There were not many prisoners remaining to confront Rex. Vaughan counted inwardly and discovered that there were only eight prisoners left, including him.

Meanwhile, all the prisoners Catharina had encountered had died. The ground underneath her became a puddle of blood. Her entire body was coated in blood, as if she had just gotten out of a blood bath.

Vaughan and the other prisoners feared Catharina might join Rex in confronting them. If those two intruders joined forces, their lives would be cut short.

"You can deal with the remaining prisoners alone, right?" Catharina asked while wiping the blood from her face. When she got a nod from Rex, she continued, "I'll leave them to you, then. I need to go to the prison to catch the targets!"

Catharina's departure relieved the prisoners, but they felt shivers again as they realized Rex had just slain dozens of people in a short time. Even if Catharina left, they would still die at Rex's hands.
