As the time drew nearer for the contract signing to take place, Lucy grew more nervous. Her palms were becoming sweaty, and her mind wouldn't stop playing tricks on her, coming up with unnecessary scenarios of what could go wrong before the contract was eventually signed. She had restrained herself from consuming too much wine so as not to get drunk or appear drunk during the signing process. She grabbed the glass of water in her table and took a huge gulp, attempting to quell her growing nerves. "Calm down Lucy, nothing would go wrong, everything will be just fine." She muttered quietly to herself, in an attempt to ease her mind. The trick seemed to work for a few minutes, but soon it returned. More guests arrived, and some came to pay homage to her, which distracted her for a bit. Camera men walked by, capturing moments and also streaming the ceremony live. She suddenly remembered that her mother and her sister were yet to arrive, and the ceremony was soon to start in full swing. P
"Have you guys heard anything from Blake?" Lucy directed her question towards her mother and her sister."You're right, he's supposed to be here." Emily added."Why not text him, or call him to see what's holding him up." Alice suggested, and Lucy nodded at the idea, picking her phone to text Blake.Lucy: "Where are you? You're running late."Blake: "Had a flat tire, it's holding me up, but I'm getting it fixed already. I'll be there in a few minutes""He had a flat tire but would soon be here." Lucy announced, after reading the text message. As they all sat at the table waiting for the moment of the contract signing, snacks were being distributed to every table to entertain themselves with as they waited. Lucy used a fork to pick a meatball, taking it to her mouth and chewing slowly.'Wow, this is so good.' She thought to herself, the delicious taste of the meatball distracting her a bit from her chaotic thoughts. The table suddenly was silent as they all engaged themselves with on
There was a loud murmur in the room as they all gazed at Karina who was shining in a glamouring beauty captivating the audience before her."H-how could it be her?" Lucy gasped in shock with her mouth open. "She has no shame, how could I have had so much respect for her?" Lucy muttered to herself, if there was another option for her she wouldn't bother signing the partnership and would leave immediately."Are you sure she misses Rodriguez?" Emily asked skeptically while gazing at her. "Although she does uphold that name with a pretty face and body like hers." Emily admired in envy."You're prettier than her honey, don't compare yourself to that woman." Alice scolded Emily."She's one of the top four beautiful women in Nayvork, sorted out by rich prominent men, do you seriously think I am prettier?" She laughed lightly."Well, any man who sees you would surely be captivated by your beauty so you don't need to lose your confidence, remember that your mother is beautiful and so are you."
"I would do so sir," Brian assured and turned his gaze to the platform. Karina smiled curly as she stared at the audience. "Thank you all for coming to celebrate the partnership, it's an honor to have you all here." She announced. "Miss Hawton, would you please come up here?" Karina beckoned Lucy who was reluctant but brushed it all off, slowly making her way to the platform while gazing at Karina all the while, the audience stated in astonishment."Having them in the same room is truly an honor.""I wish I could marry just one of them if possible.""My eyes could go blind if I keep staring at such beauties."Lucy recalls that she met Karina at the partnership between her company and the Crane family. She wanted to respond but smiled even wider to prevent the audience from wondering why she reacted that way. Lucy was still stunned that Michael knew such a powerful person."I do hope we connect more in the future." Karina shook her hand out for Lucy to grab it, they held each other's
"Help you?" He furrowed his brows in surprise, playing dumb. "What makes you think I would help you after saying we shouldn't interfere in each other's lives?" Lucy recalled the day outside the Hayes building, she must have thought wrong, and she wondered how possible it was for someone like him to do that. "I'm sorry, I must have been mistaken." She apologized."If that's all you wanted to say, then please excuse me." Michael walked outside meeting Karina who smirked at him with her hand folded in her chest. "What was that about?" Karina asked interested."Nothing." Michael shrugged as she smiled cheekily."Well, I do know." She poked his arm. "She still has feelings for you." Karina laughed."Don't say that…. I doubt it." Michael shrugged his shoulders not wanting to think about it."So tell me." Karina seemed more serious now. "Have you been able to treat the person with the initial herb?" Karina asked curiously."No, I still need another herb to complete the remedy although such
Karina tilted her brows at him wondering what else he could possibly want. "Something else you say?" Karina said. "Say it and it will be done." Now she was ready to risk anything."You." He pointed to Michael. "You would lose your place as a doctor and now at my feet." He said with a smirk on his lips, this was it, Michael was losing himself but still remained calm because he could tell the final result, the confidence on Berlin's face would soon turn to that of shock when he realized just what was going on."Bow?" Michael scoffed."Isn't that a little too much?" Karina questioned but the man didn't seem like he was going to change his mind very soon."If you can't agree with my terms there's no need having this discussion." Berlin frowned about to leave."Whatever your rule is, I didn't have a problem, besides I only want to prove that I'm right." Michael shrugged his shoulders."You seem quite confident but I'm afraid you would be in trouble." Berlin laughed and was about to walk ou
Zain still wasn't satisfied with Michael being in the room and stared at him suspiciously, Karina seemed to understand his body language and asked Michael to leave, without a word he turned around and left standing right outside the door where Brian and some of his men were."Is this the one who thinks he's worthy of the highly-spoken Miss Rodriguez?" Brian scoffed standing beside Michael and taking out a cigar from his pocket.Michael ignored him, smelling trouble from him m, he didn't have the luxury of getting into a pointless fight with him. "It's rude to ignore people you know." Brian gazed at him at the corner of his eyes but Michael remained calm wanting nothing than to be left alone."You should do that outside." Michael finally said as the smoke of the cigar hit his nose, Brian stared at him with a smirk and blew more of the smoke in his face wanting to anger him but Michael turned around and walked away leaving Brian and his men, Rick and Morty He turned towards them with a
Michael easily dodged the knife with his, his body moving at lightning speed as though he were a feather."Think again." Michael scoffed."You there," Rick called while dragging one of Alec's men on the floor. "That's my prey you have no business with him.""You think that's possible?" Chris laughed as an idea popped into his head."Watch as I pop his brains right out of his head." Morty jeered in excitement as blood trickled down his fists."You sound too optimistic but there's no way you could beat more men than you can handle," Alec smirked as his men attacked in numbers in the hope of overpowering the two men but they were wrong, one swing of their fists affected ten men. They were just as invincible as Michael."What?" Alec was amused and gazed in shock at his men who were professional fighters sprawled on the floor like toys in a child's room."Now that was a nice tickle." Rick smiled in excitement while flexing his muscles."Stop trying to show off dammit." Morty rolled his eye
