Just then, a sharp knock echoed through the wooden door, making Grandfather Williams's heart skip a beat. He hesitated for a moment before rising to answer it, his cane tapping gently on the hardwood floor. Slowly, he opened the door, revealing two stern-faced police officers in their crisply pressed uniforms.

"Good morning, Grandfather Williams," the older officer said with a tone of regret, "We've received reports of unpaid debts and multiple complaints about your grandson, Henry. We're here to investigate and, if necessary, arrest him."

Grandfather Williams's heart sank further, but he nodded solemnly, knowing that the officers were just doing their duty. "Come in," he murmured, stepping aside to let them enter. The officers exchanged a glance as they noticed the old man's slumped shoulders and weary expression.
