"You still have the guts to talk in that rude and stupid manner after all you have done to Cecilia?" A red hair guy plunged at Harlan, growling as he held Harlan by the collar of his shirt."You are very stupid for pretending as if nothing has happened!""Well, he could be jealous. Since his parents don't have any organization that is well known, he is after other parents' own, trying to pull it down," another person said sarcastically.Angrily, Harlan yanked off the guy's hand from his collar, his brows up in the air, he stared at Cecilia."Would you explain what is happening here?" Harlan stared hard at her.Cecilia was confused. If the guys she sent had really gotten Harlan expelled, he wouldn't have any confidence to talk to her. "Dumb man, just pack your things and go out now. I doubt you have anything here anyway," the red haired guy shouted at Harlan."Are you her mouth piece?"
Harlan decided to skip the class as going back to the lecture room was not going to do him any more good. He would not even be able to concentrate if he went back there. He decided to test a few of the cards that Mr Smith... Hmmm... His father had given him."Harlan...!" He heard someone shout. He turned in the direction of the voice and saw Elizabeth walking toward him. At first, he wanted to frown at her before ignoring her completely but he realized that at least she had helped him the other time. If she had not intervened, Elizabeth's Father would have known who he was. So instead of frowning, he stopped walking and waited for Elizabeth to get nearer.Although Harlan had noticed some people walking behind Elizabeth, he didn't know they were coming with Elizabeth until they drew nearer and they were still coming with her."I tried looking for you in class but were not there," Elizabeth said softly
Mr Wilkinson wiped the sweat on his forehead with a handkerchief which he dabbed back into his pocket. Despite the cold weather, he was sweating heavily."What am I going to do?" He asked his personal assistant for the hundredth time that day."Do you really say the Keith and Mint firm turned down the case?" The personal assistant, who had taken off his coat and was hanging it on the chair, asked in confusion."Where are your ears? Didn't you hear me saying that Harlan Smith called me and told me that the case had been withdrawn?" Mr Wilkinson shouted at his personal assistant who trembled at the way his boss was shouting."Sit, we could go to Keith and Mint and see Mr Smith..." The personal assistant started to say.Mr Wilkinson laughed dryly, "what type of person sees Mr Smith just because of something like this? We would never be allowed to get past the gate.""I am just saying that this company i
Harlan took a deep breath after the call had ended. He dialed Jack's number, who answered the call almost immediately."Check out one of the best schools two cities away from here and prepare a transfer letter for five guys. I would send you their name later," Harlan said as he strolled out of the campus. "Okay, Sir. I see you are going out already. Should I drive toward you?" Jack asked at the other end."No. I will call you when I am ready to go home.""I get that Sir," Jack said at the other end.Harlan decided to get a few clothes to see if people would stop looking down on him if he goes to some important outing like he had to the day before. He navigated to the browser on his phone and searched for the best place to get clothes. A lot of them fascinated him because of the ways each mall was advertised in a unique way. He finally decided to go to the one that interested him most.
He swallowed hard before taking his eyes from Justin's direction. He remembered how Justin had insulted him a few minutes ago."I don't know him." Harlan finally said, looking away from Justin, at the same time, almost hating himself for having this heart of compassion.Justin looked, eyes widened at Harlan, not believing what he just heard."Harlan. It's me, can't you see me?" Justin asked, hurt."I don't know you," Harlan said again."Come on, I was only kidding the other time. I didn't mean what I said. This is the time when the brotherhood bond that we both share should be strengthened. Help me get out of this mess!" Justin said desperately.Harlan cleared his throat and looked at Justin as if he was just seeing him for the first time all his life. In his mind Harlan was like 'brotherhood my foot'."I don't know you, man. If you need someone to apologize on your behalf, go meet som
Mr Smith yawned and rubbed his eyes, closing them for a moment before opening them again. He sent the last order to his personal assistant and swirled the chair he was sitting on around. He felt as if his brain was going to shut down all activities soon. Used to that feeling already, Mr Smith rubbed his eyes again. He had dark circles around his eyes for not having had enough sleep throughout the week.He turned to one of the laptops on the table and punched in a few commands on it. His brain that felt as though it was going to shut down soon became alert as he watched his son. Mr Smith had been unable to watch the several videos of Harlan that had been sent to him during the week because of his tight schedule. He soon watched it to the scene where Harlan had gone to the meeting and almost fell because he took a sip of vodka. Mr Smith didn't know when he started laughing. He couldn't imagine that someone existed who couldn't handle his drinks well. He replayed the scene several times
"I will go take a shower now that I have remembered it. After dinner, we could try having a drink together," Mr Smith said, standing up and feeling some weakness in his knees. He felt bad having heard that Harlan hates his father but he couldn't make the conversation longer than that, less Harlan becomes suspicious and that was the last thing he wanted at the moment.Harlan wondered if he had made Mr Smith angry because he mentioned his father. He watched him ho inside."Damn it. I shouldn't have mentioned that," he muttered to himself and ran his hand in his hair.Later in the night after they had both had dinner, they sat on the rooftop with a few bottles of vodka and two glass cups."The night looks great," Mr Smith muttered. He had always imagined how it felt to come back home at the weekend to his family and just do nothing but watch the shooting stars and anything that caught his interest."Yes
Jason shrugged, "I don't know where he is."The grandfather chuckled. Jason had always been his favorite of all the rest of his grandchildren, although he tries not to make it obvious, at times like this, he couldn't hide it by thinking that Jason was trying to be funny."You are really a funny one, grandson. I should have put the question in the correct way. "Where is Harlan Smith living?""I don't know, grandfather," Jason said without any apology. He could feel his father's stares on him.The grandfather frowned, "what do you mean you don't know where he lives?""I don't even know Harlan Smith," Jason added."That's rubbish! Do you think we are all fools?" One of Jason's uncles bust out."Hey, Jason, stop kidding and answer the question correctly," Jason's father said, trying to intervene and when he could make eye contact with Jason, he gave him a warning look.
