It took almost thirty minutes for any of the guests to even stand, as they were afraid that perhaps one of Arthur's associates was still in the venue.

Moments later, the police arrived at the hotel, escorted everyone out while taking their testimonies.

They discovered Ethan's dead body, Jon's unconscious form and the Gallagher's who remained huddled together out of fear.

After what they had seen happen to Ethan and Jon, not one of the Gallagher's had the audacity to speak about their experience to the police when questioned.

As far as their testimony went, they didn't recognise the killer and the room was dark.

No one dared to say anything about Luna's involvement as well because they were afraid of what Arthur would do to them if he found out that they put her in harm's way.

They had only seen a small portion of what he was capable of and even at that, they were more in awe of him than they were to the law enforcement.

Jon was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance and the bodies of

I'll protect you.” Luna muttered while a look of despair morphed her features. The tears he had been holding in from the start, were on the verge of spilling down.Biting his lips while in pain, Arthur continued to tend to her, as gently as he possibly could in order to heal her without causing her any more pain. She had gone through enough and Arthur was determined to fulfill his promise from then on.Leon returned from the errand Arthur had sent him on before he was guided by Elizabeth’s right hand man to the room where Arthur tended to Luna.He knocked and waited patiently for a reply.“Come in, Leon.” Arthur managed with a cracked tone.He wordlessly stepped in and remained by the door, shifting his gaze elsewhere after noticing the look of pain Arthur had as he tended to his last family.Leon decided to reserve his update on the mission he was given later. He knew better than to disturb Arthur wi

Elizabeth sipped her tea and set it back on a tray before her as she went over the morning news.As she expected, news of Ethan Burton and Johnathan Williams’ murder had spread like wildfire, even with the families obvious attempts at blocking the information. Though it was vague, the news anchor implied that no solid motive for the murder was known by the authorities. That and the fact that the law enforcement agencies were still not aware of the culprit and they assured the public that they would do their very best to find the one responsible.Elizabeth laughed gently at the comment, muttering to herself, “Serves those pieces of trash right. The biggest mistake they made was laying a finger on Luna. They were courting death and here we have it, they all got what they deserved.”The news then went on to describe the relics owned by the Williams family that were stolen but among all the pictures shown, the sword Elizabeth had seen with Arthur wasn't shown. She knew the history behind

The maids knocked on the door and after Arthur's confirmation, they walked in with a tray of the meal that he had instructed them to make. While he would have preferred to prepare it himself, he didn't want to leave Luna's side, especially since she was awake. And it seemed at that moment, she not only felt the same, she also appreciated his presence.Occasionally a vivid memory of her horrid experience would resurface in her mind and her grip on Arthur's hand would tighten. It became worse when she tried to close her eyes to attempt to sleep as he had suggested.Instead of the brief show, when Luna tried to sleep, it felt like she was reliving the moment again and she couldn't bear to go through that.So after noticing that, Arthur asked the maids to prepare a dish that would be easy to eat, tasty and nutritional. It was none other than a family recipe that his mother had prepared for him anytime he got sick as a child. He went as far writing the means to cook it because not only was

Slowly but surely, Luna recovered over the next few days. While the rest of the state, no, the empire was discussing the untimely death of General Ethan Burton and the patriarch of the Williams’ family, Johnathan Williams, Arthur remained by Luna's side. While news outlets, talk shows and even citizens debated on the actions carried out by Ethan and the Burton family, Arthur continued to tend to her diligently. As the infighting between factions of the Williams family continued to persist, Arthur continued to be the supporting figure to aid Luna in her recovery. And while the Shield of the empire began to make decisive moves to not only reclaim the power and influence he lost via association with Ethan, but to increase his power, Arthur did his very best to ensure that Luna understood that he would honor his promise and would never abandon her.So a few days later, she had finally recovered. From occasionally talking to now being able to converse freely with Arthur and even Elizabeth

Clara had a difficult time since Ethan had ordered her kidnapping, due to her ties with Luna, her adopted daughter. Not only had he locked her up for a while, he ordered that she bring an outrageous sum of money, one that even if she sold all she had, she wouldn't still be able to pay.But it was either that or dying and she cared too much for her life that she'd let her money stand in the way of her living. And to make matters worse, when a much easier option was presented, Ethan only asked that of the Gallagher's and not Clara. It seemed he wanted to give each group he had called there, their own punishment for a single crime; being directly tied to Luna Rhyfel. That option was straightforward; give General Ethan Burton the identity of the man who caused his nephew's scandal. There was no hesitation in Clara's heart and if given the opportunity she would've outed Arthur instantly. Her reason was simple: not only did she fear Ethan, who was a general, a direct subordinate of one of t

Luna couldn't believe Agatha had made such a decision. She felt guilty again, as she believed like other times, she was the cause of someone dear to her losing something. Holding her amr tightly, she held herself back from tearing up as the memories of Clara's remarks both at the party and a few moments ago resurfaced. What had she done that she wasn't allowed to be loved by family? Was having a proper mother figure not something she was allowed to have? Arthur's hand on her shoulder, snapped her out of her thoughts. He looked at her with concern and after bottling all the questions he wanted to ask, away, he instead said, “It's ok. Everything will be fine.” His voice was not only comforting, it was also reassuring. Luna understood that he would do whatever was in his power to help her and she felt comfort in that fact. Agatha was soon escorted out of the house with a traveling bag in hand by a security guard. Offering her a salute out of respect, he returned to his p

Stopping by the sobbing woman, he sneered at her, "You'd better be done before I get back or I'll make you lick it off the ground."Arthur made a mental note on Pablo. Seeing as he was not only one of the lackeys who so easily followed the orders of the seven great families, his terrible actions didn't seem to stray from the norm for him.Putting his thoughts aside and Arthur crouched before the woman who looked up surprised. He had a mission and he planned to complete it without any issue. As for Pablo, just like Arthur did to Ethan Burton, Johnathan Williams and Nathaniel Burton, he would do to him as well. The war god was not one to show mercy to his enemies.Leon almost felt bad for Pablo, knowing just what would happen to him as he had not only been marked by Arthur for his actions ten years ago, but he had once again made himself into the enemy of the most feared man during the war."S-sir, you shouldn't be here." For a long time, Pablo was a person who firmly believed in doing what was absolutely necessary to succeed and that alone.Though he was born into an upper class family, his main fault was that they weren't as powerful as the seven great families. He coveted a position among them so much that any opportunity he was presented with to be amongst them, he took. These families were well aware of people like Pablo and knew how best to use people like them for their own good.So they baited the already greedy Pablo in and turned him into their hunting dog.The families promised him that should he succeed, they would have him as a business associate or a partner. And so he took part in the Rhyfel family massacre, eager and ready to prove himself to the seven great families, or more specifically the three amongst them who sought the downfall of the Rhyfel. At the end of the day, he was made an associate, just not in the manner he thought he would be.The chain of restaurants he currently manag

Leonard Hughes sat behind his large desk in his study, a chilled glass of whiskey in his frail hands. If he had been told this would be how the great Hughes family that had survived and prevailed for centuries would fall, he would not believe. But that was the cold harsh reality. It was ironic and somewhat of a sick joke that it all ended on the same day that it started.Like someone had chosen it particularly because of its significance. Perhaps they had.On that very day fifteen years ago, The Hughes family, Burton family and Williams family, three of the seven great had joined hands together to bring the downfall of the Rhyfel family.Their actions against them had long begun, but that day marked the finale, the end of it all. They had pooled their resources together and attacked the Rhyfel family estate with the intention to spare not a single soul. And surely they would have succeeded at that, if not for the bravery of the young flower of the Rhyfel family, Luna Rhyfel.Pushing a

His eyes widened as he took in the information: financial records, names, operations, evidence that implicated the Hughes family in countless crimes. It was the breakthrough he had been waiting for, but even more comprehensive than he had hoped."This is… beyond what I expected," he murmured, still processing the weight of what he held. Then, snapping into action, he pressed a button on his desk intercom. "Bring in Agent Marlowe and Special Operative Ryder."Within moments, the door opened, and two figures entered. Agent Marlowe, a sharp-eyed woman with an air of calm authority, and Special Operative Ryder, a tall, muscular man with a cold, calculating demeanor. They had been sent from the capital, handpicked by the emperor to assist in cleaning up the city, a task that had proven more daunting than either had anticipated."Commissioner," Marlowe greeted, nodding as her eyes flicked over to Isabella, recognizing the family resemblance. The commissioner wasted no time. His voice, though weakened, was laced with bitterness. “Saul... if only you had been more competent. We wouldn’t be facing this now.”With a final, pained sigh, Leonard collected himself, his expression hardening into a grim resolve. “Summon all the Hands back to the estate immediately. We cannot let Rhyfel breach our defenses.”Ian nodded sharply, understanding the gravity of the command. “Yes, Father. I’ll see to it.”As Ian departed to carry out his father’s orders, Leonard muttered under his breath, his words dripping with venom. “Uther Rhyfel… you’ve always been a thorn in my side. Even from beyond the grave, your son continues to cause me trouble.”Meanwhile, Arthur Rhyfel was making his way through the bustling city streets with a purposeful stride. The same city that had seen his return for the first time was once again unaware of the storm that was brewing beneath. He approached a sleek black vehicle, where Elias, his driver, waited at the wheel. As he rounded a corner, he saw her, Luna, his older cousin, the only living family he had left and his only true reason for engaging in such a war. Yes, he wished to avenge his deceased family, yet if she had not saved him on that day, fifteen years ago, he would not have been alive to do so.She was his sole purpose for being alive and the one dearest to him. The one he had to protect at all costs. Many would claim that the war god had no weaknesses, and that was in fact true. Luna Rhyfel was not his weakness but his strength and while she might be the weaker of the two, should anything befall her it will not break the war god, no.It would simply unleash the demise of the ones foolish enough to commit such an act.The earth itself would not hide them from his fury if they were to do something as hopelessly stupid as even attempting to bring about the demise of the flower of the Rhyfel family. She was standing by the large windows that overlooked the estate’s gardens, her gaze dist

Ian took a deep breath, knowing the next part would be the hardest to convey. “To gain more information about him, we need to surrender information on the Hands of the Hughes family.”Leonard’s eyes sharpened, a dangerous glint appearing in his gaze. The Hands of the Hughes family were their most protected assets, their identities known only to the inner circle. To give up that information was to expose the family’s very core, to lay bare their most guarded secrets. He leaned back, closing his eyes for a moment as he considered the implications. Ian waited, his breath almost held as he watched his father’s face for any sign of what he might decide.Outside the warehouse that served as Charles’ base, Laura sat in the backseat of the car, her fingers tapping against the leather seat in a rare display of impatience. The weight of the conversation with Ian earlier still hung over her, the gravity of what was at stake gnawing at her composure. She glanced at the warehouse, its weathered

So while she was not one to so readily show emotions outwardly unless she deemed it necessary. Her experience growing up as the daughter of the patriarch in the Hughes family had made her this way.It was necessary for her survival, so her visible nervousness had hinted to her bodyguard and driver who watched her from the side, on how drastic the situation was.Her mind drifted to the response of her father should the news be delivered. She wondered if he would side with her uncle, his brother who had blamed the fall of two of the Hands on her “bad management.”As if that wasn't enough, more stray thoughts seemed to emerge, only further worsening her nervous state. What would the patriarch say? How would he react to the news of the war god’s return? And more importantly, what would he decide about the information Charles held?Taking a deep breath, Laura pushed those thoughts aside and steeled herself. She had a role to play, and she would do it to the best of her ability. The Hughes

Laura stepped out of the study, her heels once again clicking against the marble floor as she moved briskly through the corridor. The conversation with Ian and their uncle still echoed in her mind, but she couldn’t afford to dwell on it now. There were more pressing matters to attend to.As she stood by the car that had brought her, she began to consider her next course of action. While she was granted authority over the Hands of the Hughes family due to her father, the patriarch's current state as well as her older brother, the heir apparent’s view on handling things, her authority was limited.Something as drastic as handing over information on the group whose identities were the most secured amongst all of the seven great families was not something she had the clearance to do, so in that case, she needed to seek who could. This was a one in a million opportunity and she was sure no one else but Charles could grant her the information that would help both her and the rest of the Hug

It was what the likes of a treacherous family like them deserved. The Hughes family would get no mercy from the war god, just the pain, suffering and tears they had brought upon the Rhyfel family.Their actions had birthed the unstoppable existence that was the war god, and that very same existence that their actions had created would now be what would bring about their demise.Truly ironic if one were to consider it.And so following his order while having an idea of Arthur's intentions, the prominent information broker returned to his seat, eyeing the bodyguard as he prepared to carry out his plans.“So, are you done compiling the necessary information?” She questioned, her tone hinting at the sense of urgency she felt, although she tried to hide it.“Well, I am now, lady Laura.” he replied, adjusting his posture on his chair.“Then why the delay? Is he that important of a person that revealing his identity is problematic?” Her question did little to hide not just the sense of urgen
