Chapter 02

Scoffing, Oliver paced around the room for a while. He was already tired of arguing with his wife and one look at the divorce papers made fresh memories flash across his mind.

He knew that he loved her once, he loved her so much that he was ready to do anything for her but now the woman standing in front of him isn’t the woman he once loved.

Everything about her had changed and for a moment Oliver was expecting her to take back her words.

He was expecting her to say to him that it was just a prank and that she loves him so much that she would never think of divorcing him but none of that happened.

For her happiness, he was going to sign the divorce papers.

Oliver took another look at the divorce agreement and without thinking too hard, he signed it and handed it over to his wife who gave it to her mother.

Delilah was happy to see that Oliver was signing the papers, she was glad that now her daughter would have many better opportunities with better men.

Her joy was evident in her face that she nudged Sienna out of her thoughts. Sienna felt bad, she felt like something really important was leaving her.

She had known Oliver for so long that seeing him sign the papers now made her start having second thoughts but she drew in a breath.

“You’ll be fine, Sienna, it’s for the best.” Sienna said to herself as she comforted herself that her and Oliver are no longer in the same world.

Sienna comforted herself with the fact that Oliver was beneath her and the divorce was the only thing that could make the both of them move forward even though she knew that it was a lie.

Bracing herself, Sienna drew in a deep breath and told herself that she was going to be at peace and Oliver will just be like other men.

“I signed the papers, I really hope you’re happy and things keep working out for you.” Oliver smiled even though he was dying inside.

He had just signed a paper of separation, there was nothing keeping them together again so he needed to move forward with his life.

Adjusting his suit, Oliver turned to take his leave. It broke him knowing that his wife thought that he was wretched and she’d listened to the words of her mother and divorced him.

“Wait!” Sienna’s voice stopped Oliver in his tracks, he turned to see Sienna walking towards him with a document with her.

“Here.” She added as she handed the documents to Oliver. It was a housing contract and it was the first house that they lived in together when they first got married.

And when Sienna became the CEO, they moved out but now she wants him back in the house because she felt like doing something nice for him.

“It's compensation, Oliver, so please take it from me.” She finished, Oliver looked at the paper and gave her a wry smile.

“Okay.” He shrugged, taking the paper from her before finally walking out of the house, the same house that he’d created memories with his wife.

“Why will you give him the house?” Delilah yelled at her daughter as soon as Oliver walked out of the house.

She was unhappy and really angry with Sienna because she gave the house to Oliver, she felt Oliver didn't deserve to take anything from her.

“I’m going to get the house back from him, he doesn’t deserve it.” She added through gritted teeth but Sienna was too tired to argue with her mother.

Oliver made his way to the house his wife had given him, it was the only memory of her that he had left so he thought of keeping it.

He could reject it because he doesn’t really need the house but he wanted it, he wanted something that will make him remember his ex-wife.

Smiling, he walked around the house, taking in every detail and replaying all of the happy moments he once had with Sienna in the house.

They were so happy that she didn’t care about his status, why did she change? Why did she decide to let what people say take the best of her?

Taking a long look at the building, Oliver felt like someone was around and he knows that his instincts don't play tricks on him.

“Who is there?” He asked; a frown forming across his face as he turned to see a woman walk into the house.

She was slender and wearing a white shirt and a black skirt, she was also holding a paper and Oliver stared at her, trying to remember if he knew her.

“Mr Hudson,” she called as soon as she walked into the house, “I’m very sorry Sir, I don’t mean to intrude.” She apologized.

“What do you want?” He asked, the fact that he had just lost his wife was taking a toll on him but Oliver managed to keep it under wraps.

“It’s my grandfather, he needs your help and you’re our last hope, you’re the only one that can save him, Mr. Hudson.” She explained.

Oliver was confused, he didn’t think that he would be saving anyone, especially not when he’s going through a major life crisis.

“Who is your grandfather?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.

“He’s Mr. Tate.” The lady answered and Hudson’s eyes widened. Mr Tate is the richest man in the city.

A frown formed on Oliver’s face as he sighed, he had made sure to save Mr Tate last year and he was expecting him to be very healthy now.

What happened? What changed and how is Mr Tate still in danger again?

Oliver was still so deep in thoughts, trying to think of what to do to save Mr Tate and to make sure that he brings him out of danger when an annoying male voice came from behind him.

“Oliver, I want the housing contract back!”
