"Mom, he is no gentleman. He is the poorest guy in Healy law college. He is also in my department," Adrian told his mom.

"What has that got to do with him staying here?"

"He heard that you own this place and now, he is claiming that he is my best friend in school, because of that, he wants to go away with all these clothes," Adrian lied.

"What? Young man, is it true you don't want to pay for those clothes? Do you think this place is a charity organization? This building alone cost a millionaire dollars, not to talk about the million worth clothes that are here," she told Harlan with a snap.

Harlan was going to explain to Adrian's mother that he didn't come here to go away with the clothes without paying for them, But he stopped himself from doing that. What sort of mother would believe someone else's word over her son's own?
