chapter 8

The manager heard Aiden's phone ringing in the distance. He held up his index finger while shouting. "Hey, turn that ringing sound down. What if it disturbs the honored guests here? Quick, put that cell phone on silent!"

The manager glanced at the middle-aged man politely and bowed respectfully. "Sorry, sir." He felt terrible for shouting so loudly in front of him.

Aiden rolled his eyes and picked up the phone with a frown. There was no name on the screen. He had no idea who had called him. "Hello?" He activated the loudspeaker on the call because he was outside the bank, afraid he couldn't hear the voice on the other side properly.

The middle-aged man inside was Arnold. He seemed to bow respectfully as if the honorable person coming to the bank was already in front of him. "Sir, are you on your way to the bank?"

Arnold's voice could be heard bouncing off Aiden's phone. Suddenly, everyone in the bank was startled. They wondered why the middle-aged man's voice could be heard on Aiden's phone. Their eyes wandered around; someone in the same room as them could have called Aiden, but only the middle-aged man was on the phone.

"Did that middle-aged man just dial the poor man's phone number? Does that mean he's the important honorable person in question?" One of the bank customers asked the people in a half-whispered voice. But since it was quiet inside the bank, everyone could hear his voice.

Aiden sneered as he put his cell phone away. "Looks like he's the honored guest. Aiden looked at Arnold, who had also said the same thing as the man on the phone with him. He walked back into the bank with a frown.

The officers and manager were shocked and looked at each other until they couldn't speak. If it was confirmed that Aiden was an honorable man who was coming to the bank, then they were in big trouble.

Arnold was slightly surprised because he thought Aiden was just another customer blocking the gate. The look on the middle-aged man's face changed instantly. Arnold smiled broadly at Aiden and respectfully bowed his head. "Sir, my name is Arnold. I am the president of this bank."

Aiden frowned as they came face to face. "Why are you calling me?" He showed his cell phone screen, which was still connected to Arnold's call. His voice was reflected on Arnold's cell phone as well.

Arnold immediately disconnected his phone from Aiden's. He smiled kindly. "Last night 100 million dollars was transferred to your account, but you can only use the credit money with the gold card. Otherwise, the card won't work. Therefore, your coming to this bank is a privilege for us."

The manager and officer were so shocked that their eyes widened utterly. "Does it really say 100 million dollars?" The manager whispered to the bank officer.

Meanwhile, the bank clerk, unwilling to serve Aiden, became frightened because he hadn't checked the card yet. He shook his head weakly. "I don't know. I haven't checked because I don't think there's 100 million dollars in his account. He borrowed 1000 dollars here before, so I don't think it's possible that he has 100 million dollars."

"Ouch, damn it. How could you be this careless?" The manager rubbed his face roughly. He was in big trouble.

Arnold looked at the manager and the bank officer. "Has this gentleman been served well?"

The manager and the bank clerk just looked at each other, then lowered their heads in fear. Their faces looked deathly pale. This left Arnold needing clarification. In his heart, he wondered why they were so scared.

"What's wrong? Why are you guys just silent?" Arnold looked at them questioningly, but they lowered their heads even more.

Aiden glared at the bank manager and officer who had insulted him. "They're already treating me unfairly here."

Arnold frowned. "What do you mean, sir?" He didn't understand how the manager and bank officer could act unfairly toward an honorable man like Aiden. They should have prioritized Aiden.

Aiden's chest burned as he recalled how they had treated him. "That officer accused me of being a fraud because he didn't believe there was 100 million dollars in my account. He even insulted me in front of everyone. The manager came and just like the officer, he didn't believe that I had $100 million."

"What?" Arnold's eyes widened perfectly when he heard Aiden's explanation. He couldn't believe that his employees could treat such an honorable man in such an improper manner.

Arnold stared at the manager and the bank officers with piercing eyes. "What have you done? Have you never read the job standards? We must serve our customers well. But why are you behaving like uneducated people?"

"I'm sorry, sir." The manager bowed his head before Arnold.

Arnold was furious at the attitude of his subordinate. Aiden wasn't from a random family, so he feared this would reflect poorly on the bank he managed. His excellent name would also be tarnished. "Apologize to this gentleman right now!" He glared at the bank officer who had mistreated Aiden while holding up his index finger. "You too! Apologize and bow at his feet right now!"

The manager looked frightened as he knew what Arnold was like when he got angry. He nudged the bank clerk's arm to take a step toward Aiden together. They bowed in shame before Aiden. "Forgive us, sir. We really didn't know you were an honored guest here."

Aiden couldn't forgive their hurtful words. He didn't even like the manager's seemingly insincere apology. "If I wasn't an honored guest here, you guys would never apologize to me even if I did have a hundred million dollars in my account, right?"

Arnold was also afraid that this matter would get him into big trouble. "Hurry up and apologize sincerely!" He was furious at his subordinate.

The bank manager and clerk immediately fell, prostrating themselves at Aiden's feet in fear. "Please forgive us, sir. Please forgive us."

Aiden was silent as he turned his face the other way. He could not forgive them. His jaw hardened to the point where the veins on his neck were clearly visible. He disliked people like the manager and the bank clerk, who judged everything they had by their appearance alone.

Seeing the look of rage on Aiden's face, Arnold became panicked and frightened. He clenched his fists tightly and glared at the bank manager and officer. "Starting today, I'm firing all of you!"
