Chapter 10: Battle with the Giant Rabbit

"Grow!"

The once cute and small rabbit had transformed into a giant, fearsome monster, letting out a roar that echoed through the entire forest. The wind generated by its roar was much stronger than when it was still the size of a normal rabbit.

"Ukh!" Yuki drove his sword into the ground, using it as an anchor to prevent himself from being blown away. His ears ached from the deafening roar of the monstrous rabbit.

"Damn it!" Yuki cursed, regretting underestimating the monster he was hunting.

The giant rabbit had white fur that now looked dull and ragged. Its body, which was once small and adorable, had grown into a terrifying figure. Standing at a height of one and a half meters, its sharp fangs protruded from its mouth. The claws on its feet were now made of gleaming metal under the moonlight. The eyes, once innocent and gentle, had turned into glowing red orbs filled with hatred and the intent to kill.

Yuki took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He knew he had to focus and think quickly if he wanted to survive this encounter. The giant rabbit didn't give Yuki much time to think. With surprising speed, the monster lunged at him with its claws extended.

"Seira, get ready!" Yuki shouted, raising his sword high, preparing to face the attack. The blue gemstone at the hilt of Seira's sword glowed, signaling that the sword was ready to follow its master's commands.

The giant rabbit attacked ferociously, its claws aiming to tear Yuki apart. Yuki dodged nimbly, moving backward and swinging his sword to parry the strikes. Each time his sword met the rabbit's claws, a loud metallic clang echoed through the air.

Yuki hadn't landed a single blow on the monster, and he was being pushed back continuously while trying to defend himself.

"I can't keep this up; I'll die at this rate," Yuki thought. He needed to find a way to strike back, but every time he tried to get closer, the giant rabbit managed to push him back with its brutal attacks.

The rabbit leaped with incredible speed, its claws aiming straight for Yuki's head. With quick reflexes, Yuki raised his sword, deflecting the attack that could have decapitated him. The clash of metal against metal sent shockwaves through his arms, nearly making him lose his grip on the sword.

Struggling to hold onto 'Seiryū no Inazuma,' Yuki found it increasingly difficult to mount an offensive. Meanwhile, the monster didn't give him a moment's respite, launching a relentless barrage of attacks—swinging its claws, biting with sharp fangs, and even using its powerful horns. Yuki was forced to retreat, parrying every blow with all his might.

Each of Yuki's movements grew slower, his energy draining rapidly. The giant rabbit seemed tireless, attacking with even greater ferocity. In a miscalculated move, the rabbit's claw managed to graze Yuki's arm, leaving a deep gash that oozed blood.

"Argh!" Yuki grimaced in pain, blood streaming from his wound. However, he had no time to dwell on the pain. He had to keep moving, keep fighting.

Suddenly, the giant rabbit unleashed a new attack. It opened its mouth wide and released a powerful gust of wind. Yuki was thrown several meters backward, crashing into a large tree.

"Ukh!" Yuki groaned in pain. His body felt battered, and his breathing was labored. But he knew he couldn't give up now. He had to fight until the end.

The giant rabbit approached, ready to deliver the final blow. Yuki saw the crazed gleam in the monster's red eyes. With the last of his strength, Yuki gripped Seira's sword tightly and closed his eyes, trying to focus his thoughts.

"Seira, I need your power now," he whispered with desperate hope.

Suddenly, the blue gemstone on Seira's sword shone brighter than ever before. Yuki felt a surge of powerful energy coursing through his body. Without thinking, he swung his sword towards the approaching giant rabbit.

"Thunderbolt!" Yuki shouted instinctively.

From Seira's sword, a bolt of blue lightning shot out, striking the giant rabbit with tremendous force. The monster staggered back, its body charred by the powerful electric attack. The giant rabbit let out a piercing scream of pain.

However, the monster was not yet defeated. Despite being burned, the giant rabbit charged again, even more ferociously. It leaped high, aiming to attack Yuki from above. With extraordinary speed, Yuki managed to dodge just in time. He turned around and concentrated all his energy on one final attack.

"I have to end this now! Thunderbolt!" Yuki yelled.

With all his remaining strength, Yuki leaped into the air and swung his sword with full force. A larger and more powerful bolt of blue lightning erupted from his sword, striking the giant rabbit with devastating impact.

The giant rabbit let out one last agonizing scream before collapsing to the ground with a heavy thud. Its body smoldered, and its glowing red eyes slowly dimmed and went out.

Yuki panted heavily, sweat pouring down his face. He couldn't believe what had just happened. With the help of Seira and the accidental emergence of the blue lightning, he managed to defeat the giant rabbit monster on his own, without anyone's help.

Yuki sat on the ground, trying to catch his breath. His body still trembled from the adrenaline rush. He looked at Seira's sword with gratitude.

"Thank you, Seira. Without you, I might have died just now."

Seira's sword glowed softly as if acknowledging his words. Yuki took a deep breath and decided to lie down on the ground, completely exhausted.

"Ha-ha-ha." Yuki laughed, covering his bloodied face with his hand. He couldn't believe he had defeated such a massive monster on his own.

Yuki was truly satisfied to have finally won and survived. He realized just how terrifying the world he was living in now was. After finishing his laughter, he let out a strong breath.

"What should I do now?" Yuki looked at the dead monster. He thought it would be impossible to carry the giant rabbit back to the village in his current state.

Let alone carrying the monster's body, he found it difficult even to stand up because his whole body was in pain.

"Ah, whatever! Seira, Human Mode!" Yuki commanded Seira to transform into her human form. In an instant, Seira, the sword 'Seiryū no Inazuma,' changed into her human form.

"Master, what is your command?" Seira crouched beside Yuki.

"Seira, can you carry that creature to the village? I can't carry it myself," Yuki pointed at the giant rabbit monster lying lifeless on the ground.

"Alright, Master. And what about you?"

"I'm going to sleep for now. I'm out of strength and... it seems... I'm losing too much blood..." Yuki passed out after finishing his sentence.
