warriors, the elders had to make sure that there was a certain set of warriors that worked with him in order not to get killed.” All the talk of Marx made Keith have flashbacks he didn't believe he would have ever again. “You must have been scarier then, I heard you once took out an invading army with three men. They called you the protector of the valley and the undefeated king.” “That was all a long time ago, I know everyone still thinks I am that monster that reigned years ago but the monster was gone a long time ago.” Keith wanted to
Marx didn't want to take chances of letting Keith get ambushed again. It was something that might repeat itself and he was not going to stand there and watch them do anything to Keith. He had fixed a meeting with Lensly, he knew that there was no way Lensly would say no to his offer. There were rumors of the Lord of Dragon Valley’s return and it was unknown who the actual lord was. But everyone knew that Marx was the second in command, he was known as the Dragon Shadow and the only person who was strong enough to hold down the Lord of Dragon Valley if it came to a fight. But since the Lord's disappearance, there was no one there to hold back his place except Marx and he was doing a good job of striking fear into people's hearts. “Well I'd be, I never thought that there would be a day that the Dragons shadow would come to see me.” Lensly was smiling, he looked at Marx as he walked into his office. “Don't flatter yourself, I came here for something important, and trust me I need al
I woke up to the sound of someone calling my name gently, I sprung up and took my axe ready to kill any zombie in the area. I didn’t know what was going on but I looked up to see Susan standing close to me. I was shocked to see her looking at me like that.“Is there anything wrong?” I asked her as I got up to my feet, I was trying to make sure that she was okay and nothing happened to make her look like she had seen a horror movie character.“No, I wanted to talk to you I could lie down anymore.” She said as she sat beside me, it was like she was trying to get a friend out of it all. I didn’t want it to look like I was not trying to talk to her.“Okay,” I shifted a bit for her to sit down and tell what it was that was bothering her. I didn’t know what it would be that was making her feel uneasy. She sat down and by the looks of things she was quiet, it seemed like something had happened to make her even think of coming close to me. I didn’t know what I was going to do if it was going
It took me an hour to kill the zombies that covered the fourth floor, it was like they were weaker than the other zombies I had faced but it was not that. I had gotten stronger and I knew I was only going to get stronger than this if I was to keep moving.‘If I can go faster now, why don’t I go check out the office and know if I will find anyone still alive there.’ I was thinking of trying to go see if there were any survivors up on the seventh floor, knowing that I could move at speeds faster than what I would normally move at. It was going to be ideal for me to go check if I would see anyone there.I turned to the stairs and ran up, every corner leading upstairs was filled with zombies and there was no telling if there was going to be anyone still alive after all that had happened there.I got to the seventh floor and it was a mess, all the desks were turned upside down. I didn’t know what it was that would even make me think that there would be a survivor.“There is no one here, th
I was left alone there and there was no telling when those monsters would walk up to me, I was about to stand there to find out. I knew there was no way for me to survive if I was to go up against them like that.‘Why in the world did Mira leave like that for? I know she is trying to save herself but there is no telling what is going to happen if we are not close together.’I was not about to take the risk of standing there to find out that there was something dangerous lurking around the entire building, I knew if I was to make any mistake it would be my last.I was heading for the second fire escape, I knew if there was a chance for me to escape then it would be the other fire escape and I would have to be careful.I was rushing down and there was no way I would be taken down that easily, it was going to be either that or my death there was going to be nothing to it.I reached the fire escape and I began heading down the stairs, it seemed like that part of the building was under ren
“Mira, run if you like your life, you better run with me.” I was trying to make sure that nothing was going to happen to Mira as we ran through the building and watched our colleagues shaking up and down.“Jiro I can't keep up, please take it easy there is no way I can keep up with you and the way you are running.” Mira couldn’t catch her breath; it was going to be the only way for them to escape the building.“If you don’t run then there will be problems, if those things bite us then there will be problems and I cannot lose you.” I held her hands as we ran through the building. We haven’t seen any of the infected people and we were trying to make sure that there were no other casualties. It happened all of a sudden and we didn’t even expect to see any other person that hadn’t been infected. It all happened this morning when I came in for work, it was strange that we had been working on a project for the past week. It was very tiring and there was no way we would even finish it.Our
Darius put on his clothes and began making his way out of the hospital, he was going to find where he would find a dungeon to raid. He was not going to stand there and watch his sister stay in pain. ‘Finding a dungeon is going to be hard work, I need to make sure that nothing is going to hold me back.’ Darius looked at his hands, he paused when he realized that he didn't even have a simple weapon that he would be able to use to protect himself. He was not going to be able to do anything if he didn't have a weapon to even think of fighting back. ‘I don't even have a mere dagger to fight with what am I going to do?!’ Darius was panicking inside his head, he was not sure what he was going to do and he was looking around to see what he was going to be able to find but there was nothing there. Darius was lost in confusion when the screen came up, it was right in front of him. ‘Notice, head to the dungeon that appeared in the East side of the city where you will face your next task an
It had been two months and Darius had been following the instructions of the system whenever it came up, it not only helped him make his body grow to a different level. It changed his physique and everything about him, he had turned to a different human entirely. He had followed all the instructions and noticed that he had turned into a different warrior, Darius had reached a level of power that he was even thinking of reaching without the system. “Hey, have you seen that guy in the seventh ward?” One of the nurses whispered to another nurse, her face was flushed and bright red. “Yes, I thought he was some scrawny-looking guy but he has been exercising and it seems to be working. He now looks like a drawing in a book I read.” The other nurses shrieked with joy, they were not able to hold themselves back from the joy they felt looking at Darius. They were excited, they didn't know how they were going to be able to control themselves when it came to seeing Darius. Darius was walkin
Darius was filled with fear. He looked around to see that he was in a dungeon filled with Skeleton Warriors who could end him. “What in the world is going on here?!” Darius avoided all the attacks coming his way, but he was not sure how he would be able to block every attack. Darius kept running. He dodged the skeleton warriors' attacks and noticed that they were trying to hit him down. ‘Wait a minute, I don’t know how it was possible to get here. Is it because I ignored the screen?’ Darius looked at the warriors, he dodged another swing from a warrior. Darius looked down to see a skeletal blade by the side, he didn't know what he was going to do but the screen left a message. It told him to make sure he survived. “Here goes nothing!” Darius picked up the blade and tried to block the warrior's blade, he noticed that once his blade hit theirs it shattered it. He was shocked that there was something that he could do with a blade. ‘What in the world is going on?’ Darius was shocke
The dungeon raid was one of the worst in history. Hank had to report it as unsuccessful, and the Department of Raids wrote it down as a fluke. “Why in the world is something like this happening? I thought we had checked that Dungeon and it was recorded as a C-ranked Dungeon. It was not meant to be an uncharted dungeon and from the looks of things the surviving members had a story to tell.” One of the supervisors wanted to know what had happened there but the message he got from Hank. “Yeah, but he went back and he found out that there was one more survivor, but he was unconscious. What's more surprising is that Hank knew that there was no way he would survive, he said he had a hunch about the boy before he went back to check on him.” The other supervisors said as he looked at the report that Hank brought to him. “What is more shocking is the fact that he said that the boy was mutilated in front of him and there was no way he would be able to survive the wounds but oddly it was clea
Everyone was filled with fear the moment they saw what was happening in the dungeon, they were not sure what they were going to see next but it was clear to them that they were not in a C-ranked dungeon and they were in something greater than that. “Stay together, the last thing I want is to lose anyone out of fear or anything like that. So please don't falter and stay close to each other.” Hank was giving orders to make sure that there was no way for him to lose any of his squad members. Darius was filled with fear but he clung close to the team, they had seen the writing on the altar that said prove you are worthy. But then no one understood what they were going to be facing in the dungeon. “How on earth did they mark an Uncharted as a C-ranked dungeon?! We might be in a bloody S-ranked dungeon.” Jean spoke up, he was scared to his witts. Darius could see that everything he had said earlier was different now and he was scared for his life. “I have a daughter and son out there. I
