Chapter 172

Aiden continued to walk away from the restaurant until now, he was in a deserted place. Aiden saw several cars parked freely without their owners. There was burning smoke from an oil barrel that had not been used for a long time. All around him, on almost every street corner he passed, quite a few homeless people were sitting and lying on the street on old cardboard boxes. They mingled with the garbage that was scattered haphazardly. A slum area where poor people live.

The people's faces looked pale from hunger. Their bodies were dirty. They wore layers of clothes. Not the thick clothes usually used to avoid the cold, but all the clothes that covered their bodies were unfit for use and had holes everywhere. Even the people's clothes had lost their color; they were all the same color, a dusky brown that was faded and dirty from years of being homeless on the streets.
