Chapter 70.

“Dad.” Megan called, her voice low and tears were already welling up in her eyes but she tried to blink it back.

Her mother had spoken to her with so much enthusiasm and a very big part of her was expecting her father to be just as welcoming even though she knew that the chance of that ever happening was slim.

Her head pounded, she hasn’t taken her drugs today and it’s taking a toll on her, she took a look at her wristwatch and realized that it’s way past the time she was supposed to use it.

“I’m a successful medical doctor,” Megan sniffed, making her mother turn to look at her pitifully.

“My hospital is really big and I have lots of people working for me. I have worked so hard to prove that I can be everything you want me to be and more and….”

“You haven’t worked hard enough,” Her father suddenly interrupted, “you might have been big but that is to yourself!” He snapped.
