Chapter 78

Dionne looked at Rex with wide eyes. She had not expected the man to oppose Fergal. He probably acted this way since he did not know her real identity.

If that was the case, Dionne had no choice but to intervene. She did not want the innocent Rex to get in trouble with her family. Fergal would not stay still when someone challenged him.

“Stop that,” Dionne said in a low voice so as not to disturb anyone else in the library. Nonetheless, the appearance of her bodyguard piqued their interest.

She stood up from her chair and took Rex’s hand, signaling him to stop disturbing Fergal. “I apologize for causing you any trouble. Thank you for being by my side. But I don’t want to get you in trouble.”

Rex locked his gaze on Dionne before releasing Fergal’s hand. “I genuinely thought of helping you since you have been kind to me,” he added, staring at the bodyguards one by one.
