"You're back," Ravenna stopped in her tracks at the sound of a familiar voice in the dark room. She blinked rapidly and wondered what Damian was doing in the living room.

Was he waiting for her?

Of course, if it were she and someone like Damian had gone out quickly at that time of night, I wouldn't get a wink of sleep.

The light turned on, revealing Damian with his legs crossed on a single cushion. He waved at her with a smile, an act she didn't find welcoming. "Hi," he said as Ravenna forced a chuckle and quickly walked up to him.

"Hey, I told you not to wait for me," she said quickly.

"Did you?" Damian rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "No, you didn't." He raised his gaze to her.

"I didn't," she muttered as she berated herself slowly for being so lousy. It was all Marco's fault. That bastard.

"Why do you look so tense? I was just worried, and you didn't take the chauffeur with you," Damian feigned a worried look.
