Chapter Thirty Four

Of course the big trouble is his wife ,he could see her shadow holding a slippers in her hands for defense through the window of the house as if those slippers could save her from anything or anyone dangerou.

Elijah stumbled through the front door, his steps heavy and unsteady. It was well past midnight, and the moon hung high in the inky sky.

The house was cloaked in darkness, save for a dim glow emanating from the living room, where the soft light of a table lamp spilled out onto the carpeted floor.

As Elijah closed the door behind him, a gust of chilly wind followed him inside, whispering secrets and reminding him of the outside world he had just left behind.

The sound of the latch clicking shut echoed through the house, alerting his new wife, Selena, to his presence. She was standing in the living room, her arms wrapped around her while she wait for him with a big green on her face.
